OUTSIDE MYSTIC FALLS HIGH SCHOOL, Lilura and Klaus could hear a female's voice travel across the field in a crystal clear frequency.
"We're about to be seniors. These are the memories that will stay with us forever, and if we don't..."
"Aw," Lilura smiled, "They're about to be seniors!"
Klaus cracked his neck. "It's a shame we have to kill them first."
Lilura whipped out her knife, "I wonder where Damon is."
"Patience, love," The Hybrid gently put down her arm. "We've got to see the doppleganger first."
Lilura sighed, "Oh, alright."
They breezed through the doors with a bounce in their steps.
Before entering, Klaus stopped and turned around, a strange sort of smile on his lips. Before Lilura could ask him why he stopped, Klaus murmured, "Your eyes...they light up at the prospect of danger."
He shoved the doors open, "I like it."
ââââ Î ââââ
Klaus and Lilura were hiding behind a set of lockers.
"Why is it you vampires have a flair for the dramatics?" The enchantress asked, thinking back to the time her and Damon had squatted in the bushes, waiting for the exact moment to reveal themselves to Jules and the werewolves.
"And you're not dramatic?" Klaus rounded on her.
"Do you see me hiding out in the hallways for a girl? I think the fuâ"
"Shhhhh! She's coming."
Elena opened the doors, and Klaus sped over to her with his creepy smile.
"There's my girl," He hummed.
Lilura waved.
Elena paled and took a step back, "Klaus! Lilura!"
She quickly tried to flee, which Lilura commended, save for the untied shoestrings that inhibited her success.
Klaus scoffed at the sad attempt, "You are supposed to be dead. What are we going to do about that?"
Klaus took a hold of Elena's right arm and made Lilura grasp onto the other.
"You put a rather large kink in my plans, sweetheart. The whole point of breaking the curse and becoming a hybrid was to make more hybrids. I haven't been able to do that. Now my bet is, it has something to do with the fact that you're still breathing," He growled.
"A bet again, sweetheart? You know I always win," Lilura chuckled.
"If you're going to kill me, just do it!"
The Gilbert said, big brown eyes staring up to Klaus and Lilura with defiance.
"So you finally grew a backbone," Lilura stated, crossing her arms.
"We won't kill you yet, not until I know I'm right. But I do have ways of making you suffer," Klaus supplied, yanking Elena in the Gymnasium after Lilura flounced in.
She cupped her hands and shouted in her best American accent, "Attention, seniors. You have officially been busted. Prank night is over. Head on home."
Lilura turned around, "How was that?"
The Hybrid shrugged, "Not as good as mine."
Lilura huffed and stepped aside, placing an observant eye on the doppelganger.
She wasn't planning on being hit with a fire extinguisher this time.
"You two. I remember you," Klaus mused, pointing to a boy and a girl.
The girl furrowed her eyebrows, "I'm sorry. Who are you?"
"Oh, don't worry, I wasn't in my right head last time we met." Klaus stared deep into her eyes. "Lift your foot up, please, Dana."
The girl's eyes grew to the size of dinner plates when her body obeyed Klaus Mikaelson immediately. Satisfied with her compliance, Klaus moved over to the boy beside her, who looked like he was going to pee his pants.
"If she drops her foot, Chad, I want you to beat her to death. Understood?"
Chad nodded.
"Don't, Klaus. You don't have to hurt anybody," Elena whimpered, frantically searching for a way out.
The Hybrid laughed, "Oh, come on, love. Of course I do."
ââââ Î ââââ
"Keep it up," Klaus said, pointing to a struggling Dana.
"Where's Stefan? What did you do to him?"
Lilura whipped out her trusty knife and watched as it glinted, "Stefan's on a time out."
The doors opened with a rumble, and then Bonnie Bennet was walking in with the look of a dangerously determined woman.
"Bonnie, get out of here!" Elena screamed, shrugging out of Klaus' hold.
"Ah, I was wondering when you'd show up. Now we can get started," The Hybrid grinned merrily.
To the two human hostages, he said, "Ah, Dana, why don't you relax? You and Chad sit tight."
"I assume you're the reason Elena's still walking around alive?"
"That's right. If you want to blame someone, blame me."
