Edge Of Tonight ⊳ Stiles Stilinski ✓2,617 words~14 min read

OLIVIA SAT NEXT to Stiles on the back of the class while they waited for the papers. Olivia listened Stiles talking  with Scott. Still, she was not sure what they meant when they mentioned werewolves. They confused her more day by day. At some point she thought they were insane. Every single a couple of days ago, they will not stop talking about them. It was like an obsession, or so Olivia thought. She did not judged them though. They were her friends after all.

As she noticed the conversation still went one, she decided to find out about it herself. "Boys, why are you talking about?" Olivia asked, leaning on her desk. Stiles and Scott looked at each other, sending each other knowing looks. Olivia decided to ignore those looks, and instead rolled her eyes at them.

"Umm," Scott mumbled. He did not know how to explain the werewolf problem to her. Nor he believed she will believe her.

Olivia sighed, deciding to help Scott out. "I know it has something to with werewolves. I just want to know why. It doesn't make that much sense." Olivia told him.

Stiles stiffen at her words. "It's complicated. You don't want to know O," Stiles told her. Olivia smirked at her new nickname, but decided not to push it anymore.

Olivia shook her head, and pointed the pencil at Stiles. "God, fine. If don't want to tell me fine." Olivia told him, rolling her eyes. "But it is getting really weird" She added, continuing with her work.

Scott leant on his seat, looking at Olivia cautiously. "How much have you heard?" Scott asked her. Olivia shrugged, writing some notes on her notebook.

"Enough to know that you both don't stop talking about werewolves." Olivia told him, her eyes lifting from her work just for a brief moment.

As she got back into her work a loud voice echoed through the room. "Ms.Young, Mr.Mcall and Mr.Stilinski did your golden trio forgot this is a class." Mr.Richards said to them. The three of them murmured a quite apology.  "Good, I will hate to change your seat." He finally said before leaving the trio alone. Scott looked at Stiles worried. He didn't want to get Olivia into the werewolf trouble they had been having this past couple of days. Stiles looked at the concentrated Olivia. He didn't want any harm to come to her.

After a long day at school, Olivia sat on her bed doing homework. She thought she had forgotten about Scott's and Stiles' secret until she heard a knock. The knock from her door, caught her attention. Olivia looked at her older brother, who was standing on the doorframe. "You have people wanting to talk to you sis." He said to her younger sister.

Olivia set the book down. "Who?" Olivia asked, putting her papers aside.

"Scott and Stiles." Her brother said. Olivia stood up from her bed quickly.

"Yeah, they are my friends, Nick." Olivia said, walking down the stairs. Olivia opened the door to see the both boys. "Hey, come on in." She said, letting them in. Both teens walked inside anxiously.

Nick waved at them before turning to his sister. "I will be on the kitchen." Nick said to her. Olivia nodded at him.

Scott started to feel the cold sweat forming in his hands, and could hear Stiles' raising heartbeat. "We have to tell you something." Scott said to her. Olivia motioned them to follow her. They walked up the stairs to her room. Olivia sat on her bed with Stiles, while Scott stayed up. Scott was pacing around the room, trying to put things softly. He did not want to scare her away. "I have a condition," Scott said to her.

Olivia tilted her head to the side "Really Scott?" Olivia asked, confusion laced on her voice.

Stiles shrugged, pointing at his best friend. "A very hairy one." Stiles added.

Olivia sighed, covering her face with her palms. "I don't want to know how much hair grows in you body Scott." Olivia told him, shaking her head.

Scott sighed, looking at Stiles for support. "It's not that. I'm a werewolf." Scott said to her. Olivia looked at him as he had lost it. Olivia held her head in her hands. 'They are officially crazy' Olivia thought.

"What drugs did you take?" Olivia groaned in annoyance.

"He isn't kidding." Stiles said, nodding at her.

Olivia opened her mouth, but closed it again as she thought of her words carefully. "Werewolf?" Olivia asked him. "Like," Olivia said before howling. Stiles howled at her back.

Scott nodded at her. "Yes, that kind." Scott sighed. He looked at her for an answer, but only saw pure anxiousness. He grew more anxious, finally thinking he had scared the girl away.

Olivia played with her fingers, not looking at Scott. "Aren't they extinct." Olivia pointed out.

Stiles chuckled at her. "You wish." He said to her.

"Okay, a few weeks ago I got beaten by a werewolf. It was the day before we came back to class." Scott explained to her.

