28. Shocking Secrets

Sorry!! a big sorry. I had to complete my assignments and records so I couldn't update . I want to take a writing break too. I am having my exams next month so I am trying hard to complete this story as soon as possible. Please bear with me for this irregular update.Thanks for all your votes and comments. "You know your proofs were so strong that even that dumb news channel apologised for not making their research correctly. Our channel is in the top list of TRP. I am proud of you dear." Soha's excitement did not stop a bit. It's just morning and this girl called me to inform all the changes that have taken place after the revelation of Varna's truth. I am keeping my phone between my ear and my shoulder preparing to go to college with Manik.

"Ok oK, I will talk with you later. Bye!!" I hung up and ran to Manik's car where he was waiting for me. "Nandini we need to be in college as soon as possible. Navya  had called me to inform you that a surprise is waiting for you and Vibha." Manik did not wait for second after me climbing his car. "What surprise?" he sighed "If I tell you how will it be a surprise?" his sarcasm made me roll my eyes.

We reached college and this guy dragged me to cafeteria. There stood a man in his late forties. Something which I quickly noticed was his face. His face seemed similar. "Sir your most awaited lady is here." Manik pushed me lightly towards the man so I can greet him. I smiled at him "Hello, I am Nandini. Murthy." I held my hand to shake. He smiled and shook it "I am Atif. Khan, Azad's brother." so that's the matter. I was thinking I saw him somewhere when I first saw him.

"This is Vibha, your niece." Navya said accompanying Vibha. By the demeanour of her I say she is quite nervous. "You have grown so beautiful.!!" Mr. Khan exclaimed lightly patting Vibha's head who blushed at his comment. "Can I talk personally with Miss. Murthy? If you all are okay with it." his request was answered by everyone going from our place. "Vibha and Manik can stay? I know you want to talk about the case, but Vibha has her right." he looked confused but at last agreed.

"I don't go round and round so please stop this investigation. Last time Vibha was kidnapped and now I fear for her future so please save yourself and my niece." the calmness in him flew away like ashes. "I don't care." Vibha voiced are thoughts. "I don't care about what they would do if we continue our investigation. By continuing investigation I can prove that my mother is not a culprit. I can say that my mother was blamed. Last but not the least, I can see a content smile in my father's face which is lost since the death of mother." Vibha said all this through her unshed tears.

I handed her the tissues which she took it with a thank you. "Do you think we did not try? Sorry, but your stubbornness can bring threat to you and A.K." he said to which "A.K?" Vibha  and Manik asked in union. "Azad. Khan, I call him that." he said in duh tone. "You know when you guys went far away from city, I received about 20 to 50 letters of threats. I even hired a private detective, but even then that man knew everything. Whenever I tried to go to police I would receive threats regarding my family." he was breathing heavily at the end.

"Mr. Khan I know about all theses, but are you sure this the threat regarding Mrs. Hariharan?" he drank some water after this all drama. "What do you mean?" he asked in annoyed tone. "I heard there is a family secret which even Mr. Azad. Khan is not aware of." I said and his body stiffened. "There is nothing like that." he said and again took a sip of water. "I feel the threat is not for the case regarding your sister-in-law, but the threat is about the secret." now he was red with all the rage.

"Don't come to me when one you loose your life." he said and stormed out of the cafeteria. "Appa had warned me about him. He is really possessive about his family, but also a short tempered. I ask sorry behalf of him." Vibha said in a meek voice. "Vibha you should not be sorry because of him. I wanted him to loose the temper. Well we got to know somethings

1. He knows his family secret.

2. I think he also knows who is behind all this.

3. He is good at acting."

His eyes were saying some other story when he talked to us. Fab 4 joined us after all this drama. We explained all this. "Soha I want every detail of Mr. Khan's family. Especially Mr. Atif. Khan." I requested Soha after ringing her phone.

"Nandini did you see the post-mortem report of Varna. I mean the draft?" Manik asked with tensed face. I shook my head in no. He handed me the reports and showed me the line that had me want to kill the person who did such cruel things with Varna. I repeatedly read it not to misunderstand the things.

"What does this say Nandini?" Aliya asked after seeing me in this shocked expression. Not only did Aliya, but all the members around the table were waiting eagerly. "I can't believe this." I was almost in tears. "How can anyone do that to her?" I asked myself. "What happened?" Kabir asked seeing me so angry, sad and anxious at the same time. "When Varna. Hariharan was killed, there was a life growing in her. She was a month pregnant when she was killed." I heard multiple gasps except Manik and me.

I am not gonna leave the one who did this to me and Varna. I promise.
