Deacon âI should have followed her.â I sighed as I sat in my chair.
âItâs okay bro.â Gabriel said as he sat down across from me.
âNot itâs not!â I yelled as I stared at him. âI made the worse first impression ever! She hates me. Absolutely hates me! I can never make it up to her.â
âTrust me. We know how that feels.â Zane whispered sadly as he sat down next to Gabriel.
âWe totatlly messed up.â Blade growled. âI hate this.â
âYou and me both.â I whimpered.
âLetâs fix this.â Blade said.
âHow?â I asked him. âShe hates us.â
âWell get off your lazy ass and letâs go apologize. Donât leave until she hears you out.â
I smiled at the idea and stood up.
âCome on guys.â I said as I ran around my desk and pulled them both to their feet.
âWhere are we going?â Gabriel asked.
âGoing to go apologize.â I smiled.
I hope this works.
Ace âFuck him!â I growled as I punch the punching bag. âThis bag is his fucking little face and Iâm going to rip it to shreds.â
âDonât kill it.â Zylen laughed as he pulled me away from the bag.
âI had my entire speech planned out. I knew exactly what I was going to say to him. But nope. Stupid rogues had to ruin it.â I growled as I took a sip from my water bottle.
âAlpha!â April yelled as he ran down.
âWhat?â I asked looking at her.
âAlpha Deacon and two others are coming towards the border.â
âWhy?â I asked.
April shrugged. âI donât know. But it canât be good.â
I growled and walked towards her. âGet the fighters ready. I donât want him stepping foot on my land.â
âYes alpha.â April bowed and ran out of the gym.
âIf he wants a fight, letâs give him one.â Ava growled.
âLetâs go girls.â I said.
Zylen and Colby both nodded and followed me out.
Once we touched the grass, we shifted.
âHeâs walking towards the west border alpha.â Wes, one of the twins, linked me.
âThank you.â I replied back.
âWhat are you going to do?â Colby asked as she looked at me.
âTell him to get the fuck off my land.â I growled as I pushed my wolf harder.
âThereâs the Ace we know.â Zylen snickered.
I smirked as we came closer to the border, but frowned when I saw Deacon yelling at my patrol.
I came up on them and let out a loud growl.
My pack members flinched and knelt down to me.
âIâm impressed.â Deacon smirked.
I growled and snapped my teeth at him.
His smirk dropped and he looked away.
Thatâs what I thought.
I walked behind a tree and grabbed the clothes that I had.
Once I walked back out, Deacon looked up at me.
âWhat the fuck do you want?â I asked.
He went to take a step on my land, but my members growled at him.
âDonât step on my land.â I threatened.
âI just want to talk.â Deacon snapped.
I let out a humorless laugh. âTalk? You donât talk to people. You kill people.â
âExcuse me?â Deacon growled.
âYouâre excused.â I smiled.
âThatâs not what I meant.â Deacon growled.
âOoh look at his face! Itâs turning red!â Ava teased.
I had to suppress a giggle at her comment.
âI really do want to talk Ace.â Deacon said softly.
âReally? Because last time I checked, you came here to kill me and take over my pack!â I yelled.
Deacon sighed. âAnd Iâm sorry. I will admit that I wasnât thinking. My pack is getting bigger and I needed more land.â
âYou do know that you arenât helping this situation at all, right?â I asked. âJust because your pack is growing doesnât mean you wipe out other packs!â
âIâve always done that. It was a natural reaction.â Deacon defended.
âHow stupid can you fucking be?â I asked. âIâm the alpha of this land. Not you! This is my land, not yours! And itâs going to fucking stay that way you idiot!â
âYou donât have to yell at him.â Gabriel snapped.
âOh shut your fucking face!â Zylen growled.
Gabriel looked shocked but kept his mouth closed.
Good boy. You donât want to get Zylen angry.
Deacon closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
Oh good Lord. What, is he going to preach now?
This is seriously starting to get annoying.
âI just want to talk to you Ace.â Deacon begged. âPlease.â
âHmm let me think about it.â I said as I looked up and tapped my chin. âNo.â
âWhy not?â Deacon asked as he clenched his fists.
Damn. He must not be used to someone saying no to him. Well he better get used to it.
âBecause I donât want to talk to a psychotic killer.â I said in a duh-tone.
âI am not a psychotic killer.â
I laughed at that.
âAre you kidding me?â I chuckled. âSomeone who plans to kill a pack because he needs more land, someone who kills everyone that says no to him, someone who kills anyone that is in his way is a psychotic killer. And that is what you are.â
âWell that hurt.â Deacon mumbled.
âBetter get used to it bub.â I snapped as I turned around and took a step.
âAce come back here!â Deacon growled. âWe are mates for a reason.â
âYouâre joking right?â I chuckled as I turned back around.
Deacon shook his head. âYou havenât noticed?â
âNotice what?â I asked confused.
âWhat is this idiot blabbering about?â Ava asked annoyed.
âOur wolf forms. All six of us actually.â He said as he pointed to me, the girls, and his friends.
âWhat are you talking about?â Zylen asked.
âI have a white wolf with a silver sun above my left eye and Ace has a silver wolf with a white moon above her left eye. Gabriel has a red wolf with a blonde circle around its left eye and Zylen has a blonde wolf with a red circle around its eye. Zane has a black wolf with a red stripe across the left eye and Colby has a red wolf with a black stripe across the left eye.â Deacon explained. âWe are all meant to be.â
I gulped in nervousness. I didnât realize that.
âShit.â Zylen linked as she looked at me.
âThat is a strong point.â Colby added.
âThat is only a coincidence.â I defended as I turned around.
âNo itâs not.â Deacon smiled. âWe were paired for a reason.â
Okay. This has to end.
I turned around and faced him. âYou know what. This has to end.â
Deacon gulped. âW-what are you saying?â
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
âAce?â Zylen and Colby asked.
I opened my eyes again and looked Deacon in the eye. âUs. The only way youâre ever going to understand my pain, is ending this.â
âA-Ace.â Deaconâs voice cracked as he took a step towards me. âNo. Please.â
Everyone at the border stood till waiting for my next move.
I stood tall and looked at him. âI, Ace Winter, reject you, Deacon Forkner, as my mate.â
I winced as I felt a pain in my heart but I tried to not let it show.
Deaconâs face held pain and sorrow.
I looked away as he fell to his knees and a tear slipped from his eye.
âA-Ace.â Deacon croaked. âPlease. No.â
âIâm sorry Deacon.â My voice quiet.
I shifted into my wolf and ran. Ran away from the scene.
The last thing I heard was Deaconâs pain-filled howl.
