I pressed my lips together and changed the subject. âWhat are you guys doing here?â
He looked away from the empty glass on the table and answered unquestionably, âWho spilled it?â
I frowned. âAre you going to beat her up or give her a cup of coffee?â
He raised his eyebrows. âWhich do you prefer?â
I...
âAll right, you guys go talk. I'm gonna go. I have work to do!â What was the point? He couldnât beat Olivia up anyway, and besides, he wouldnât.
He took me by the wrist, âWhat did she want to talk to you about?â
I felt a little headache and impatient. âDennis, letâs talk about it when we get home. Why donât you go talk to them first?â
Breaking his hand apart, I walked straight out of the cafe.
I didn't get far before Dennis followed me. He threw his coat around me. âYou didnât drive here, did you? Iâll take you home later and change your clothes before you go to work.â
I scowled and shook my head. âNo, itâs already done. Iâll go to work to deal with some business and go back.â
âWhat do you have to do right now?â he said crossly. When I looked at him, he became less serious and said, âGo back to your bath and change your clothes. Donât you feel bad?â
âItâs okay.â
âClara!â He frowned. âWe could get along better, more like a couple, not like that!â
I scowled unconsciously. As Nanny Daisy said, he had been really trying to handle things well lately, and I could see his care and attention.
After a pause, I looked at him and nodded. âWell, you can take me home.â
His face brightened a little and he pulled me into the car. âWonât you tell them goodbye?â I said as we started.
âItâs all right!â After answering me, he drove straight to the villa.
Back at the villa, I went to the bathroom and took a shower. When I came out, Dennis was on the balcony talking on the phone.
The balcony was not big, so I can still hear Olivia on the other end of the phone.
Dennis didnât seem very happy and his voice was low, âOlivia, you and I can deal with this between us, you don't need to mess with Clara.â
Olivia snapped. âWhat do you mean I picked on her? Did she complain to you?â
âNo!â Dennis lowered his voice, looked back at me at the noise behind him, and came straight in from the balcony.
Olivia's voice was loud and irritated. âWhat makes you think I did it? Am I that bad in your heart?â
Dennis didnât really want to talk about this. He paused.
âThis is the last time. There will be no next time. If this is about your mother, then you can come to me, because Iâm involved, and Iâm only going to be more involved.â
âDennis!â Olivia sounded furious. âMy mother was just trying to protect me. What did she do to deserve this?â
Dennis frowned, his eyes on me and motioned for me to dry my hair. I looked at him sideways and didnât want to go.
He smiled, then looked serious again at the phone, âIâm just trying to get justice for my kid. Am I wrong?â
This left her speechless.
Olivia had nothing to say and just hung up.
Dennis tossed the phone away, pulled me down and wiped my hair.
His phone rang several times, but he didnât answer it. I lost my temper and looked back at him. âYou take care of your business!â
He said very calmly, â Let me dry your hair first!â
And I...
After a long time, when my hair was dry, he was ready to go.
Seeing him out of the door, I went straight to the office. I was going to talk to Hank about AI. The project had just started, and I hadnât figured out many things yet, so I wanted to talk to him about it carefully.
But after a long search, I heard his assistant say he was in the hospital, and that Yank Gibson was dying.
I called Hank several times, but I couldnât get through. I didnât know what was going on, so I called Yara.
When I got through, all I could hear were heart-wrenching cries, but they werenât Yaraâs.
I said, âYara, Howâs Mr. Gibson?â
âPlease tell Dennis heâs dead. Tell him to come to the hospital with you. Let him talk to Hank about the funeral.â Yaraâs voice was calm. I couldnât pick out any emotion.
I was a little stunned, and I couldnât react. Why did Yank die so suddenly?
Wasnât he fine before?
I asked for the address and went straight there. Dennis was probably busy and didnât answer his phone, so I just texted him the address and went there myself.
Yank was dead by the time I got to the hospital. Gloria sat half-paralyzed in the doorway of the hospital room, her face haggard and lifeless.
Yara wasnât there, and neither was Hank. Gloria looked up at me at the noise.
I didnât know why, but all of a sudden she ran at me and threw me to the ground, Shouting, âNone of the George family are good people. Your aunt took my husband, you took my son, youâre both bad people.â
Gloria got too emotional and pulled me around, hitting and cursing. I was caught off guard, and she pushed me so hard that I was pinned to the ground, and she scratched blood from my face and neck.
She ripped my hair off a lot, and the nurse saw that and pulled her away.
She must have been stimulated. She was a little crazy, desperately cursed at me, âYouâre gonna get what you deserve, all of you. Yara, just because you inherited the Gibson Family doesnât mean you won. I will fight with you for the rest of my life, and you will go to hell.â
Hank was taking care of Yankâs death paperwork. When he came back, he looked at me and said, âWhat happened?â
Gloria stunned me for a moment. I looked at her and shook my head. âI donât know,â I said.
Yara came and looked at Gloria, who was half crazy. She just frowned and gave me a look. âAre you okay?â
I shook my head and I was worried about Hank. His father had just died, and his mother was like this. He was just a man, although he looked calm on the surface. I didnât know what was going on in his heart.
Please Love Me, Mr. George ï¤Chapter 211 The Man Who Spoke by Power 5 Yankâs body was taken directly to the funeral home for cremation. The funeral was scheduled for next month. Hank took care of everything and sent Gloria away.
He looked at Yara and said simply, âMy father has given you the management of the Gibson Family. I will make a handover to the company as soon as possible and then go back to Country M.â
Yara nodded slightly, with a light emotion on her face.
I was stunned for a few seconds, and then I realized that Yank had handed over the Gibson Family to Yara. Hank was the son of Yank. How could he...
Hank said and walked wearily out of the hospital. I followed, not knowing how to comfort him. âHank, have you eaten yet?â
