Edge Of Tonight ⊳ Stiles Stilinski ✓2,704 words~14 min read

OLIVIA WALKED SILENTLY behind Scott and Stiles, who were too deep on their conversation to notice the girl behind them. "Boo!" She yelled, right next to their ears. The two best friends jumped their separate ways, getting ready to run away. When they reliased it was Olivia, and not some supernatural monster, both of their hearts slowed down.

Stiles narrowed his eyes at her. "What the hell?" Stiles said, clenching his heart. Olivia however, was smirking at both of them while she tried to hold back a laugh. However, it did not work, and now Olivia was giggling like a manic while holding her side.

Scott sighed, smiling softly at her. "Don't do that again." Scott said to her, out of breath. Olivia nodded at him, her giggles not leaving. Scott rolled his eyes at her as they both walked towards their next class. He couldn't stay mad for that long, specially with her. It seemed that he had taken a liking to the other new girl. She was fun to be around, and a nice person as well.

Stiles sighed, walking along with Scott. Olivia walked with them, having both boys at her sides. "Your faces though." Olivia told them, smiling evilly at them.

Stiles sighed, frowning at her. It was not - in Stiles' opinion - funny, specially when him and Scott had to be looking out for the Alpha. "It isn't funny." Stiles told her roughly.

Olivia rolled her eyes, putting a hand on his shoulder."Come on, Scott is not mad at me. I thought I was your favorite person in the entire school." Olivia joked, whispering in Stile's ear. Stiles heat turn a dark shade of pink because of her close proximity. Scott held back a laugh when he saw his best friend's pink face. Stiles gulped, not daring to turn around to face her.

Stiles took a deep breath before responding to that statement. "You are." He said quickly. Olivia looked at Scott, earning a proud look from him.

She noticed the grim look on their faces, and how stiff they were. "Why the long faces?" She asked them. Scott looked at Stiles alarmed. He did not want her to find out about the supernatural creatures that lurk over Beacon Hills, and Scott's hairy problem. They both made a pact that they will fight this with just the two of them, not getting anybody involved since it will be dangerous. Olivia noticed the knowing look they both shared. "Are you guys okay?" She asked them both.

"Good, we are good." Stiles said to her, turning to give her a smile.

Olivia could see through the fake smile. "You guys aren't telling me the full truth. What are you guys hiding?" She asked, looking at the two of them with a questioning look.

Scott knew that she will not let this conversation go easily, so he decided to change the theme. "Have seen Allison?" Scott asked her, hoping she would leave the conversation.

Olivia shook her head in denial. "Not today." Olivia said to them. She looked at the watch on her hand before turning back to the boys. "I have to get my things, see you in class boys." Both boys waved goodbye at her as she left.

Scott turned to Stiles, giving him an anxious look. "We have to tell her." Scott whispered to Stiles, who was watching the fading figure of Olivia. Scott sighed before slapping his arm, getting his attention. Stiles scowled at him. "Did you even heard me?" Scott asked him.

Stiles looked at him, before shaking his head in denial. "No, I was actually too busy admiring the view that Olivia. You can admire Allison, so I can admire Olivia." Stiles said to him. His sarcasm evident as always.

Scott sighed, rolling his eyes at him. "I think we should tell her. Maybe she can help us. Plus, we are getting to the point in which she is narrowing us down. It's better if we just tell her. It will be easier too. We don't have to keep lying to her. She is our friend." Scott explained.

Stiles' stiffen, shaking his head at him. "We can't. She would be in so much danger. Not with just the Alpha, but with Derek too. Plus, why would you want to tell her, and not your girlfriend?" Stiles said to him. Scott stayed quiet, watching as Stiles' worried about Olivia. "You want to protect Allison, but I want to protect Olivia too." Stiles told him. Scott smirked at Stiles once the words came out of his mouth.

"You really like her." Scott stated, smirking at him. Stiles shrugged, not looking at Scott as he feared his eyes will give his true feeling away. "Well, but we might need a little help here with the whole werewolf thing." Scott said to him, trying to reason with his friend. "She knows something is up. I think she will be a great addition." He added.

Stiles took his eyes away from Scott, and into Olivia who was making her way towards them until Lydia stopped her. "I hate you." Stiles said, looking at Olivia who was talking to Lydia. Olivia turned to look at them with a smile on her face.  The smile that melted the walls that protected Stiles' heart. The walls that he only thought Lydia will break.

Olivia sat on her usual sit behind Stiles. Scott's worried face from this morning has been replaced for a happy one. "Do you guys know what happen to the school bus?" Olivia asked the boys, leaning on her desk.

