I looked at the bracelet on my wrist, which was given by uncle Link when I was formally recognized as his family. I rarely wore it before, but I saw it days ago and wore it because I thought it was beautiful.
I didnât know too much about jewelry, so I could only judge from what it looks like.
Hearing her words, I could not believe it and said, âItâs impossible! Are you kidding me?â
Wasnât it an antique if it really worth hundreds of millions of dollars?
She gave me a blank look and told me, âThe bracelet was produced in the Tang Dynasty. A hundred years ago, when the domestic war was subsided, a member of the royal family sold it to Victor Kennedy, who was a general then, for survival. Victor loved his wife and gave the bracelet to her. With the development of our country, the bracelet should be given to the museum. However, considering the contributions of the Kennedy family to the development of our country, the bracelet was kept in the Kennedy family and was passed from generation to generation. It should be passed on to the daughter-in-law of the Kennedy family. Link is really generous.â
I didnât know the background of the bracelet, or I wonât accept it.
I touched the bracelet and smiled, without saying too much.
Follyâs phone rang and she went to answer it. I stood in the mall and looked around, feeling a little stifling.
There werenât such stores in HL Area, where many of the vendors would sell in the alley. I could buy everything I want by going through the alley.
Then Folly handed me her phone and snickered, âSomeone wants to talk to you.â
Feeling a little doubted, I answered the phone, âHello?â
âItâs me.â someone said. âDennis?â I asked.
Dennis smiled, âWhy is your phone off? I asked Miss. Folly and she said you were only wearing a thin coat. Are you cold?â
Maybe he was the only one who would care about me in such degree.
Seeing Folly smiling at me, I was a little embarrassed, âMy phone was dead so it turned off. Iâm not cold. Then air condition in the mall was on.â
Dennis said, âOkay, then Iâll pick you up later. You can buy anything you want and Iâll pay for you.â
I wanted to smile, but realizing that Folly was looking at me, I stopped, âOkay, see you later!â
Handing the phone back to Folly, I said, âThanks.â
Folly put her phone away, shrugged her shoulders, and bristled, "It feels like I'm being forced to witness your love."
I smiled and didnât say anything.
Suddenly, Folly said, âClara, Dennis really loves you.â
I didnât know why she said so, so I turned to look at her.
She said, âI saw him three years ago when he was walking out of the W Town. He was drunk and was carrying the bottle in his hand. Looking at Bernice, he burst into tears and called your name again and again, begging you not to go. Bernice was not like you but eyes at that time.â
She stopped talking, as if she was remembering the scene.
I froze for a moment, not knowing what to say.
Then she started to talk again, âAfter all, he is the president of the George Group, so I asked someone to take him home. The next day, he came to ma and asked if you had returned. Knowing that he had misidentified, he was depressed. Bernice probably did plastic surgery in your likeness, and then she often appeared in the sight of Dennis. Pitifully, she wouldnât have to die if she knew a little bit about her position.
âDo you want to eat something?â I didnât want to talk more about what had happened, or too much about othersâ memories, because it was painful.
Seeing that I didn't want to talk more, she stopped the topic and continued shopping.
The mall was crowded so I didnât recognize Olivia and Marcus, especially the latter one, who had become more stable and introverted.
Folly said at first, not quite sharply, âHey! You are also here to shop?â
Marcus looked at me for a while and said, âYes.â
Olivia was holding his arm, looking very cordial.
Were they dating?
I didnât ask. After all, it was none of my business.
âWhen did you come back?â Marcus asked me.

âI've been back for quite a while.â I said.
âLetâs have a dinner together,â said Marcus, âDennis will soon go off work. And I ... will call Mario.â
I pursed my lips. Dennis was not in a good relationship with Mario because of Clariana.
I knew what Marcus mean. They shouldnât ended up separated because of a child.
âOkay.â I nodded.
Folly looked at Olivia. Inevitably there will be a quarrel.
âIf Miss. Pearson had done what she should do, everything would be better, no one would get hurt.â said Folly sarcastically.
Olivia looked at Folly angrily. She has changed her habit of screaming when feeling angry.
With a lower tone, she said unhappily, âMiss Lewis is still meddling. Maybe you should change your hobby.â
Not feeling angry, Folly shrugged, âI will do anything I want. Itâs none of your business.â
âWell, Miss Lewis, could you please close your mouse and not care too much about others?â said Olivia.
Their quarrel might sound childish for others, but none of them wanted to stop.
I tugged Folly's clothes, indicating that she almost on the line.
Folly skimmed and stopped. Then she walked toward a jewelry store, saying that she need to buy something to stroke herself down.
