Pattering in the darkened room voiced in my ears. My eyes widened at the sudden aspect. I'm back within the shrine. Everything's the same; nothing is touched or distilled. I looked around and my mouth rambles on, I am a prisoner of my own thoughts. "You are a fool." A voice says to me as I walk around the room helplessly. No one is around. Yet constant negative energy is running through my veins. My eyes water as I look around, I called out for the land spirit. No answer. I call out for the familiar. No apologies. My knees land on the ground with the same teakettle that sat on the table moments after. I look over at the cup of tea. The liquid tea within the cup wavers in motion. I could see Satsu.
'Eyra!' I could see his mouth motioning my name. Yet I fell lost, helpless. I hold up the tea up in front of me. I cry out for Satsu. Suddenly a shifting movement came from a nearby window. I can see Satsus reflection.
I stumble to my feet, and look out the window, and I pounded on it violently. Satsu looked up, and he looked at me in the eye. He comes closer, realizing that I can see him and he can see me, until right when he touches the window his reflection disappears. A weeping sound came from my lower body. I turn around. I walk down the next corridor, and I saw a large mirror standing in the middle of the room patiently waiting for my presence. Again a reflection appears, a figure emerges from the mirror, he is no longer a reflection. It is the land god. This time he had taken his final form, a dragon, not like Satsu at all although they're appearance is similar. His long neck was colored black scales; his eyes glower with violet blue speckled eyes with violet hair dipped with blue essence, which appeared to be a color from the essence of water. His mouth curls into an evil sly grin, panting for air and for water.
"Do you see why I need thee'? Such beauty as you doesn't deserve a novice water god. You should belong to me. Without you, my whole body transforms into this. You love me. You deserve me. Satsu is merely an idiot, he's mindless and he has no idea that you are and what he wants. He is a fool." His body walked towards me, his head running against my leg with a silent purr, I stepped back. He looked at me again overtaken by my harsh reactions to his affection.
"You are just experiencing emotional trama, you are so obsessed with yourself. This is why you need me. To set you back into your rightful place. A female with no higher means, just a simple human female who deserves to be loved and controlled by me."
"No!" I cry out, I lift out my magatama beads and hold them in my hands from my sudden course of action. This land god was not the only negative voice who lingered in my mind like unchained thoughts. And he will not be the last.
"You are just another spiritual kami that wants to control others. You will not be the last even, yet I cannot believe you or listen to you. This is my life; I am inclined to do whichever I choose. You do not deserve me nor do I deserve you, yet I can see kindness in you. You are just caught up with the idea that because I am a female you should own me like a master to a stray cat who has never had a drop of milk, yet that is not the case. You are kind. And you are a higher being, yet you need to release this desire of owning something you cannot bond with."
The dragon slithered beside me, his eyes looked into mine. His whiskers touched my face, and he whispered quietly against my ear.
"You shall never know if I am kind."
The doors shut forcefully, another figure emereged. A serpent slithered beside me, hissed quietly before itself. It was the familiar.
"Master does not listen to a simpleton like you, a novice, a commoner, or a human itself." The familiar hissed, and bit my neck. Venom spewed into my vein as the land god taken me away, and locked me away in a bedroom full of flowers. Suddenly the land god became in his normal form, his eyes looked into mine.
"This is your room. You will obey me wither you like it or not." He walked closer to me, and pulled me up from my knees. I struck him, his face moved to the side. My magatama beads glowed from my wrist, and suddenly a large beckoning light shown in the room. A reflection shown in the mirror, it was Satsu. He walked out of the mirror, and he lifted his fan against the land gods neck.
"You will never understand how I feel." Satsu hissed, and kicked the land god. He flew against the wall and he started to chuckle madly.
"You are a fool. You let a girl effect you so much, perhaps you are even becoming a human yourself."
Satsu walked up closer towards him, and he threw his fan against his neck one again.
"At least I would know who is special to me and I accept them on how they would feel."
"Whose they?" The land god chuckled. "You aren't making any sense!"
"By they I mean Eyra. She's been someone I cared for even for centuries to come. She is not someone who should not be defined by a female, or even a human girl. Yet a kindred spirit. Someone I have had a connection with, someone who is so special to me, that I will never forget."
The land god chuckled madly. "If that's how you feel."
The land god threw his head into Satsus neck, and bit him. Fangs stabbed through Satsu. A violent course of action hit me, I looked at the land god with no respect.
"You are turning into a yokai, each minute you let this darkness consume you, you are turning into a dark helpless soul with no means."
The land god threw Satsu to the ground. I hid my magatama beads behind me.
"Make another move, you are going into the underworld." I said. The land god growled, and walked beside me. His head cocked back a bit. "How so?"
"How so... That you will never realize you're already there!" I held the beads in front of the land gods face. "Vengeful yokai, you helpless soul! Flee!" I cried, and I jumped and every ounce of my body stepped upon him, and with a forceful power I jumped and grabbed Satsus fan from the ground and flung the fan, then it flew and speared the land god in the neck. His helpless cry made this demension crumble, I had to hurry and get Satsu and run though the reflection quickly as I can before it's too late.
I held Satsu in my arms; the fan and my beads flowered in the darkness. The land god was nearly paralyzed; he was going into the depths of the underworld. I pulled Satsu and held him as the fan pierced through all of the broken furniture and debris all around. Something grabbed me by the ankle. A dark hand emerged; I called to wake Satsu, yet he was paralyzed by the venoms power. I lifted the fan upwards into the air and called out, until Satsu awoke, he grabbed the fan as his eyes glowered with glistening light. He was transforming, his torso glowed with raging fire. I lay on his back the hand slipped away as even more yokai's emerged; he flew upwards avoiding the yokai at all costs. He roared with all his might, and bite away a three headed yokai and flew through an open reflection. Before I knew it, the underworld was past us, and we flew outside of the room and fled. The darkness closed behind us, Satsu transformed back to himself, his knees skidded across the room as out bodies flung out of the shrine, and all of it collapsed behind us. The ash and the broken debris, Satsu laid on the ground in front of the abandoned shrine that fell. His eyes were closed as his body grew cold, I ran up to him quickly as I could.
"Satsu I am so sorry. I'm sorry to put you through this. I'm so selfish."
Tears shed from my wide eyes; I tried not to cry yet my emotions seem to always get the best of me. "Please be okay."
Suddenly I looked on my hands, a piece of some sort of elixir was found. I looked at it and looked all around. "Where did this come from?" I said aloud, until suddenly I saw a figure. I tried to catch who it might have been, yet it vanished within thin air. I lifted the elixir against Satsus mouth; it was in a thin tube with a cork. I flung the cork beside me and gave most of the elixir to Satsu and I quickly pulled it away, and his eyes opened slowly as he coughed, and looked at me.
"I'm sorry that I am so careless to let you slip away from me so easily."
A hopeful sensation came to me. I grinned like a lucky turtle that had finally reached the finish line; I hugged Satsu in my arms. "And I will never forget you as long as I live."