"No idea, but it looks bad." Stiles said, turning to look at her.

While writing on her notes Olivia listen to Stiles and Scott's conversation. "Maybe you caught a rabbit or something, and ate it." Stiles said to Scott.

"Raw?" Scott whispered in horror.

"No, you stopped to bake it in your little werewolf oven." Stiles snapped back. Olivia held a laugh. Olivia was truly confused on their theme of conversation, but that didn't stopped the amusement of Stiles' words.

"I think they found something." A girl said, walking towards the window. All the students stood up, looking through the glass. Olivia was standing next to Scott, behind her was Stiles. The students looked closely. Olivia let out a whisper, jumping a few feet back when the body woke up. Stiles

"It is okay. He got up, he is not dead. Dead guys can't do that." Stiles told Scott. Olivia looked at both weirdly.

As Scott and Stiles sat for lunch, another tray had joined them. The two best friend looked up to see Olivia, who was taking a seat next to Stiles. "Hello boys," Olivia said, smiling at the two of them. Scott waved at her. They both were surprised to see her, specially since they had seen her walking towards Lydia's table.

Stiles turned to look at her in confusion. "Why aren't you seating with Lydia?" Stiles asked her.

Olivia shrugged, looking at her food. "I prefer this company." Olivia told him, smiling a little bit. Scott gave her a genuine smile at her.

Stiles tilted his head to the side. "We are not the cool kids, you know." Stiles said, looking at her while she ate; something that made Olivia nervous but decided not to tell him anything. He could not believe an attractive girl like her would like to join them. Specially, when she could go to Lydia if she wanted to.

"I know. It is kind of obvious." Olivia told him, bringing him back to reality. Scott laughed at her words, while Stiles blushed. Olivia looked at the owner of the shadow that was casted on the table. Olivia smiled at Allison. "Hey Allison," Olivia greeted her as the other girl took a seat next to Scott.

"Hi," Scott said smiling at Allison with the look of lovestruck.

Stiles rolling her eyes at his best friend. He turned to look at Olivia that was sipping on her drink. "Did you had it planned out?" Stiles whispered in her ear. Olivia choked on her water, not expecting him to come close to her. Stiles' eyes widen when he saw what he had done. He patted Olivia's back as she coughed. When she had regained stability, she answered Stiles' question.

"No," Olivia whispered back with a small smile on her face.

Stiles sighed, looking at her. "You confuse me." Stiles said to her. Olivia rolled her eyes and took a seat next to Stiles. Stiles gulped, looking at Scott for help. His attention was bought back to the table when a voice broke the silence.

A tray was put in front of Stiles and Olivia. "We are seating with you today. Maybe keep Allison and Olivia company." Lydia said seating opposite to Olivia. She smiled at Olivia before she started to eat her food. Olivia looked Stiles who was shocked to see Lydia Martin sitting with them. Stiles choked on his water on he met Lydia's eyes.  Olivia rolled hers , smacking Stiles on the back of the head. Stiles glared at her.

"I just rescued you from a sure death if Jackson came right now. Plus, people eat here too. You can just drool over on the table" Olivia whispered to Stiles, her eyes still on Lydia.

Stiles scoffed at her. "I wasn't drooling." Stiles defended himself.

Scott snorted, earning Olivia's and Stiles' attention. "You were." Scott whispered to the duo. Olivia laughed at his words.

She clapped softly, faking a bow to Scott. "Thank you Scott." Olivia said, giving him a high five. Allison smiled at both of them. The two get along, almost like Stiles and him.

A body popped himself to the table. "Did you heard about the bus driver?" A guy said seating in front of Stiles. "I heard it was cougar." He said in a whispering voice.

"I heard it was a mountain lion." Jackson said to the guy. He looked non-interested, but that will be a lie.

Lydia rolled her eyes at him. "A cougar is a mountain lion." Lydia snapped at him. Olivia smirked at her. "Isn't it?" Lydia corrected herself, realizing what she said. Olivia rolled her eyes.

"Who cares? The guy is probably some homeless twick who is going to die anyway." Jackson said to Lydia.

"You are such a heartless jerk, aren't you? I still can't understand what Lydia sees in you." Olivia snapped at Jackson. The guy opposite to Stiles smirked at Olivia.

"Danny, nice to meet you. I like you." The boy, which sat in front of Stiles, said to her. Olivia waved at him.

"Olivia, nice to meet you too Danny." She said to him.

Stiles shifted on his seat, searching for his phone. He pulled it out, just to see the news on the man that got attacked. "Look, he is on the news." Stiles said, showing everyone the video.