Lilura chuckled, strolling over to the circle of conflict. "Oh, there's really no need for blame. Just your witchy interference seems to have caused some undesirable side effects. And since you caused the problem, we're going to have you find the fix."
Rebekah entered with a semi conscious Tyler Lockwood.
"Get off of me!" The werewolf howled.
"Uncanny timing, Bekah," Lilura said."It's almost like you waited for the exact moment."
Her last statement was directed to Klaus, just so he could see her point that all vampires hide out somewhere until it is the perfect time to make an entrance.
Divas.
"I'd like you all to meet my sister Rebekah. Word of warning...She can be quite mean," Klaus gestured to the blonde.
"Don't be an ass," was her response, paired with a shove of Tyler to Klaus' direction.
"Leave him alone!" Elena whined again.
Everyone else ignored her.
"I'm going to make this very simple...Every time I attempt to turn a werewolf into a vampire hybrid, they die during the transition. It's quite horrible, actually," Klaus explained methodically the same way a doctor would list medication to a patient. He grunted as he force fed a defiant Tyler some blood.
"I need you to find a way to save my hybrids, Bonnie. And for Tyler's sake...You better hurry."
Then, without warning, Klaus broke Tyler's neck like a barbie doll.
"He killed him," Matt gasped, eyes hollow and empty after witnessing the inhuman act.
"He's not dead. Klaus's blood will turn him into a vampire," Lilura said, swinging her knife around.
"And if Bonnie's successful, he'll live through his transition. Go on, then. Go and fetch your grimoires and enchantments and what-not. I'll hold on to Elena...for safe-keeping," Klaus stated.
Begrudgingly, Bonnie and Matt left.
"So this is the latest doppelgänger," Rebekah sneered. "The original one was much prettier."
"Enough, Rebekah. Take the wolf boy elsewhere, would you?" Klaus growled.
"Just ignore her. Petty little thing," Klaus whispered to Elena, smiling brightly as Rebekah exited the Gym.
The doors swung open yet again, and then came the hero.
"Klaus," Stefan said. He watched the siren twirl her knife. "Lilura."
"Come to save your damsel, mate?" Klaus trilled.
Lilura chuckled in response, yawning with her pretty cat like eyes. "I really do hope you've come to grovel."
"I came to ask for your forgiveness. And pledge my loyalty," Stefan stated, looking between Lilura and Klaus. "Please."
"Well, you broke that pledge once already," The Hybrid shrugged.
"Elena means nothing to me anymore. And whatever you ask of me...I will do."
Foolish, Lilura shook her head.
"Fair enough. Let's drink on it," Klaus grinned.
"Kill them," The hybrid challeneged, pointing to Dana and Chad. "What are you waiting for? Kill them."
"No! Stefan, don't. He's not going to hurt me. He already said â"
Elena flew across the room.
Literally.
"Damn," Lilura whistled lowly, shaking her head in disbelief at Klaus. "Why'd you never use that in the bedroom?"
Klaus chuckled, and his eyes flashed gold, "Baby, you know I did."
"Elena!" Stefan cried, snapping both of their attention back to the situation at hand.
"She means nothing to you? Your lies just keep piling up," Klaus smirked.
"Let her go! I'll do whatever you want, you have my word!"
"Ah Stef," Lilura giggled, circling him like a vulture waiting to swoop down on its prey, "You see, your word doesn't mean much. We lived by your word all summer."
"During which time I never had to resort to this," The Original almost looked solemn.
He took Stefan by the neck.
"Stop fighting."
The younger vampire frantically shook his head, "Don't do this, don't do this."
"I didn't want to. All I wanted was your allegiance. Now I'm going to have to take it," Klaus growled.
"Don't...Don't..."
The Hybrid turned around to face Lilura, as if asking for permission. She gave him a slow smile of approval, which he reciprocated. Although the enchantress abhorred violence and getting her hands dirty, she was all for in this instance. Stefan had betrayed their trust, and Lilura did not take that mistake lightly.
"You will do exactly as I say when I say it. You will not run, you will not hide, you will simply just obey."
Stefan's forest eyes glazed over.
"No. Stefan!" Elena said. Lilura sped to the girl and made sure she did not disrupt Klaus.
