We laid down in bed and Caden brought me against him, "You're beautiful Bee."

I decided not to argue with him but a quiet sigh escaped.

"Why don't you believe me?"

"I do."

"No you don't. You either disagree out loud or in your head but you never just say thank you for stating the truth." He moved so he was looking down at me as he leaned on one elbow, "Why don't you believe me?"

"I believe you think so."

"So stubborn." He kissed my jaw and tucked a hair behind my ear, "Shouldn't my opinion-"

"It means everything to me Caden. It does."

"Then...?"

I shrugged before turning slightly and kissing him, "I love you."

"I love you too beautiful."

I playfully scowled and he chuckled before kissing me again, "Goodnight sexy."

His turn to scowl, which made me laugh, "Goodnight my beautiful mate."

I smiled at that. I love how he still thinks he's lucky to be my mate.

Luckiest.

I rolled my eyes and he brought me into his chest before pulling away to place his lips to my swollen belly, "Goodnight family." He winked at me and I laughed before making him lay down so I could curl up with him.

"Stop kissing me and let me sleep."

He chuckled.

I wormed my way out of Caden's grasp. It was still black outside, probably about two in the morning.

I went into the bathroom and put my arm out to turn the light on when one hand grabbed my wrist and another covered my mouth.

Caden!

I fought against them but it was useless.

Bee! What the-

Caden came into view and I relaxed slightly.

Just stay calm Bee. Does he have a knife?

I don't know Caden I'm sorry.

Don't apologise.

Caden and this rogue were in an intense staring battle. Caden growled and the rogue brought me further back against him.

When I say go you duck. Got it Bee. Duck. Stay on the floor.

Okay Caden.

I was shaking but tried to focus on Caden. I knew he wouldn't let anything happen to me.

I felt the rogue move the hand over my mouth around my throat and he let go of my wrist, I think his hand went into his pocket.

That's not a good sign.

It's okay Bee.

Caden what does he have?

Just duck okay?

Okay.

The rogue was growing impatient. I could feel his hand make it's way back up from his pocket.

Go!

I pulled his arm off and bent over as Caden's wolf went over me, tackling the rogue backwards. The rogue was dead before he had a chance to shift.

I didn't realize I had been crying until I pulled my knees up and the tears hit my arms. Caden shifted back and I saw him put something in a box before locking the box and hiding it.

"What was it?"

"A needle."

I shivered, "I hate them Caden. I hate everything they stand for. I hate everything about them." I rambled.

He brought me onto his lap and held me, "I know babe. I do too."

I curled into him and slowly relaxed. "Why did he come alone?"

"I don't know." I could feel his guilt.

"It's not your fault Caden."

"He got to you." Caden was a mix of guilt and fury.

"Caden," I held his cheeks and slowly his eyes changed back, "This wasn't your fault. You saved me. You saved us. All of us. That's all I ask for. You can't predict what they're going to do."

"I don't know how he got in. What if it happens again?"

"You won't let it. I know you. I trust you. Please believe me when I say there was nothing else you could've done. You saved our lives. Thank you."

He hugged me to him and nuzzled my neck, "I woke up terrified. Bee you weren't in bed. You weren't with me."

"I'm sorry Caden I had to go to the washroom."

"I didn't notice you leave."

"I didn't want to wake you."

"Please wake me next time."

"Caden you need sleep-"

"I want sleep, I need to know you're safe." He looked into my eyes and I couldn't help myself from nodding. I wouldn't win this one.

"Okay. I'm sorry."

"Don't apologise beautiful. You didn't know there was a rogue waiting, any other time it would've been fine."

"Still-"

"No. Don't argue. Just let me hold you."

I smiled and wrapped my arms around him, I love you sexy.

I love you more beautiful.

Caden woke Zeke up and had him putting together a team to sweep all of our land.

I felt Caden moving and brought him closer to me. He chuckled, "Babe you need sleep, let me go."

"No." I mumbled into his chest.

"I want to run the substance in the needle with the doc."

"Later."

He chuckled again and kissed my temple, "Babe you can sleep. I'll come right back."

I pulled back slightly and looked up at him, "I'll come with you-"

"No you need sleep."

"I want to come."

"Okay Bee."

I sat up and pulled him towards the bathroom, "But I want to shower first."

"You're perfect."

I laughed and closed the door behind us.

An hour later the doctor's computer dinged and a box came up saying the test was done.

We all read over the screen but it was gibberish to me. The doctor was looking intently at it and kept scrolling and pulling up different screens.

"Doc, what is it?"

"I don't know yet."

"No rough idea?"

Caden how about we give him time?

Yeah you're right. You should eat anyways.

"I'm sorry Alpha. I would've read up on this area of the genes if I had known but-"

"No no. I'm sorry. Bee and I are going to have breakfast and take care of some things before checking back in. If you find anything sooner just let one of us know okay?"

He nodded and looked a bit relieved at not having his Alpha and Luna over his shoulder while he worked.

"Come on beautiful."

I took his hand and we went to the kitchen.

I know it's short but I didn't want to wait to include the test results which will take me forever to write since my schedule is busy and school is time consuming!!

Plus I have to memorize a Shakespeare monologue for English tomorrow (don't ask me why since I didn't think it was Drama) and a math test!! Ew!!

Anyways...
