"OH, AREN'T YOU ADORABLE!"
Lilura snuggled happily into the small corgi's fur. She was crouching behind a car, successfully leading the prey out into the open.
"Rudy!" The woman called. "Rudy. Come on! It's too hot to make me come looking for you."
She bent down to pick a toy dangerously close to Lilura and the corgi.
At that particular moment, Klaus swooped in silently, effectively scaring the woman.
Then slyly, he grinned, "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
"Can I help you?"
"Yeah, my car hmm, my car ran out of gas a couple of miles back. I feel like I've been walking forever," Lilura prayed to god not to laugh at his incredibly overdone American accent. "And yours is the first house I saw, so I was just hoping I could use your phone?"
Lilura could imagine the lady's skeptism, "Don't you have a cell phone?"
"Battery died. Look, I promise I'm not a serial killer I just wanna use your phone."
Now the siren was giggling silently, and so was the little guy. He was hanging out in her arms joyfully, already familiar with her touch.
"Sure," The woman sighed.
"Soo, I can come in?"
Way to sound desperate, Nik.
Lilura snorted.
"No, I'll get the phone and I'll bring it out to you."
Lilura let go of the dog and waved farewell before promptly getting up and sighing dramatically. "I thought you country folks were supposed to be more trusting!"
She sneered, "I'm from Florida."
"Well, that explains it," Klaus shrugged before grabbing her by the throat and compelling her. "Now show us a little southern hospitality. Sweet pea."
Lilura lead the way and Klaus followed close behind with the woman struggling in his grasp.
"I bet you a hundred dollars that dog ran off to a house with air conditioning," Another woman drawled while washing plates.
"Well, I know I would."
She turned around slowly and spotted her sobbing friend and two smirking immortals. "What's going on?"
"Please don't be alarmed," Klaus butted in smoothly, squeezing the nape of the woman's neck harder. "I was told Ray Sutton lives here."
The woman washing the plates paled."He's almost never here. He's on the road mostly."
"But I expect he makes it home, once a month. Where is he now?"
Lilura plopped down on a chair, twirling her hair and gazing around the room in distaste. "If we have to make you tell us it's going to be infinitely more painful for you."
Suddenly, the free lady ran past Klaus and flung open the door as a means of escape.
How foolish.
Stefan stood with his brooding eyes and serious demeanour.
"I love it when they run!" Klaus rejoiced.
She turned around and gulped, "He's in Toll. It's near the border. A bar called Southern Comfort. It's on Highway 41."
"Finally," Lilura muttered, standing up and dusting her outfit.
"Thank you loves, " Klaus grinned, stroking the sobbing woman's hair. "Now, may my friend come in?"
"Yes," She gasped in between the (frankly) irritating cries.
As if flicking a light switch, Klaus' smile slipped off. "Kill this one quickly. And make that one suffer," He pulled Lilura in by the waist, "We'll be in the car."
The two immortals strolled down the pathway.
"So dramatic," Lilura remarked.
"You love it," Klaus replied without hesitation. "Say, starlight should we get â"
Woofwoof!
Klaus was interrupted by the small corgi who had intercepted their path.
"Go away," He ordered.
The puppy stared with its giant eyes.
"Hello!" Lilura exclaimed, bending down to scoop him up. "You behaved quiet well during our little game of hide and seek."
She began to walk away, leaving a furious Niklaus Mikaelson behind.
"It's too bad your owners are dead," The enchantress mused. "Want to live with me?"
The corgi Lilura recalled being named Rudy stuck his tongue out in appreciation.
"Good boy!"
"You aren't serious," Klaus chimed in, jogging to catch up.
"Of course I'm not Sirius. My name is Lilura."
That left the hybrid confunded for a few moments. It was time like these he really wished Lilura Anthemoessa came with a dictionary.
She whipped around, slapping Klaus with her long hair. "You're brilliant!"
Although he had no idea why she said that, Klaus grinned. "Of course I am."
The enchantress shoved the dog into his arms. "This is our son, Sirius."
Klaus made eye contact with Sirius' wide and unfocused eyes and hissed.
"Can I kill him and call it a day?"
Lilura gasped, completely and utterly horrified. Without another word she grabbed the dog, yanked open the car door, and slammed it shut, Sirius in her arms and eerily gazing into Klaus' soul.
"Great," Klaus groaned. "Now we have a dog."
ââââ Î ââââ
"You'll go in there and â"
"Whose a good boy? You are. Oh yes, you are!
"And seduce Ray with â"
"Goochie goochie goochie! Who's the cutest doggo here?"
"SHUT UP!"
Lilura and Stefan jumped. Sirius barked.
"Listen," He said, eyes murderous.
Now the car was silent.
"You'll go in there, seduce Ray Sutton long enough for me to make an entrance, and then hand the reigns over to Stefan here. Alright?"
The enchantress mumbled in agreement, stroking Sirius' fur.
"That's all the the attention you'll get from her right now," Stefan concluded sourly, flicking his eyes from Klaus to the scenery.