"Now kill them. Ripper."
Now the true animal had arrived. She watched as Stefan Salvatore succumbed to his animalistic senses, fangs protruding from his gums and baring them for the world to see. He quickly sped to Dana and Chad.
"It's always nice to see a vampire in his true element. The species has become such a broody lot," Klaus mused, cocking his head to Lilura's direction. They were watching Stefan drain the humans dry in mild interest.
"Mhm, I agree," She said, scratching her eyebrow with the blunt part of her knife.
"No," The Gilbert sighed, "You did this to him."
"I invited him to the party, love. He's the one dancing on the table."
Rebekah rushed into the gym and headed straight for Elena. "Where is it?! Where's my necklace?"
"What are you talking about?" Klaus sniffed.
"She has my necklace. Look." The female Original proceeded to shove a phone in her brother's face.
Lilura clapped in delight at the new piece of information.
"Well, well. More lies," Klaus sang.
"Where...is it?" Rebekah seethed.
Elena shook her head. "I don't have it anymore."
"You're lying!"
And then Rebekah was on top of the Gilbert, fangs elongated and ready to puncture.
"Knock it off!" Klaus said, prying his sister off the human.
"Make her tell me where it is, Nik!"
Lilura coughed, tuning up her natural siren charm. "Where's the necklace, sweetheart? Be honest."
"I-I'm telling the truth," Elena insisted, shaking her head as if to get rid of a fly when Lilura's gaze left her. "Katherine stole it."
"Of course," Lilura laughed dryly. "Of course that skank has it."
"Well, that's unfortunate. If we had the necklace it would make things a whole lot easier for your witch, but since we're doing this the hard way, let's put a clock on it, shall we?" Klaus
bellowed, pointing to the scoreboard on the wall.
He took Stefan by the shoulders, "Twenty minutes. If Bonnie hasn't found a solution by then, I want you to feed again. Only this time, I want you to feed on Elena. You know you want to."
"No, Klaus! Don't do this to him!" Elena shrieked.
"No one leaves. If she tries to run, fracture her spine," Klaus ordered, holding open the door for Lilura and Rebekah.
They swept out of the Gym in glamorous fury.
ââââ Î ââââ
After double checking for Klaus, Bonnie prodded Matt awake.
"As soon as you're feeling better, I'm going to kill you," She frowned, brown eyes wide in relief.
"It worked. I saw her. I saw Vicki," Matt grinned.
"You did?"
"She said she had a message for you. From the witch that put the hybrid curse on Klaus. She said that Elena shouldn't have survived Klaus' ritual. The hybrids can't transition because Elena's still alive."
"Tyler..." Bonnie's voice wavered.
"She also said something else."
The Bennet which raised an expectant eyebrow. "Well?"
"She didn't exactly say anything, but she showed me a picture...of a man. She said he was the key to solving this mess."
Bonnie listened carefully, eyebrows furrowing together in concentration. "Do you know his name?"
"No," Matt groaned, "but I remember his face."
Bonnie helped him sit up.
"Black hair. Scary green eyes. He was standing next to Alaric."
The witch felt a chill run down her spine.
Was it the same man from her vision?
"Knock, knock!" Lilura pipped up, scaring the two people in the room.
"Came to tell you that you have two minutes left and Klaus requests your presence in the Gymnasium."
ââââ Î ââââ
"Well, the verdict's in. The original witch says the doppelgänger should be dead," Lilura said.
Rebekah jerked her head to Klaus, visibly excited. "Does that mean we can kill her?"
"No, I'm fairly certain it means the opposite," He replied.
"What?!"
"We've been thinking, which who knew two heads was better than one?" Lilura explained, pointing between her and Klaus.
"Yes, call it a hunch, but..." The Hybrid whipped out a test tube filled to the brim with blood.
"Elena's blood. Drink it," Lilura concluded.
"No! No, no, no, Tyler, don't!" Caroline gasped.
"If he doesn't feed, he'll die anyway. Consider this an experiment," Klaus smiled.
At first, Tyler struggled, but after a little shove from Klaus, he started drinking it.
"There we go. Good boy."
