Blake's POV
We stepped out of the bathroom an hour and a half later. Caden went to put his shirt on and I ran my hands up his back. His muscles moved under my touch as the tingles spread through us at the contact.
"Bee..." he said quietly, "You need to eat."
"I just love the effect I have on you."
He turned with a sly smile, "Says the one who's eyes are a stunning emerald."
I blushed a bit knowing he knew I wanted him.
"Come on Bee, let me make you dinner," he said in my ear as he nuzzled my neck.
I nodded, before I pulled back to make him look at me, "No. Why can't we make dinner?" I asked with a slight scowl.
"Bee..." he drew out, "Let me do it for you."
"I'm not useless."
"Trust me, I know." He said with a smirk and I slapped his chest before turning to leave the room. I gasped as he picked me up and turned me to wrap my legs around him, "I'm sorry Bee. Forgive me?"
I looked over his face, "Cade? Is this still about that first week?" At his silence it clicked, "Caden you show me hospitality."
"I didn't-"
"Past tense. That proves my point." He remained silent as he walked us down the stairs. "I thought we were past all this Caden."
He placed me on the counter and I made him stay where he was with my legs still around him, "We are."
"We were. You're bringing it all up again because of how you treated Ray."
He swallowed, "You catch on to things too quickly."
I rolled my eyes, "I wouldn't if you didn't bring up the same things over and over again." I paused as i wrapped my arms around his neck, "I love you Caden. How we started this doesn't matter. It got us here and that's all that matters." I gave him a look and he nodded.
"Okay Bee. I just hate that I used that tone wih you once."
"Don't." He looked up and I placed my lips to his, "Don't. Forget the past. Otherwise I would still have daddy issues." He laughed and we let it go.
We made dinner, together- at my persistence, and then sat down to eat it.
"I don't deserve you," he said as he watched me eat after he finished his food.
"Yes you do. You deserve more. I don't deserve you."
He clenched his jaw before shaking his head, "I hit him."
"I figured."
"How far do you think I would go?" He asked quietly.
"Why?" He just kept looking at the table, I took a deep breath and told him my honest opinion, "You would never even hit a stranger. But to someone who threatens our pack, you would kill them and probably not regret it."
"Does that make me a monster?"
"No." I said with a small laugh.
You seemed confused, "You know I'm serious?"
"Yes. So am I."
"You wouldn't think of me differently if I killed Ray with my bare hands? Our pups wouldn't think differently of me? You wouldn't be afraid of me?"
I chuckled, "You would never lay a hand on me, that's not even a question. Our pups won't see you differently, you're protecting the land they will grow up on. And no Caden. I will not view you any differently. If you randomly killed some guy on the street, yes. But if you're killing the guy who impersonated your father and is plottig something against us, no. Maybe that makes me a monster."
"You're not a monster Bee."
"And nor are you." I knew this was something I would have to tell him a million times until he took my word for it, "Shouldn't my opinion matter more to you than anyone elses?"
"You can't use my words against me." He said with a small smile.
"I'm using them for you." I corrected with a bit of sass. I made my voice serious as I made him look me in the eye, "I honestly know I wouldn't think differently of you if you killed the man threatening our pack. And nor will any of our pups."
Slowly a smile grew on his lips, I love you Bee. You're perfect.
Far fro-
Shouldn't your mates opinion matter the most? He asked cockily.
I rolled my eyes and put he plates on the counter before taking his hand. He looked confused before I stopped in a clearing with a couple chairs.
We sat together on one, me laying along his side as we looked at the sky. It would be dark soon.
It was silent for about twenty minutes when Caden spoke quietly, "He was unconcious when I left."
I remained silent.
"I almost killed him Bee." He clenched his jaw as his body tensed and then he relaxed a bit, but not completely, "I would've if Daniel hadn't stopped me."
"He deserved it."
"You sound so certain." He mumbled.
