Alpha, Luna, it worked.

Caden sat up and rubbed his face, I'll be there in ten minutes.

I sighed before sitting up.

"Sorry Bee, I should've made it clear they don't disrupt you."

"No Cade. I'm fine." I said shifting to get off the side of my stomach.

"I don't know when I'll be back." He glanced at his watch, "It's quarter to two."

I blinked a few times and nodded, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, "I'll make breakfast when you get back."

"Bee-"

"I'm not asking. I'm making breakfast when you get back." I said as my hand trailed down his chest.

He brought me closer and nuzzled my neck, "I don't have enough time to argue."

"I know." I smirked as Caden left kisses along my collarbone, "Come on Caden you should change, you have to leave."

He groaned and got off the bed before leaning back down and putting his lips on mine hungrily. His tongue had me craving him just seconds later. I was full of tingles and want as he pulled away, "I hate leaving you in our bed wanting me."

I scowled, "Go. We'll have breakfast later."

"Yes ma'am."

I fell back on the bed as he left after throwing on jeans and a shirt, with another kiss on my lips.

"How did it go?" It was now after nine in the morning and we had sat down to eat omelettes and hashbrowns with bacon. Caden had just got back and only got out of his shower minutes before.

"They were right, it worked. Their DNA no longer had any modified genes, nothing relating them to Dan and I."

"Can they find out where these two came from then?"

"I never thought about it. I'll talk to doc."

"That's exciting news Caden." Could we get fated mates back? Could the doctor's have found out how to get fated mates back? Would anyone want fated mates? What if nobody does? I thought in a panic.

"Bee don't. Don't start thinking like that. We all want fated mates back."

"Not everyone. My father wasn't alone in his thinking."

"I know. You're right. But I also know that we don't need everyone to agree, just enough to get the ball rolling, and then eventually we will get them back one generation at a time."

I smiled to him with a tear in my eye.

"Plus, every father I know with a daughter would do it tomorrow to know that their daughter is with someone who would die for them. Just like me."

"I know. You're all so protective."

"Only becauae we all have women we would die without."

I smiled, "So what happens now?"

"We find out where Ray and Cass came from, that was a good idea, and you take it easy without the stress hopefully-"

"Caden. I'm not stressed."

"Ye-"

"I don't get stressed over those things Caden. The moment I think everything is going to be too much you either talk to me, find a solution, hold me or just say you love me and it's all fine. I hope I do that for you too. Are you stressed?"

"I'm constantly worried. But not stressed."

Why is he worried? What does he worry about? Now I was worried.

"You Bee. I worry about you. And the pups."

"I worry too."

"I won't let anything happen to you."

"That makes me worry too. I hope you never do anything irrational because of me-"

"Blake. We've had this discussion. Me dying for you isn't irratonal."

"But-"

"Blake this is one thing you will never change my mind about." The look in his eye made me know he was serious. I couldn't change this.

I looked down and sighed. A tear ran down my cheek and Caden instantly had me in his arms. I calmed myself slightly, "Sorry. Hormones. I don't normally cry so often."

"Don't apologize."

"I hate thinking about you dying."

"You have no idea beautiful. The thought kills me babe."

"I love you so much Caden."

"I love that you love me." He paused before his teeth sunk into my mark. I was still spirally down moments later as I breathed heavily into his chest, "I love you so fucking much Bee. There isn't a word that sums it up. You're mine. All mine."

I nodded still not having complete control over myself.

When I started laughing Caden gave me a confused face before I put his hands on my belly, "I love them too."

"Every time you mark me again they go crazy."

"So do you," he said lowly in my ear.

"No sexy, crazy is an understatement."

His hands slid to my waist and he inhaled deeply in the crook of my neck, "When is your next appointment?"

"I don't know."

"What!? Bee what if you miss it? What if-"

"Caden. Doc wouldn't let me miss it. He would be terrified of the consequences."

"He should be." He growled.

"Caden."

He sighed and I chuckled, "As long as he knows, I won't say anything."

"Thank you. We don't need a paranoid doctor."

"So can we do this to everyone?"

"That's the idea. We will need to test it on other people to be sure though. Two is not an adequate sampling."

"I'll see if any pack members will be up for this." Caden said.

"We will have to buy more supplies brfore this can happen but we will be ready by tomorrow."

"I will call a meeting." Caden replied.

"We should give them a night to think about it. This is an experiment and they should have time to debate trying it."

"Yes Luna." They both replied.

"So the meeting will be tonight and by tomorrow we will know who is participating." Caden said and pulled me close with his arm around my waist.

"Okay, we will leave to buy supplies once we are excused, Alpha, Luna."

"When is Bee's next appointment."

