Chapter 12 of 26

Blissful Night

Taking Spirits Beyond809 words~5 min read

After becoming full in the stomach after eating so much of Satsus gooey rice cake candies, the both of us had nearly passed out from eating too much. The rice cake candies that we ate; Satsu had told me the candies were made with the best rice from the rice patches up north ways down from a shrine. He said the rice said to be made delicately, and his father gave him a patch years ago. Satsu wanted to hurry to eat all of the pieces so that his father wouldn't come and assume that he never ate his candies he had gave him in reality Satsu was savoring the candies in case his father would take a while to return, or perhaps never. He looked giddy and happy. The candies made him happy, and just knowing that his father is coming to visit, brightened Satsus spirits up greatly.

"I'm not sure what's going to happen though." Satsu had told me. We didn't know what was going to happen, yet Satsu was still eager for his father to arrive.

"My father and Utma don't get along very well. But I'm still kind of curious to see what will happen... You never know what the future holds as the past grows and fades right past you." He said.

Satsu also mentioned that his father was a Kitsune. First no one knew; since he was good at keeping his nine tails hidden as he was his human form. A Kitsune was a fox like spirit, which roamed the lands and regions of the spirit world. He had multiple children with two other mistresses since Utma. One was a mother down in a village who lived in a cottage with pine trees borne back beside the cottage, while the other mistress was a woman who sold her body to wandering spirits of the west, all of them trying to find their rightful place in the spirit world after they had came from the human world. She would try to seduce them; sell her body, and they would walk on not knowing that they had been doing; until one fateful day after another,Satsus father came into his human form and pursued her. Right after a few moments she had bared three children, not effected by Satsus genes of becoming a Kitsune.

"I have about six brothers and sisters." Satsu explained, " I hardly know any of them. I never get to see them. Sometimes I see my little sister, but that's about it. She sometimes picks rice up from on top of the mountains and pulls water out of ponds and rivers. One time she had came across a river, she found a kappa." Satsu laughed slightly as he said this, until my eyebrows rose greatly.

"What was a kappa?" I asked.

"A kappa is a spirit that lives in rivers and ponds, or even hot springs. They are green looking creatures with a beak and have a cap on its head. And some say when you bow down kindly to them, they bow down as well, yet letting water fall out of their cap they have on top of their heads, causing them to lose some of there power." Satsu covered his mouth from laughing to hard. "And my sister happened to find one and bow down to him. He did; and he realized his water had leaked from its cap, and she swore that he said or made a noise that came out of his mouth something more like; 'Doh!" When he noticed that the water leaked out from within its cap, and she ran away as quickly as she could and she couldn't stop herself from laughing. She said it was to be the funniest thing she had ever done." Satsu looked with an excessive sensation of happiness, it was nice to see him having fun and at ease.

I smiled as Satsu nearly started to wheeze too much with laughter, and we hurried and ate even more candies and we jumped on top of his mat, tickling and poking each other with giggling and excessive emotions of delight; the night went on and on endlessly. We didn't care what would happen to us as long as we were found to be happy and with one another. It didn't matter if the roof would concave or the walls crumble down upon us and the ground becoming a dark deep hole, what mattered most of this moment that we were happy and not becoming controlled or trapped by the weaves of the strings of Utmas web; but that we had done our dues and we were finally free and we could be ourselves and who we really were inside us again. Just a night with Satsu made me happy, hopefully these days will even become just as blissful as this one.