The Hybrid huffed because he knew it was irrevocably true.
Coming to a stop, Klaus looked at his companions one last time. "You know your missions," He began.
"Yeah, yeah," Lilura patronized. "Can we go now?"
"Ditch him," Stefan monotoned, and Klaus watched in stunned silence as the unlikely duo exited the car. The only person left was Sirius, and Klaus was starting to get very unsettled by his big unfocused eyes.
Cranking the window open, Klaus also got out of the car.
"Stay or whatever," He insisted.
Sirius yapped.
Inside the bar, Lilura released her obsidian black hair from its bun and ran a hand through it. She rolled up the sleeves of her button up and undid the first few buttons.
"Does this work?" She cocked a hip to the side, turning around and staring expectantly at Stefan.
"You could wear a potato sack and all the men in here would still look at you," Stefan said. "Just go."
"Alright!" Lilura chuckled, bringing her arms up in defense. "Watch this," She wiggled her eyebrows.
"We're watching, love," Klaus grinned, placing a firm arm around Stefan's shoulder in warning.
Lilura snatched someone's wine from their table and swished it around, all the while making sure to walk like she had just been hit by a bus or completely wasted.
"Hey Red, get me a beer," said Ray Sutton, placing himself on the stool with a thump.
"What about a nice glass of red wine?"
Ray turned around, ready to decline the offer.
And then, like all men, he stopped to gawk at Lilura's body.
"I mean, I've never tried it," He said finally.
"What a shame," Lilura smirked, inching herself over to the other seat. "A man like you working the nine to five with only a few months of relaxation deserves so much more than a beer."
She tipped the remains of the drink down her throat, and internally chuckled at how Ray hung to her every word and action.
He leaned in closer, "If you come with it, then maybe I'll reconsider."
Lilura's eyebrows raised in surprise. He was a lot bolder than she expected, but before she could say something back, Klaus bounced into the picture with a funny kind of smile.
"Sorry mate, she's spoken for. Now you, however...we probably won't be talking about that."
Ray frowned.
"Or maybe we will," Klaus giggled, strategically seating himself inbetween Ray and Lilura, effectively blocking the other male's view of his wife.
"Your wife or sister, I don't remember anymore...well uh...dear me!" Klaus smiled, through everyone could tell it was fake. "She's dead. I just killed her."
Ray immediately got up. "Who are you?"
"I've been looking everywhere for you," Klaus answered. "We started in Florida, Pensacola. I met a young chap there who you used to work with before you moved to Memphis, now he directed me to two lovely young women. And they led me here, to you."
"I think I'll be going," The victim spat.
Lilura was quick to block his route of escape. Animalistic eyes flashed forest green, "But your drink just arrived."
The bartender placed two glasses of wine and a beer on the counter, utterly oblivious to the conflict arriving within the three supernaturals.
"Yes, drink. You only just got here, now your type are very hard to come by."
Ray pushed past Lilura, who sniffed at his sweaty hands man handling her.
"Careful now," Klaus stood too, wiping his lips with a napkin. "I wouldn't touch her."
As if finally realizing the impending peril, Ray Sutton ran.
"And I wouldn't do that," Stefan materialized out of the shadows, pushing a frantic Ray back to the Mikaelsons.
"Vampires."
"You're swifty swift Ray! Yes! My friend here is a vampire. He compelled everybody in the bar so don't look to them for any help. However, my girl and I, we're something else, a different kind of monster. I've got some vampire, I've got some wolf. She's a little bit of a hurricane wrapped in pretty blue eyes."
"You what?"
"Hmm, he's quite thick Nik. Are you sure he's fit for the transformation?" Lilura inquired, leaning against the bar.
"Well the stupid ones are the strongest," Klaus mused. "I'm hybrid Ray, I'm both. You see I want to create more of me. Now you being the first werewolf that I've come across in many a moon, pun intended Ray! I need you to direct me to your pack. So, where can I find them Ray?"
He shuddered at the crude excitement in Klaus' blue eyes, "You can't compel me, it won't work."
The siren barked in laughter, holding her stomach in absolute hilarity.
Stefan called to the barman, "Can you bring out the darts please?"
To Ray he smiled coldly, "Tell you what Ray, We're gonna play a little drinking game, something I like to call truth or wolfsbane."
"Ooh, my favorite!" The enchantress cooed.
As Ray Sutton paled, Klaus Mikaelson beamed.
"Oh, this is gonna be fun."
ââââ Î ââââ
"Boo!" She yelled raucously, watching the current torture session in nonchalance.
Klaus leaned in close, "I bet he'll break in 20 more minutes."
"Oh honey," The siren grinned. "Didn't you learn yet not to wager anything with me?"
"I did," The hybrid noded, taking his eyes off Stefan and Ray for a second. He smiled at their close proximity. "Can't seem to stop though."
"Ray, you can end this right now. Just tell me where your pack gathers for the full moon," Stefan called, seemingly quiet bored with the entire ordeal as well.
