I frowned. I knew these things for sure. When Yank Gibson died, Yara drove Gloria crazy with these things, and then she couldnât take the blame so she jumped to her death.
But Iâve never told anyone about any of this. How come?
Dennis looked at me and frowned slightly. âWas it you?â
I shook my head. âNo!â
Dennis nodded and looked at Yara coldly. âIf she said it wasnât her, it must be true. Youâd better prove it, or if you touch her again, Iâll have to be very rude to you.â
Yara looked at him in disbelief, unable to say a word. âDennis, how stupid you are! The Gibson family is dead, and she and I are the only ones alive who know about it. Could I possibly discredit myself at a time like this?â
Dennis kept a poker face. âYouâll have to wait until you have proof before you go after her.â
With that, Dennis dragged me out of the kitchen and led me straight to the bedroom.
I took Nanny Daisyâs medicine box and followed him to the bedroom.
In the bedroom.
I looked down and cleaned Dennisâs wound. Some of the blood was congealed, some black and still stuck.
âDoes it hurt?â Ten fingers are connected to the heart, and the hand is the most sensitive part of the body to pain, and he was injured in the palm.
He shook his head and smiled. âAre you feeling sorry for me?â
I pursed my lips and sighed. âDonât be so impulsive next time.â
âSilly girl!â He raised his hand and touched my face. âA girlâs face is very precious. Next time, you must learn to hide, ok?â
I nodded, put my head on one side, bandaged his wound, and sighed, âIt looks like someoneâs meddling with Yaraâs business.â
âYou need leave that matter alone. Frankly, we have nothing to do with the Gibson family. Iâll take care of Yara.â
I pressed my lips together, which was hardly a yes. Hankâs death is something I canât get over. I didnât feel bad about Yara. Instead, I thought she deserved it.
I just couldnât figure out why it was exposed and written in such detail when there were not many people who clearly knew about it.
There was no way the Shone Family could have known, so who else but Yara and me would have known?
I stopped thinking. I looked up at Dennis and said, âIs everything okay at work?â
He had been more and more haggard recently.
He smiled and shook his head. âIt is inevitable that a company will hit some bumps when it expands. Itâll all work out. Donât worry.â
He didnât want to worry me, so I dropped it and said, âI might have to go to Country M to find Alex and Diana, maybe for a couple of days.â
He frowned. âThe New Year is coming. Canât we wait until after the New Year?â
I sighed. âIâm just so worried about them. You said Dr. Bennett was in Country M, and I asked him to keep an eye on Alex and Diana, but he never seemed to bring me any information.â
The wound was bandaged and Dennis pulled me next to him and said calmly, âLetâs sit down and discuss this calmly, ok?â
Rarely had he had the patience to talk to me. I nodded, looked at him and said, âYes!â
âNow the temperature in Country M is at least ten degrees lower than that in City P, and you have just recovered, so it is not suitable for you to go to country M at this time. Do you know that?â
I nodded.
He put his arm around me and continued, âBy the way, Link Kennedy wants to give you a big welcome. It must be before the New Year. And this whole Luna thing youâve been working on for so long, youâre so close to success, arenât you going to stay and see what happens?â
I looked up at him in surprise for a few seconds and said, âYou...You always knew?â
He smiled, raised his hand, scraped my nose, and said, âDo you think Jackie, a woman with her bare hands, can get information so easily that you canât in City P?â
I was stunned and felt the warmth I could not say. He always seemed to know what I wanted to do, so he never stopped me, always went out of his way to help me.
There was a warm current across my heart. I hugged him against his heart and said hoarsely, âThank you!â
He kissed me on the forehead and said, âWhat did Olivia say today?â
âAbout his mother.â Today my lower abdomen didnât hurt so much, but I just didnât feel strong.
He said, âI told Marcus to send her to Country M so she can have a good life there.â
âOk.â I said lightly.
Sensing my emotion, he raised his hand and grabbed my chin so I could look him in the eye. âAre you angry?â
âNo!â I shook my head and sighed. âI knew you couldnât let go of this responsibility from the moment you said yes to Calvin. The journey of life is still long, and the future is not clear, so we just need to live the present.â
Grandpa was a retired soldier, and Dennis was brought up by him, so he instilled in Dennis the idea that mission and responsibility were their lifelong beliefs. So all these years, even though Dennis didnât have feelings for Olivia, he went out of his way to take care of her. I had to say, Calvin hasd really chosen a person who deserved his sisterâs life.
...
Yara thought for sure that I told the reporter about the Gibson family thing, so she was determined to make me feel bad.
Dennis was on a business trip, and Yara was always picking on me when I stayed at the villa. So I went directly to the company to see the progress of JD Technology Co., Ltd.
But Luna ran into me before I left the villa. Winter in City P was extremely cold, but she dressed fashionably and warmly. She was wearing simple black pumps and a stylish white knee-length down jacket.
Seeing that I was leaving, she got out of the Land Rover, took off her sunglasses and looked at me, âYou seem busy, Miss Kennedy. Are you going out on such a cold day?â
She probably came to me because she was being investigated. I wasted no time and said, âMrs. Knight, can I help you?â
She smiled gracefully and said gently, âItâs cold outside. Would you mind getting in the car for a chat?â
She opened the door and added, âDonât worry, the car is air-conditioned and warm!â
I got in the car, sat in the passenger seat and said, âGo ahead!â
Please Love Me, Mr. George ï¤Chapter 242 Olivia was Looking for Trouble 1 âYou gave Link Kennedy those files, didnât you?â She said, leaning back in her chair, her face pale and indifferent.
I thought for a moment and said, âWhat exactly do you mean?â
She smiled, fingering her sunglasses. âTo tell you the truth, you really do look like me when I was young, vengeful and cold. All these years, all my efforts have been to marry Samuel Lewis. Now Iâve done what I wanted to do all these years. Youâre smart enough to know that Olivia and Samuel are the people I care about the most.â