Realization crossed Scott's face. "I knew the guy. He just to drive my school bus when I lived with my dad." Scott said to Olivia and Stiles.

"Can we please talk about something more fun?" Lydia asked. "Like, where are you going tomorrow night?" Lydia said to Scott and Allison. Allison looked at her. "You said Scott and you were hanging out together." Lydia added. Stiles and Olivia shared a curious look.

"We were thinking of what we were going to do?" Allison said before taking a sip of her water.

"Well, I'm not sitting at home again watching lacrosse videos. So, if we are going to do something together, we are doing something fun. Olivia you can come with Stiles." Lydia said, smiling at both Olivia and Allison. Stiles was now the one choking on water. He coughed reapetly as he was not expecting Lydia to plan a date for himself and Olivia. He would not complain though.

Scott looked at Olivia and Stiles for help. "Hang out?" Scott asked Allison. "Like them?" Scott stuttered, pointing at Jackson and Lydia.

"I guess, sounds fun." Allison said smiling at Scott.

"Why do you have to be so nice Allison." Olivia mumbled to herself. Stiles gave Allison a tired look. Stiles nodded at Olivia's words, agreeing with her statement.

"You know what else sounds fun?" Jackson said showing us a fork. "Stabbing myself on the face with this fork." He said.

"Let me help you." Olivia said, standing up. Stiles put both of his hands on her hips, pulling her back to her seat.

"How about bowling?" Lydia asked. "You love to bowl." She said to Jackson, sending a wink in his direction.

Jackson scoffed at Lydia. "Yeah with actual competition." Jackson said to her.

Allison leant on the table as she scoffed at Jackson's words. "How can you know we are not actual competition?" Allison asked him. Olivia high fived her as she send a smirk towards Jackson.

"I think he is just scare, Ally." Olivia said, leaning on the table as well. Lydia held back a laugh while she watched the two girls made fun of the school's jerk. Jackson glared at the two girls.

Allison smirked at Olivia before turning to Scott. "Can you bowl?" Allison asked Scott.

Scott looked at Allison with an anxious look. "Sort off." Scott answered.

Jackson scoffed at them. He glared at Scott. "Sort off or yes?" Jackson challenged him.

Scott leant further on the table, glaring at Jackson. "Yes. In fact, I'm a great bowler." Scott said to Jackson. Stiles held back the urge to face palm.

☒ ☒ ☒ ☒ ☒ ☒

"You are terrible bowler." Stiles told Scott as the left their last class. Olivia was standing on the other side of Scott, hearing Stiles' defeated voice.

Scott cringed, remembering his words to Jackson. "I know. I'm such an idiot." Scott told both of his friends. Olivia put a supporting hand on his shoulder.

"Then why will you say you are great at bowling?" Olivia asked as she tighten the hold of her books.

"I didn't want Jackson to win the debate." Scott told her. Olivia nodded to him in understanding.

Stiles sighed, shaking his head in denial. "It is like watching a car wreck. First it turns into a group date, and out of nowhere comes that phrase 'hanging out'." Stiles said to his friend. "You don't hang out with hot girls." He said. Olivia raised her eyebrows at both of them. "Once you hang out, you might start being her gay best friend. Maybe Dany and you can hang out." Stiles told Scott.

"I'm really that hot?" Olivia spoke up. The boys stopped right on their tracks, slowly turning towards her. They looked at her with wide eyes. It was a blunt question that they did not know how to answer.

Stiles scratched the back of his neck, looking at the floor. "Well," Stiles couldn't finish his sentence.

Scott looked at Stiles before looking back at Olivia. "You are hot." Scott finished, smiling at Olivia. Olivia smiled at him, rolling her eyes.

"Thank you, but aren't you suposse to be dating Allison?" Olivia joked, as she shoved Scott jokingly.

Scott shrugged at her words. "I'm, but I do have to admit I have a hot friend." Scott joked. Olivia smiled at him. Stiles glared at his friend. Scott looked at his watch before looking back at his friend. "I have to go, bye guys." He said running off.

The both watched them go. Olivia looked at Stiles with curiosity. "Are you going bowling?" Olivia asked Stiles.

"No," He answered.

"Me neither." Olivia sighed. They both walked to the front of the school, watching the people leave. Olivia caught sight of the car that belonged to her brother. "My ride is waiting to me outside. See you Stiles." Olivia said kissing him on the cheek. Stiles watched as a car pulled over, in front of the school.

"See you later Olivia," Stiles yelled as the girl opened the car. Olivia waved back at him before leaving. Stiles sighed, shaking his head. "And to answer your question. You are damn hot." He said to himself, watching her walk away.