The Lockwood coughed violently upon finishing the blood and fell back down, rolling on the floor much to his girlfriend's horror.
Then, to Lilura's pleasant surprise, Tyler's brown eyes turned gold.
"Well, that's a good sign," Klaus whispered to her, a smug smirk on his lips.
ââââ Î ââââ
With their new found discovery, the trio had deposited the doppelganger at the Mystic Falls Hospital to extract her blood.
Outside, Rebekah kicked the leaves around her feet. "So the doppelgänger isn't the problem. Her blood is the solution."
Klaus shrugged his shoulder's, finally relieving the tension. "Seems so."
"How did you two know?"
Lilura grinned under the moonlight, "Well, you know how much the original witch hated Klaus. Do you honestly think we would do anything other than the opposite of what she says?"
The blonde laughed, "A thousand years in the grave and she's still screwing with you."
In more ways than one.
"Well, it makes sense if you think about it from her perspective. It was her fail-safe in case I ever broke the hybrid curse. The doppelgänger had to die in order for me to become a hybrid, but if she was dead..."
"Then you couldn't use her blood to sire yourself a new species."
"Leaving me alone for all time," Klaus confessed.
"Is that what this is about? Your obsession with hybrids? You just don't want to be alone?" Rebekah inquired incredously.
The Siren found no words, so she decided to wrap her small arms around Klaus' broad shoulder.
He looked at Lilura with an unreadable expression. "What I want is to take my girl, take the bloody doppelganger, and take my hybrids the hell out of this one-pony town."
He shrugged Lilura's arms off and faced Rebekah.
"You know, why don't you, uh, why don't you get the truck? We'll get Elena," He told her.
Lilura opened her mouth to comfort Klaus, but before she could get a word in, another vampire arrived.
"Well, look who finally decided to show up to the party," Klaus crowed, masking his true emotions.
Lilura felt adrenaline race through her veins at Damon's panicked face.
"Where is she?" He demanded.
"Your girfriend? Ah, she's making a donation to a greater cause," Lilura chimed in, shining her trusty blade. "Word of warning: It's a little bloody."
Damon started towards the hospital but was blocked by an equally enthused Klaus. "I'm afraid I can't let you interfere, mate."
"You'll have to kill me."
"Oh, I would love to kill you, but I made a pledge to your brother," The Hybrid replied.
"But she didn't."
And then Lilura jumped on Damon's back, quickly chucking the knife into his shoulder blade and tripping the younger immortal.
He layed helpless on the ground and with her heeled boot, the siren placed it over his neck.
"A life for a life, right?" She grinned, teeth and cheekbones razor sharp by the angle.
Damon felt himself shudder, but he spoke nevertheless, "Had to send a message somehow."
"Consider this your response," She smiled sweetly and then broke Damon's arm.
He sucked in a breath, eyes squinting in unbelievable pain.
"Tight lipped, are we? Welp, here goes!"
Crack, went his right leg.
Pop, went his left.
"Stop!" Damon shrieked in agony. "Stop!"
Lilura paused and pretended to think about it.
"Nope," She grinned while casually dislocating his shoulder.
"Lily," Damon panted, sweat raining down his eyes. "Lily, he's safe. He's at my house."
She cackled, "I know."
Crack, went Damon's spine.
"Oh my," Lilura giggled, "You might not be able to walk for awhile."
"Love?" Klaus gently squatted down beside her. "I think he's had enough."
"But it was just getting fun!" She whined childishly, eyeing Damon's tailbone. "Could've shattered that."
"I know, sweetheart," Klaus said. "He'll get what's coming to him."
Lilura eyed Damon's scrunched face.
"Oh alright," She relented, "Let me just break his â"
"Don't you want to know about your friend Mikael?" Damon wheezed sad a last attempt at living.
Immediately, Klaus smile slipped off his face. "What do you know about Mikael?"
"Just that he knows you're here," Damon croaked.
"You're bluffing," Klaus' face paled.
"Katherine and I found him. Consider it our leverage."
Lilura and Klaus exchanged a glance.
"Sweet dreams, Damon Salvatore."
And then Lilura snapped his neck.
ð here's another chapter for y'all. How did you like it? Was the revenge satisfactory?
