There are so many ways to look at the world and why it is the way it is, and how we could die, how we could live, what would happen if I turn into a spirit or the worry or longing of becoming a yokai if you truly wanted. Although deep down we are still living, right now, you are living. A fault of dying becomes a big thought in all our minds: what happens after my body gives out, leaving the spirit roaming away?
The answer is not found. I suppose if you truly wanted, you could make up a whole new world that brings out the uniqueness of what happens after you die. Yet maybe it is true, still deep down we will not quite know for sure what happens, and we should live and care for how we are living now instead of writing a thick paged book of how your uncle has saw the eyes of the higher being, which were just two ingrown grapes sitting in a vine that were in twined which looked like a face.
Yet I do know one thing: I had met Satsu, the spirits of this world, and now I'm rummaging through my old unkept room right next to his. My time has come in this world, and then I'm back living the life I had once loved.
"Don't forget the kimono." Satsu reminded me. I looked behind me, putting all of the belongings that were given to me hear in a small suitcase, which once you closed it no matter how much was inside it would still close by the power of the magic of the spirits. I looked at the one kimono that sat in my dresser.
"There's so much your mother has given me... Are you sure?" I asked, yet Satsu smiled, folding his arms. We looked older now; maybe in my world we're about the age of eighteen ranging to twenty-one. I put the last kimono inside the suitcase and shut it tightly, it made a slight click and it was closed. Satsus back leaned against the frame of the door, and slid the door open sideways, and then we were off.
After a moment, my eye captured the view of a yellow wrapper sitting in the corner of the basement. I walked over to it and picked it up, and then the yellow made my eyes shimmer with golden light.
"Satsu." I walked towards him, holding the yellow wrapper in my hands.
"The gooey rice cake candies."
Satsu took the wrapper in his hand, and we remembered how we had eaten them in his room and played around. Flashbacks were abundant in our minds.
"I remember." He chuckled, and gave it back to me.
"Just keep it. Remember me by candy."
We laughed as we walked up the stairs, walking past the kitchen. The spirits waved at us and cried their goodbyes. "Goodbye Eyra and Satsu!" Some spirits were crying tears. Soon we were back in Utmas room. There she was waiting, and she smiled at us fondly.
"Satsu, we are building you a large room soon so you no longer have to live in the basement." Satsu bowed and told her; "Thank you." Her eyes glistened with fondness, and she walked towards me.
"You're leaving so soon? It's only been perhaps a hundred years." We all laughed. A hundred years wasn't long in the spirit world, and of course it could have been my whole life in the human world yet I'm still here. We all said our goodbyes, and Utmas twins walked towards me. They have grown; they were kids now. The happy one hugged my leg while the other squeezed my hand fondly. I hugged them both as Utma was grinning, and then moments after having a couple drinks it was time.
"And soon I'll see you." Utma said as we walked out of the corridor, Satsu decided to walk with me before I went through the abandoned house, Satsu wanted to say goodbye before It's time to depart the spirit world.
Utma kissed me on my four head, the twins hugged me and then we were gone. Satsu and I are walking out of the spirit house now as most of the spirits pulled their heads out from the windows and walked through the doors and waved pieces of cloth and streamers and saying their last goodbyes.
"Be safe Eyra! May greatness be bestowed your humanly presence!" They all cried. I waved at them as Satsu looked up at the spirit house; he smiled warmly.
"It seems so much brighter now, as if you made everyone have hope."
We walked through the long planes of grass, everything looked healthy. The village was again empty during this time of year because it was not time for them to celebrate their holidays, yet we walked through and noticed the small creek and how I had made Satsus bucket because of how he needed water.
"I remember." He answered my thoughts as if he knew what I was going to ask. I chuckled, and we walked through the quiet whispering sounds of the empty village. And then we came across a stone path walkway; I never noticed the path until now. The stepping-stones were mended into different faces; such as one was happy, sad, grumpy, sleepy, and angry. We stepped on different ones until we came across a bridge and walked over, until we reached an abandoned house over a small creek with another small bridge.
Satsu and I stopped out looking the view of the abandoned house. The roof was painted green, as the walls were painted red. The tall grass reached over the sides of the house, which then it looked cracked. Satsu held my hand until he let it go, and he nudged me.
"Go, and don't look back."
"Now?" I cried.
"Yes. Don't look."
"Already?"
"Yes!"
"No."
Tears swelled up from my eyes until Satsu nudged me again, only this time it was softer with fondness.
"This is not the end, even if I have to I will come and find you." Satsu said, I clenched my hands as I worried.
"You will?"
"Yes. Now go, I won't forget you. I'll just be working in the spirit house. Just know as you are living in that world, just know I am right inside that abandoned shrine working to see you again."
"Okay." The tears were clearing up now, and now I'm walking over the small bridge and into the abandoned house.
"Goodbye, Dragon boy!" I cried as I walked inside the opening of the spirit house, and an image flashed back within my mind. I saw Satsu smile at me with fondness after I said 'Goodbye, Dragon boy!' as if he was saying goodbye in past tense. I'm walking inside the abandoned shrine as Satsu stood there looking at the doors, which I closed behind me, and then he turned around and he was gone. Yet inside my heart knew that I would never forget Satsu as long as I live, and he will never be forgotten.