"Not for a month Alpha. I will remind her closer to the date, you have my word."

"Thank doc. You two get ready, if you need anything we are at your disposal."

They both nodded respectfully with a, "Thanks," before leaving.

Caden turned me as his arms wrapped around me, "Does he know you want the genders a secret?"

"Yeah. I mentioned it after you said you were fine with that."

"Any more thoughts towards names?"

"No. Do you have any?"

He shook his head. It was silent for a few minutes as Caden held me before he pulled back with a chuckle, "I can't imagine that." He looked down.

"What?"

"They're kicking the outside of my stomach and I think it feels weird, I can't imagine what it's like the other way."

I laughed so hard tears rolled down my face. I put a hand to my stomach at the pain of laughing so uncontrollably.

After calming down I wiped the tears and looked up to Caden.

"Sorry Cade, that's just too funny."

"Apparently." He scowled jokingly.

"It was gradual so I didn't think about that. It's kind of weird now that you mention it."

His hands fell to my stomach and I looked down at them. I winced at one kick and felt a baby shift slightly. "Did I hurt you?" He asked panicked as he pulled his hand back.

"No. The pups react to your touch. They just kick."

"I thought you said it doesn't hurt," he said skeptically.

"Not usually. Just sometimes. The big ones."

He stayed quiet and took my hand, "Want to go look at the new pack house?"

I nodded. We had been quite a few times and seeing it come together was great.

Half hour later we walked up and Caden put his arm around my shoulders as I stared up to the top floor of the huge pack house.

Four floors. Over a hundred rooms. A wing of apartments. A foyer. A ball room that fits multiple packs and our own. Two full kitchens. Our office. The Alpha room; having two rooms off it, a huge closet and a master bath.

It was literally huge. Many people are packing in preparation of moving in.

"We should have a party the night everyone unpacks here."

I didn't realize I said it oout loud until he replied, "We should."

"With bonfires and games and football."

"Anything and everything you want." Caden said with a smile.

"I love that they all talk to each other."

"Me too. They all love you Bee. Without you it would've taken years."

"No, they're just that great of packs."

"Nope." He kissed me to stop me from arguing, "Want to walk through it?"

I nodded and he held my hand, putting his lips to my knuckles before leading us through the fram of the door.

The floors were laid down, the walls were up, and the roof was just about done. Then they would start insulating and finishing it up so we could start the design. I had asked around most of the pack and so far everyone was good with a few of then so now I had to choose which one.

"Could we do more than one design?"

"What do you mean? I thought the floor plans of the rooms were different." He asked confused.

"No- well yeah, they are. I meant the colours and patterns. What if we did it in sections, the apartments their own style and the rooms their own, the ball room it's own, which will make it seem grand, and the kitchens each another? Then everyone gets the designs they want and it doesn't look like a hotel."

He suddenly kissed me before resting his forehead on mine, "This packhouse will feel more like a home than any other ever built. I love you."

I looked down. I looked back up and pecked his lips, "I love you too."

"We can definitely do that. Then when they are replaced it won't be the whole house at once either. That was chaos last time."

"Thank you."

"Don't thank me. It's our decision, not mine. You don't even have to ask, just walk right up to the people painting and lay down the law my creative little Luna." He chuckled.

"I don't want it to feel cold Caden. Whay happens if it does?"

"It won't. You're adamant in it not, and I have every belief that you'll make it seem like a small cottage."

"It's massive Caden-"

"That's how good you are." He smiled.

I rolled my eyes and we started up the stairs. Caden glanced at me worried and held my hand tighter.

I'm fine Caden. I climb three flights of stairs every time I go to our room.

But these aren't finished.

Yes they are. The workers climb them all day long. I looked over to him, How fat do you think I am?!

He looked panicked before I laughed. "I always think you're serious Bee."

"I know. It's funny watching you freak out. Seriously though Cade, the stairs are fine."

"I'm glad this house has the alpha room on the second floor."

"It has elevators."

"What if one is out of order?"

"I get my knight in shining armour to carry me up the stairs," I said playfully.

"I'm always free to carry you Bee," he whispered.

I pretended to be confused, "You? I meant Daniel, he's always there for me." I walked up a bit further and as soon as I was at the top he pinned me against the wall.

"Bee-"

"I'm just kidding Caden." I kissed him before hugging him tight to calm his wolf. "I shouldn't do that to you, I'm only ever kidding."

"My wolf doesn't see past your act. He buys it every time. I almost jumped you right then."

"Sorry Cade-"

"No, don't apologize." He kissed me again, "On with the walk."

I nodded and we finished walking around.

Caden called the meeting for tonight after the pack dinner, we're hoping everyone will show for dinner and then just stay longer to hear us out.