"How do you know it was a wolf?" Olivia asked him.

"Because now he can grow fangs and has yellow eyes. I don't believe that's in our nature." Stiles said, taking a seat next to her.

"Have you told Allison?" Olivia asked him. Stiles laid on Olivia's bed while looking at the ceiling.

Scott sighed, looking at Olivia with pleading eyes. "I can't, even if I wanted too. Her father, and family are hunters." Scott explained to her.

"In other words, if he tells her the truth he is dead." Stiles said to her. "By the way, your bed is conformable." He mumbled, looking at Olivia. Olivia playfully smacked his arm.

She sighed, turning her attention back to Scott. "Well that sucks." Olivia told him. "I think is cool to have a best friend who is part wolf. If there is a guy annoying me, I can just call you." She joked. Scott chuckled, nodding at her. "But, you have to show it to me. Right now, I think you are totally insane. But you are not acting like a serial killer." Olivia explained to Scott.

"Oh, no I swear I would not kill you." Scott said quickly, shaking his head rapidly.

Stiles scoffed at him. "He isn't the only guy who can protect you." Stiles said annoyed. She turned to look at him. "Just because I'm not a werewolf doesn't mean that I can't protect you." He complained. Scott sent her a look.

"I didn't said that." Olivia told him, laying on the bed too. She faced him. "I think you understood me wrong. If you are a werewolf, then it is cool. You don't have to be one to protect me. For example I hope I can count on you and Scott to protect me. You both are boys. I can protect myself, but there are some things I can't handle so I will call you both." Olivia said. Olivia blushed at the thought of Stiles worrying about her. She turned to look at Scott, who had a disturbed face on. "What's wrong?" She asked him.

"I smell something." He said, walking to her window. He looked out, glaring at the person outside. Olivia stood up from the bed, looking out too. There was a black cameo parked at the front of the house. In front of it was the same man Olivia saw at the first lacrosse practice, Derek Hale.

"Who is he?" She asked him concerned.

"Derek Hale." Scott said.

"What is he doing here?" Stiles asked, walking towards them.

"He was on the lacrosse field a few weeks back. It was the day after Lydia's party. He was staring at me." Olivia told them. "Wait, so those times where you ran away from the field, were the times that you were transforming?" She asked him.

"Pretty much." Stiles said, shrugging. "He was about to eat me once."

"Damn," She mumbled. Olivia saw how Derek's eyes narrowed at her. "Why is he here?" She asked Scott.

Scott looked at her with a worried look. "I don't know." Scott said, walking away from the window.

Olivia noticed him getting his sweater. "Where are you going?" Olivia asked him, leaving her place next to the window.

Scott shrugged at her. "Outside, I want to know why the hell he knows where you live." Scott said to her before leaving her room.

Olivia sighed, following him. "Maybe, he just took the scent and follow it. Dogs do that too, and wolfs are dogs." Olivia told him. Stiles laughed at her, shaking his head. Scott rolled his eyes, walking out.  As she was about to step out of the room with Stiles, her brother appeared.

"Are you okay on your own? I didn't heard any strange sounds, so I'm guessing you guys didn't do anything naughty." Nick, her older brother, joked. Olivia's cheeks turn bright red as well as Stiles. She took a pillow from her bed, smacking him on the face. Nick gave me a look. "You don't hit your older brother.

Olivia groaned in annoyance. "We are friends." Olivia told him.

"How come you don't hand out with girls? Not that I don't disaprove of it, since most of my close friends are girls." Nick said to her.

Olivia rolled her eyes at him. "No, they haven't come here yet." She told him.

"Okay then, I have to go to an appointment." Nick said, kissing her cheek.

"Love you," She told him. "I would be responsible." She yelled, hoping he had left.

"Stiles don't even think of doing anything. I was your age once, I know what boys think and dream off." Nick yelled from the stairs. Olivia turned to look at Stiles with a raised eyebrow. Stiles' face turned pink.

"Why are you turning red Stiles?" The girl asked him, walking closer to him. Their faces were one inch apart. She found it highly amusing that Stiles was frozen on his spot. Just as a deer caught in the headlights. "Care to tell me what you think?" She teased, putting a hand on his shoulder. Stiles couldn't speak. Olivia smirked at him. "I think I'm actually flatered, but I wonder if you like me because of my looks or my personality." She told him innocently. Stiles eyes were glued on her.

