Chapter - 37

As the clock ticked towards 4 a.m., the weary group arrived at the Raichand mansion. The large house loomed in the early morning darkness, its windows faintly illuminated by the lights inside. Aarav stood at the entrance along with the maide, his eyes scanning the arrival with a mixture of relief and concern.

Rudraksh, holding a sleeping Roohi in his arms, stepped out of the car, his expression etched with exhaustion and relief. The sight of Aarav waiting at the entrance brought a small, tired smile to his face.

Aarav moved forward quickly. “Is she okay?” he asked, his voice filled with concern as he glanced at Roohi.

Rudraksh nodded, his eyes heavy with fatigue. “She’s safe now.

Aarav, overwhelmed by the intense emotions of the night, turned to his father, Abhay, and his brother, Arjun. With a rare display of vulnerability, he pulled them into a tight embrace. “I’m glad you guys are fine!” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “I was… scared.”

Abhay’s eyes softened as he hugged his son tightly. Despite Aarav’s usual reserve, Abhay could feel the weight of his fears and relief. “We’re all safe now, Aarav,” he said gently. “You did great protecting roohi.” I am so proud of you.

Arjun, always the more expressive of the two brothers, watched with a smile. Seeing the tender moment, he decided to lighten the mood. With a mischievous grin, he ruffled Aarav’s hair, making it stick out in all directions.

Aarav, caught off guard, protested with a laugh. “Come on, Arjun! Not the hair!”

Arjun chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “You always look like you’ve been through a tornado, Aarav. It’s part of your charm.”

Despite his protests, Aarav couldn’t help but smile. The warm, familiar banter was a comforting reminder of the bond between them.

Abhay, watching the interaction with a mix of pride and relief, turned to Rudraksh with a practical suggestion. “Rudraksh, it would be best if you and Roohi stayed here for now. You both need rest, and we can ensure that you’re safe and secure until things settle down.”

Rudraksh glanced down at his sleeping daughter, his heart heavy with the weight of the night’s events. “I appreciate the offer, Abhay. It’s been a long night, and I think Roohi needs to rest in a safe place.”

Arjun, standing beside Abhay, nodded in agreement. “It’s the least we can do after everything that’s happened. We’ll make sure you’re both comfortable.”

Aarav, who had been silently observing, finally spoke up. “I’ll ask the maids to get  everything arranged. Abhay nodded and led them into the house, Mia stood awkwardly to the side.

Arjun noticed her hesitation and took her hand gently. “Aarav, this is Mia,” he said, introducing her. “She’s the one who helped us find Roohi.”

Aarav offered Mia a warm, appreciative smile. “It’s nice to finally meet you, Mia. Thank you for everything you’ve done.”

Mia, still a bit unsure, smiled back, her eyes reflecting a mix of exhaustion and gratitude. “Thank you. I’m just glad I could help.”

Her eyes briefly met Arjun’s before she looked away, a hint of blush coloring her cheeks and making her way inside the mansion.

As Mia walked inside the mansion, Aarav’s gaze followed her with curiosity. Turning to his older brother Arjun, he asked, “What’s going on with you and Mia? You seemed pretty interested in her.”

Arjun chuckled, a playful glint in his eye. “Oh, it’s nothing much. Just a bit of mutual respect and gratitude. She did help us a lot.”

Aarav raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued but willing to let it go for now. “Alright, if you say so.”

Arjun smiled and clapped Aarav on the shoulder. “Come on, let’s get inside. We’ll sort everything out. Make sure the maids prepare the best room for our guests.”

As they entered the mansion, the atmosphere was a mix of relief and subdued celebration. The house, though still quiet from the early hour, was buzzing with a newfound hope as the families began to settle in and recover from the long ordeal.