"Will you explain the biological aspect of it doc and Bee and I will ask for volunteers."

"Yes sir."

"Thank you. I don't want to mess it up."

"No problem Alpha. Where are we going to test it?"

"I assumed in your clinic room, but if it's a problem-"

"No, not at all, I will try to bring beds to one of the pack houses."

"The former Blackthorn clinic had more beds, I'll get people to move beds from Bluelake over so less are moved. They can probably be put right into the new pack house after anyways. Those helping will be in your office later today."

"Thank you Alpha."

Caden nodded and we left. "Our pups will only ever see the joined pack."

"I'm glad. They will grow up with many more friends and loved ones."

"That's true."

"Maybe their mate would have been from the other pack, then it may have taken longer to meet."

"Well our daughter could wait to find her mate until she was thirty, that would be okay."

"Caden you can't lock her in a box and only allow girls to talk to her."

"Doesn't stop me from wishing it was acceptable."

I laughed, "I'm nowhere near thirty and we already went through so much."

"We've also done a lot I don't want our daughters to do until they are older."

I laughed, "I feel sorry for her already. If one of these two rugrats are girls."

He nodded and a light frown happened.

"Sorry, if one of the six is a girl."

"We don't have to have six babe."

"I know." But I also know he wants like a dozen. So I could settle for six.

Almost everyone was here and those remaining were just slowly entering.

Caden and I made our way to the front and stood on the raised platform. It got fairly quiet and Caden waved Paul forward.

Paul shook his head and smiled. Caden npdded before clearing his throat, "Thank you all for coming."

Many people nodded, others just smiled.

"My mate, your Luna, and I wanted to update you all on the two imposters. Their names are Ray and Cass. We are not sure where they are from but with a bit more digging that should be easily found. The rogues seem to have backed off a bit too, so we will not be in any preparation for war at the moment." A few women kissed their mates and others nodded. "Also, a fairly big achievement by both of our doctors has to be acknowledged. They are pretty certain they found a way to bring back fated mates." Caden paused as an enormous round of applause went up and I waved the doctor's forward. I was ecstatic that our pack wanted fated mates back.

Caden continued and everyone fell silent, "This may also heal some quicker, however they have only had two people to test it on; Ray and Cass. They were successful in both attempts but as one of our highly skilled doctors said, that is not an accurate sampling."

Caden took my hand and murmurs went around the room. They already knew what we were going to say. I felt Caden get a bit tense so I smiled and spoke up, "In no way will anybody be forced into this. Caden and I both promised you first thing that you will never be forced into anything unless it is for the safety of the pack. We could argue that this is for the safety of the pack since it could help medically, and it replaced genes with originals, if I'm not mistaken," at the doctor's nod I continued, "But we aren't going to argue." Some claps went up, "This is a risky thing. Those who participate may find a fated mate and already be mated, if this works. Again, only two have been tried." Caden growled lowly and everyone went silent, "Caden and I are asking for volunteers." Hands went up and I was blown away by the participation. "If you do not want to consider this than don't. We appreciate everyone who would be willing, and respect those who are not."

Caden continued, "The doctor's are willing to stay back and explain exactly what will be happening and how the experiment works. Those who are willing to volunteer please stay behind, the rest of you are excused. Thank you all for coming."

The room got louder as people talked with their mates. I turned to Caden and hugged him, Whatever happens I'm glad we got this far Caden. I've dreamed of this day my whole life. To get them back would be amazing.

Yes it will be.

If it happens.

I looked up at him, We need volunteers-

He turned me slightly, "We have them." He whispered in my ear.

I looked up and smiled widely in awe, "That's so many Caden." I whispered back.

I told you,the pack loves you, they would do anything for you.

For us. I pecked his lips and turned to the doctor's.

Caden spoke up, "Thank you all for staying, Blake and I did not expect so many."

There were easily two hundred people still here.

Caden motioned to the doc's who took over. I heard yelling outside of the room, a very heated argument and unwrapped myself from Caden.

Where are you going?

To see what's happening.

He sighed before slowly nodding, Be careful.

I nodded and walked out the door.

I recognized them immediately. I had just talked to the family about moving into the apartments in the new pack house.

I walked up and they stopped yelling and bowed their heads respectively.

"Luna." The mother said.

"Where is your mate?" I asked her politely.

"In there." She said sadly.

"Fated?"

She shook her head.

I could see the worry on her face, "You love him. And I have no doubt he loves you more, even more than his entire world." I saw the happiness and continued, "If he gets a fated mate after this he will still stay by you. He wouldn't leave you for anyone."

"But it's fate."

"He chose his fate when he completed the mating. He isn't doing this to leave you. He's doing this to help Alpha and I. You understand that don't you?"