"I can't."
"I know, I know. You live by code and all that, but see he's not gonna let me stop until you tell me. And I do whatever he says so, that's the way it goes around here."
"Just give up, honey!" Lilura pipped up. "I can't take your poorly contained pain anymore."
A young girl walked up to Klaus and Lilura, "Hello mister Klaus. I have some more information for you."
Lilura rolled her eyes at the mere extra-ness of it all.
"You told me to tell you if I saw anything. I saw the guys spotted Damon at the farm house," She finished.
"Well, thank you Claudine. You'll just tell your friends to keep up the good work."
Stefan with his brooding persona arrived, "My brother still on our trail?"
Klaus scooted closer to Lilura and placed his head atop her's gently. "He's getting closer, I'm gonna have to deal with that."
"No, no, no! Let me handle it," Stefan insisted.
"Why should he let you leave?" The siren stopped scrolling through her phone and met the Salvatore's eyes.
"Cause, you both know I'll come back."
"Do we?"
"You saved my brother's life; I'm at your service."
"Ah, you sound so tedious and indentured. Aren't you even having the least bit of fun?" Klaus pointed to Ray with the biggest smile possible.
"I'll make sure that my brother doesn't bother us any more," Stefan said, walking away.
"Reckon he'll run?" Lilura yawned.
"No," Klaus answered after a pregnant pause. "He'll come back. He always will."
ââââ Î ââââ
"Never have I ever lied," Klaus smirked smugly, watching as the siren downed the shot with ease.
To put it simply, the two immortals were bored out of their minds. Stefan had been gone longer than they had anticipated, and frankly Klaus was happy for the alone time he had with Lilura.
Well, with Ray Sutton on the wall.
What started as an innocent excuse to drink turned into a game of quips, threats, and stinging replies.
"Never have I ever killed my siblings."
Klaus drank.
"Never have I ever faked my own death and left my significant other," He stated.
A spark of annoyance flashed in her chest. "Wanting to start a fight, I see."
"Not a fight, just the truth."
Lilura groaned and pulled at her hair.
Of course Klaus Mikaelson would bring this up in a bar in the middle of nowhere.
"Come on now love, I've never taken you for a liar."
"I'm not lying!" She insisted, throwing her hands up. "If I could tell you I would."
"What's stopping you?"
The Siren's eyes blazed at his question.
Your mother! She wanted to yell. This wretched spell she put on me.
Instead she sighed and cross her arms, all signs of amusement long gone.
"Everything," She mumbled.
The Hybrid observed Lilura's concave shoulders and felt a sliver of sympathy run through his boiling veins.
Desperately he wanted to say something to comfort her, but Klaus was never good at expressing anything remotely familiar to it. Especially now that his reason for compassion had died the moment Lilura Anthemoessa did in the small town of Mayera in 1482.
"Where did my my little Li go?" He asked, looking everywhere but to the woman in front of him.
"Probably the same place my Nik went," She smiled.
"Those two, what incredibly lovesick fools they were."
Lilura chuckled. "Remember when I ripped my skirts at the corn field during father's birthday bash?"
Klaus grinned. "Oh, I remember alright." He shifted in his seat, "You were 18, bright and lovely with a flower crown braided into your beautiful black hair. You had the stars in your eyes, the sunset in your smile, and the breeze woven into your dress. Blue, if I remember correctly."
"You do," She said. "And you were 24 and ambitious. A young man with the sky in your embrace, the thundering sea in your eyes, and the honey in your suggestive smirk."
"Father hated you," Lilura giggled.
"No offense," Klaus shrugged, "but I hated him too."
"Of course," Lilura chuckled dryly. "Nicklaus Mikaelson always wanted to be the best, and he found it in being the successor to Dasan Anthemoessa's small country."
"You may be surprised, my love," He said, "that I actually enjoyed that place. At first I believed it to be inappropriate â the people too jolly, the terrain too open."
"Or perhaps you were afraid of the possibilities."
"Perhaps," Klaus adhered. "However, I learned to love it. Was it too much to ask for to be king?"
"You and your power complexes," Lilura rolled her eyes. "Could you rest for one moment, Nik, and let the world run its course without your permission?"
Both could feel the conversation steadily fade from the past to the present.
"Let the world live? The world should let me live!" He bellowed, after a moment Klaus smiled, mockingly, "You wouldn't know. You were born with people waiting for your opinion, with people happy for you. I was pushed into the world with one intent and purpose."
He flashed her a smirk. "I was created for the kill, honey."
Lilura didn't falter, "And yet you still loved me."
Klaus' shoulders shook and his breaths came quick, but Lilura spotted the clam in his expression.
"Do you love me now?"
He picked up his hundredth glass of whiskey.
"I think I always will."
ð whew that was some pretty heavy stuff haha.
So anyway, I was wondering if you guys liked making aesthetics? I mean if anyone fancies that sort of thing, you could totally make one for the characters in this story! I'll feature one for every chapter.
So what do you say?