"Well, umm I think both." He said quickly.

"You think?" She asked him curious.

"Well, you are always so smilely. That is what draw my attention. You are really pretty too. I think you are the nicest and prettiest in the school. Girls like you don't normally notice me. I mean, girls as pretty as you." Stiles said. She smiled at the dork who was standing right in front of her. I put my hands around his neck.

" I don't think that is possible. You are really funny and sweet," Olivia said. Olivia saw how Stile's eyes soften. He didn't fully believed her words. This was because he could hardly believe it himself, and less coming from a girl who he likes. Stiles smiled at her. Olivia's darted to the window where she say Scott being punched. Stiles noticed her body stiffen.

"What?" Stiles asked her. He followed her gaze to the window.

"Scott is being beat up outside. He is fighting with Derek." Olivia told Stiles, letting go of him. Olivia took her hoodie from her desk, racing down the stairs.

"Shit," He said, taking his sweater too. Olivia putted her shoes on in before walking out. She ran outside with Stiles on her heels. When she was close enough, she saw Scott punching Derek. "Stay a few feet away. We don't wan to get in the middle of a werewolf fight." Stiles warned her, walking close to her.

"He is a werewolf too?" She asked him.

"Yeah," Stiles sighed. "Wait, where are you going?" Stiles said alarmed, as she approached them both.

"Hey," Olivia yelled at both of them. They both stopped fighting, diverting their attention to her. "What is the problem with you?" The young girl yelled at Derek. "This is my house, my property. I want you out of it." She challenged him. Derek glared at her.

"You told her your secret." Derek said to Scott, ignoring the girl.

"She is my friend and I trust her." Scott snapped at him. Olivia stood between Scott and Stiles.

"I can hear you Hale." Olivia told him. Stiles put a on her waist, pulling her behind him. He promised himself to let any harm come to her.

"If a Hunter comes looking for you, don't blame me on your stupidity." Derek said. "We stick together, we suppose to trust each other. Each other, not some girl who is new to town." Derek said, pointing at the her.

"I wouldn't say a word. I don't put innocent people at risk." Olivia snapped at Derek. Scott looked at her. Derek growled at Olivia, making Scott growled at him back. "Now, you said that you want to help Scott. I want to help him too. So, stop being angry and relax." Olivia told him. Derek was surprised of her attitude, normally the girls will either stare or just walk away when they saw him. Olivia send him the bird, turning to return to her house. "And by the way, my name is Olivia." She told him over her shoulder. Olivia felt two pairs of feet following her.

"You want to die don't you." Stiles said to her. The sarcasm evident in his voice.

"No," She told him calmly, walking

"He is helping Scott control his anger issues." Stiles said, pointing his finger at Scott.

"Anger issues!" Scott complained.

"More like hairy issues." Olivia told him. He sent me a look. "Sorry,"

"Either way we have to deal with him." Stiles said. A knock on the door broke out their conversation. The young girl walked towards the door, with the two boys behind her. Olivia saw through the window that it was her parents. Olivia sent a nervous look to Scott and Stiles.

"My parents aren't as open minded as my brother. They don't like me hanging up with boys." She told them quickly. The two boys smirked at each other. Olivia opened the door to her parents. "Hey," she greeted them. She let them pass through the door, sending a nervous glance to the two boys. The parents stopped at the sight of the boys. "Dad, mom. This are my friends from school Scott and Stiles." I told them.

"School?" My father asked. "Where is your brother?" He asked her, not liking the idea of living her only daughter in the house alone with two teenage boys.

"He is on the grocery store." She told her father.

"I'm Scott McCall, your daughter studies with me." Scott said to them.

"Stiles Stilinski." Stiles said, waving at them.

"You are sheriff Stilinski's son. Nice to meet you young boy." Olivia's mom greeted them.

"They were just leaving." She told her parents, trying to avoid question that she knew were coming. The boys followed her outside.

"Your dad wasn't pleased with us." Stiles said.

"He is too protective." Olivia told him.

"Come on," Scott groan, dragging Scott away. When their car took off.

"She is so pretty." Stiles said when Scott got far enough from her house.

"You moved out from your chrush from Lydia?" Scott teased him. He was glad that at least he chose a girl  who played attention to him.

"Maybe," Stiles mumbles, tithing his hold of the car. Scott laughed, looking back at the road.
