21. Part Investigation

"So Druv, Aliya what did you get from the media?" I asked as it was their assigned work to do. "Nandini, we tried our level best and went to almost 10 channels and 5 newspapers which is currently running form the murder took place." she placed the some newspaper cuttings and also handed me the name of some persons.

"They all have a single answer. The police did not give statement and Mr. Khan also vanished. They got the information from a mysterious phone call. First some cahnnels and newspapers didn't believe, but when they got the proof against Mrs. Hariharan, they had to telecast it." Druv said.

"What was the proof they got?" Manik asked seeing all the paper cuttings. "There were some prostitute women who gave statement of Varna being their head. Then they received a photograph of Mrs. Hariharan sleeping with another guy. The third one was really the proof which makes doubtful about whole controversy of Mrs. Hariharan being head of prostitution ring." Druv said and started searching something in his bag.

"The woman who was known as best friend of Varna gave the statement to the channels that Varna had requested her to join the prostitution ring. She even shed her crocodile tears that Varna almost threatened her to do such disgusting jobs. " Aliya said as she handed me the recorder and some small spy cameras. "Who was the woman?" Kabir asked as he gazed at all the articles which was on the table.

"Vidya" Druv and Aliya both said in union. I couldn't believe this. Her jealousy made her a witch to say such things about the person who she called her best friend. I know Varna was Vidya's enemy, but common, who does that to even enemy? I can never imagine such things. "how can she stoop so low?" Vibha asked in trance.

"Actually we moved a step ahead and did some research about Vidya. After Varna got the offer, she was acting totally crazy, so she was banished from her modelling career. There was even a rumour that she did drugs and became a complete drunkard. But when I saw the recording of her giving the statement about Varna, I was hell shocked because she looked far from doing drugs and not to mention that her location record was not at all present as if some one have erased that part of her life." Something is fishy. The person who is behind the murder is damn clever.

"Good job Druv and Aliya, but I want to ask you how did you get to know of the rumors and when you said about some missing part of Vidya's life." I couldn't contain my curiosity. I desperately wanted to know the source of their information. "Oh! , my mom was a make up artist that time. She knew each and everything about glamour. Once she had done even Vidya's make up, so she knows many things. My mom told me that Vidya was at the influence of drugs during one of the shoots of an advertisement. As director did not want to get involved with all those cases, he hired a different model and asked everyone to let it go."

I think I can get many information about it by the help of Aliya's mom. "Wow make up kit, I never thought you would be so clever." Kabir said licking his icecandy and soon was gifted with a flying pillow , luckily he doged it. "Now Kabir it's your turn" I said and turned towards him.

He gestured Navya and she placed some papers on the table. "You told us to go to the doctor who did the post-mortem of the Varna. Hariharan. His name was Ramesh. Nayak. He was a well known doctor then. I gathered the information that he is in Mauritius with his family. There was a six months gap between his transfer and Mrs. Hariharan's death. I have contacted him he says that he gave the post-mortem that, she was poisoned first and then she was beaten black and blue. The ribs were broken and her leg was dislocated by the impact of attack." he said and placed the recorder on the table.

"He even said that her death was caused because of continuous thrust of some sharp thing which is definitely not a knife. First the attacker attacked her stomach, then her thigh and the last one was on her chest which finally resulted in stopping her heart beat." Navya said placing all the things she collected. "Does the real post-mortem report exist?" Vibha asked with hope dancing in her voice.

"I highly doubt that Vibha, but there is 20% possibility of its existence." Navya said thinking. "What do you mean?" I asked. I wanted to know more about it. "Mr. Nayak said that he had his private room for the research, he was doing on new born baby's behaviour. The government hospital took all his files and kept it in a library safely. He thinks that he had a draft copy of the post-mortem with him and there is high possibility of the file being in library." Kabir said.

"I still didn't understand how did the report get changed?" I asked to myself enough to hear for everyone. "I think Mr. Nayak's signature was forged. That police officer, what was his name?" Kabir asked which was answered by Manik "Karan. Adhikari, he is dead, but yes he could have changed it." Manik said completing Kabir's statement. Yes we found that Mr. Adhikari died in a fire accident exactly after 5 years. We need the post-mortem report and I will find it by hook or by cook.

The case is taking different turn and now I feel I am very near to my destination.