She nodded, "I can't stand the thought of him wanting someone else." She admitted quietly.

Her daughter hugged her, "He won't leave will he?"

"No sweetie," I said crouching down, "You're father would never." I glanced at the mother, "If you found your fated mate would you change anything?"

She instantly shook her head, "I love him so much it kills me to think about it."

"Then why would he?" I looked to the little girl, "He would die to save you. All of you. Each of you. Don't ever doubt him. Trust your dad, okay?"

She hugged me and nodded, "Thank you Luna."

I hugged her back, "Promise me something?"

She nodded, "I promise."

"Promise me to keep reminding your mom. She needs to hear it until she believes it. Your dad loves all of you. Nothing will change that."

The mother smiled and I knew she was talking with her mate. Suddenly she looked down to her youngest, still in his wheelchair.

"What was the yelling about?"

"My son wants to go in there. He thinks in his condition that-"

I cut her off, bent down and looked at her youngest, her son, "Why do you want to?"

"I'm the sickest wolf in the pack. I would be the best person to test this on. It will work on anyone if it works on me."

His mother started crying and went to say something but I gave her a look to stop.

"Why doesn't your mom want you to?"

"She thinks I'm too sick. She thinks I'm weak." He looked down.

I raised his chin, "She knows you're strong. She's nust worried about it not working. If it doesn't work then she loses her mate and her son. Do you get that?"

He nodded, "But if it works-"

"It's a fifty-fifty thing right now. You either come out better, or you die."

He went a bit pale but then nodded slowly. "I still want to you won't scare me-"

"I'm not scaring you, I'm telling you the truth. If this doesn't work your mother loses her strong little boy and her mate dies. Your sister loses her father and brother. How do you think they feel?"

He looked down. When he looked back up he had red eyes, "I'm sorry mom."

She shook her head.

"But I still have to do this. I am the best one to test. If it works I could be out of this chair sooner."

"Or you could be de-"

Again I cut her off, "You seem adamant in doing this."

"I want to help."

"I can't tell you how much that means to me. The whole pack appreciates it. But you have to know the risks."

"Which is why I should be on the other side of the door."

"That's not my decision." I looked to his mom who shook his head.

"There's no way they're both risking their lives."

"I already told you you can't stop me!" He went to move away but I stopped him.

The mother glared at him, "Move again and I'll leave you in bed."

"Mom why won't you let me do this. It's for all of us. It's for Alpha and Luna and the pack!"

"No!-"

"Can I suggest something?"

The mother nodded instantly, Luna perks.

"What if he listens, and if he still wants to he can, but only if his father finishes this successfully. If his father lives and it works, then he can, otherwise he doesn't."

"So I get to go in there!?" He said excitedly.

"No-"

"You know this means a lot to him right? I explained your side, but have you thought of his? He wants to show he is strong. He wants to prove to you how strong he is. He wants to do this for everyone who has helped him. I saw him the other day thanking the doctor for everything."

"He saved my life," he said from behind me.

"You trust him indefinitely which is why you would do this right?" I asked him.

He nodded and the mother knelt down and hugged him, "You are strong. You don't have to do this-"

"I want to. Please mom, let me."

She hugged him tight and nodded. She pulled back and pointed her finger at him, "But only if dad makes it out first."

She nodded and he smiled before thanking her and turning. She looked worried about him going in the room so I walked beside him, "I'll bring him to his father."

She nodded, "Thank you Luna."

I nodded, "Don't doubt your mate. And trust the doctor's. They saved my life too, I would volunteer except I'm carrying two pups myself."

I walked the boy in and he rolled up beside his father. His father smiled down at him with a wink and the boy winked back. The doc was nust starting to go over it again and I maneuvered through the crowd to reach Caden.

He pulled me in close and half hour later everyone filed out, signing their name if they were considering volunteering. They would show up tomorrow if they were certain after tonight.

"What happened out there?"

I explained it to him and he hugged me, "I would never let you volunteer, pregnant or not."

I nodded, "I know." With his face mine sunk, "What?"

"I wish I could volunteer. Show them that it works." I know what he meant. It wouldn't affect him because he already has a fated mate and he has no disease or illnesses.

"They trust your word. We all do."

He smiled and carried me upstairs. His lips trailed down my neck as my shirt came off. He kissed across my belly and I laughed as it tickled.

He looked up with dark eyes, "So beautiful."

I rolled my eyes and he slowly moved back up my body.

"You're still flawless seven months pregnant."

"Caden-"

His teeth sunk into my mark and my argument flew out my brain.

I should be studying for exams but I put this chapter off for way too long!! Thanks for sticking with it!!