I turned and straddled him, looking right at him, "Whatever this Ray guy got from you he deserves ten times worse because he tried to mess with our pack. And you probably went easy on the girl because that's who you are, so she probably deserves twenty times worse than what you gave her. But whatever you did- and you don't have to tell me if you don't want to- but whatever you did I know they deserved worse."
"He called you a... name."
"I'm sure I've been called worse." I said with a half shrug.
"Nobody gets to call you a bitch. Nobody. I don't give a shit who they are. I don't care if it's a fucking council member. You're perfect. And you're mine."
I waited until he was a bit calmer. His sudden outburst shocked me.
"I'm sorry Bee. I didn't mean to growl at you-"
"About me. Not at me."
He breathed out a huge sigh and held me close, "So fucking perfect."
I pulled back and looked at him, "Did we decide on a punishment because you swore at least three times."
The lust in his eyes made them black instantly, "You can punish me however you want baby."
I smirked, "Are you sure?"
He nodded.
"You want this to be good- or is it bad? I don't know- good enough that you'll stop swearing right?" I whispered in his ear and he grew hard.
"Whatever you want beautiful."
I licked my lips and looked down at him, so turned on right now and bit back my laugh, "I'll have to keep my distance. Maybe like a day a swear word."
I jumped off his lap as his jaw dropped and his eyes widened. I started running and he leapt after me.
He soon caught up to me, he tackled me and held my hands above my head as he straddled my thighs gently. He looked down at me as our hearts both started to pick up their pace. He lifted his gaze from my lips and leaned so close his lips were an inch from my own, "I said to punish me babe, not kill me."
I laughed and wriggled out from under him, "I know. I was kidding."
"Cruel joke."
I laughed harder and he brought me into his side as we laid on the floor of the forest between the trees. "I thought it was funny.'
He shook his head, "Meanie."
I gasped, "Now who's calling me names?"
He smirked, "I got a couple more if you'd like to hear them."
I blushed, "Do you only ever think of being naked?"
He faked confusion, "I don't think about me being naked, only ever you babe."
I smacked his chest and he brought mt hand up to lips, kissing each knuckle.
"Have you thought of names for the pups?" He asked.
"Nope. Why do you have names?"
"We don't know their gender."
"I don't want to."
"What?"
"I don't want to know their gender. Not until I'm holding them. But if you want to-"
"Nope. You surprise me everyday, why shouldn't they?"
I laughed, "I surprise you?"
He nodded, "Like earlier today. I thought you'd be disgusted in me."
I shook my head, "Never."
"Unless I killed a random guy in the street."
"But you wouldn't do that so I will never be disgusted with you."
He kissed me and his eyes were full of love, "You have so much faith in me."
"All my faith is in you."
His smile fell, "What happens when I mess up?"
"I might actually follow through with my threat and give you space." I laughed at his horrified expression, "See, you'll never mess up."
"I love you."
"That's how I know you'll never mess up sexy."
His eyes turned black at that comment and I laughed again before we laid down.
------
I sat on the back deck eating my yogurt and I saw Caden and Daniel emerge from the woods from the direction of the jail cells.
Caden had gone early this morning hoping to get a lead on whatever information he found out yesterday. He said we would talk about it today, last night I missed him too muh to ask anyways.
I thought he would go in the front door like he did yesterday but he slowly walked up to me. I looked up to him as he sat beside me.
"I should shower." Something was off.
He was scared and worried, both extreme emotions. He almost looked shaken.
"Caden?"
"Will you come with me?"
I started to speak and instead just nodded and stood up to put my bowl in the sink when he just followed behind in a daze.
He followed me up the stairs and stopped when I got into the room. He watched me sit on the bed and glanced towards the bathroom.
"Am I joining you?" I slowly walked up to him and he just watched me. I wrapped my arms around his waist, "Caden please say something you're scaring me."
He suddenly saueezed me gently and seemed to relax, "I don't want you out of my hold."
I nodded and he placed his lips to the top of my head. "Come on Caden, you should shower."
He pulled back slightly, "I'm serious Bee. I'm not leaving your side until this is over."
I was past confused but I just nodded. Ray told him something and he doesn't even know how to comprehend it. It has him so scared.
He had held me close the whole shower and half hour later he insisted on wrapping me up with a towel himself to dry me off. This was extreme.
I threw on his shirt and underwear as he dried himself off. I sat on the bed and he soon joined me.
"Will you talk to me about it? You don't have to tell me everything, but please tell me why you're so worried and scared."
He stroked his hand through my hair once and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear before picking me up. He made me straddle his lap before lating back on the bed.
"Caden wouldn't it be easier if-"
"Stop arguing and stay where you are Bee." He said with a laugh.
I nodded, "Yes sir." I said with as much sass as I could muster.
He drew in a shaky breath, "Sir?"
"Caden. Gwt your mind out of your pants-"
"Well actually your pants."
"Caden." I warned with a bright pink face.
He chuckled before it fell quiet and he got serious, "Dan is still there."
"He came back with you-"
"To get Ben. Their going to... interrofate them from now on so I can be here."
"But-"
"I'm not letting you leave my side. I've upped the security too and we'll go back and forth between the houses irregularily so that our habits aren't easy to determine."
I nodded, "But why Caden?"
He tensed before looking up at me with a worried expression, "They're after you and our pups."
"What!? Who?"
"Ray and Cass- my fake parents- they're after you three."
"Why? Why our pups?"
"Because of us. They don't want fated mates back Bee. Ben said he found out that our pups will have fated mates since we restarted it in our blood. Especially since we have stronger blood due to the alpha blood."
"But we aren't the last ones."
"The last ones having children to pass it on. They found a way to make fated mates themselves by injecting the mothers frequently."
"That's why they've been experiencing with blood." He nodded.
"They're being fate themselves. They want to determine who's mates with who. They want to control fate."
"Oh my god." I sighed. I blinked rapidly and my hands by instict went to my stomach.
Caden laid me down on him, "Nobody is coming near you Bee. I will protect you with everything in me. All of us will."
"Caden they won't stop. Especially if we have the six you were talking about."
He sighed, "I know. Bee I want to ask Paul to help us form an army. I want to go after them."
I closed my eyes, it had to be the hormones that had me want to cry just at the thought.
"Don't cry. Please don't."
I sat up and held back my tears, "Hormones." I tried to smile but the thought of him going to war had me so incredibly depressed.
"Let me hold you beautiful." He brought me to his chest. "Just breathe."
"Thank you Caden." I said moments later as I calmed.
"I don't see another option Bee. I want to attack them and have everything settled before you have them. If we wait then we have three people to protect instead of just watching out for you. And a pup will be hard to keep quiet, not to mention that they shouldn't be born into a warzone."
"So you want to do this within the next few months?"
He nodded, "Is that okay Bee?"
I nodded, "Whatever will help us put this behind us. The sooner the better."
"Thanks for understanding."
"It's for the pups, and the pack. Wait-" I sat up, "They've been planning this for thirteen years? How'd they know you would have a fated mate?"
He seemed to think, "I don't know. I don't know if we'll ever know. But either way Bee I'm going to make them all pay."
I nodded, "They've caused so much havoc already."
He nodded, "We should start training as soon as possible."
"Right after we talk to Paul."
He nodded, "And until it happens we are attached at the hip. Okay Bee?"
I nodded, "Okay Caden."
"I thought you would argue a bit."
"Maybe I miss you too much."
He laughed. "And after this you'll be sick of me."
"Maybe that punishment will happen sooner than we thought." I laughed and he flipped me onto my back as he hovered above me, "I was kidding Caden."
His eyes connected with mine and he leaned closer, "We're going to have a lot of time to ourselves Bee." His voice was hoarse.
"How are we ever going to fill it?" I asked innocently.
He kissed up my neck and looked down at me, "I have a few ideas."
"A few?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't worry, I'll keep brainstorming."
"I have no doubt." And his lips met mine.
