048 | a kiss?

ALL I WANT IS YOU | hector fort932 words~5 min read

The night had been perfect. Everything had fallen into place effortlessly-the victory, the dinner, the walk through the city. And now, as they stood outside Gianna's apartment building, the cool night air swirling around them, everything felt... right. There was no rushing, no pressure. Just the quiet hum of the city and the weight of what was between them.

Gianna stood in front of her door, the key in her hand but her attention fully on Hector, who had driven her home after a night that had felt like something out of a rom-com. His hand was still resting on the small of her back, the warmth of his touch sending an unexpected flutter through her. They stood there for a moment, neither of them saying anything, but both feeling the quiet tension in the air. It was like time had slowed down, like the world outside them had faded away.

Hector cleared his throat, breaking the silence, but there was a playful, tender edge to his voice. "Well... I guess this is it. Another night in the books, hermosa."

Gianna smiled, her heart racing a little faster as she looked up at him. He was so close-so close that she could feel his breath, warm and steady. "Yeah... another night," she echoed, her voice soft. She couldn't quite bring herself to turn the key in the door just yet. There was something about being with him in this moment, something that made her not want it to end.

He smiled, but this time, it wasn't just his usual easy grin. There was something deeper in it, something more sincere. He looked at her for a long moment, his gaze lingering on her lips before meeting her eyes again.

"You know," Hector said, his voice a little softer now, "I'm really glad we did this. Tonight, I mean."

Gianna nodded, feeling the same way. "Me too. It's been perfect."

His smile grew a little wider, and for a split second, Gianna swore she could see something in his eyes-something more than just friendship. And then, without warning, he leaned in closer, his hand brushing against her cheek, tilting her face toward his.

Gianna's breath caught in her throat. She could feel the warmth of his body, the way his presence filled the space around her. Her heart pounded in her chest, and before she could think twice, Hector's lips were on hers.

It was soft at first, tentative almost, as if they were both testing the waters, unsure of what the other would do. But then, as if the world had decided for them, the kiss deepened. Hector's hand slid to the back of her neck, pulling her closer, and Gianna's hands found their way to his chest. The kiss was slow, lingering, like they had all the time in the world. The world around them seemed to disappear-the noise of the city, the streetlights, even the cool breeze-all of it faded into the background as they stood there, wrapped up in each other.

Hector pulled away just enough to look into her eyes, his forehead resting against hers. His breath was shallow, but his smile was genuine, as if he had been waiting for this moment just as much as she had.

"See," he said, his voice low and teasing, "I've been wanting to do that for a while now."

Gianna's heart skipped a beat at his words, and she couldn't help but laugh, a little breathless. "You have, huh?"

"Definitely," Hector grinned, his thumb gently brushing her cheek. "I've got to say, I'm glad I finally got the chance."

Gianna couldn't stop smiling as she looked up at him, her fingers still lightly tracing the fabric of his shirt. "Me too," she whispered, her voice filled with warmth and a quiet kind of certainty. "But I've got to say, Fort... you're not as subtle as you think."

Hector chuckled softly, his fingers tracing small circles on her back. "I'll try to be more subtle next time," he teased, but there was a hint of sincerity in his voice that made Gianna's stomach flutter.

Before she could respond, he kissed her again, this time quicker but no less meaningful. The kiss was playful, full of promise, and Gianna felt herself melting into him, the world around them suddenly feeling like it was exactly where it was supposed to be.

Finally, after what felt like forever, Hector pulled away just enough to speak. "Well, I guess I should let you get inside."

Gianna nodded, her chest rising and falling with each breath, her heart still racing. "Yeah... I should probably go before you try to steal another kiss."

Hector grinned mischievously. "I'll be happy to steal as many as you'll give me."

Gianna laughed, shaking her head as she finally stepped back toward the door. She turned the key in the lock and pushed the door open, but before she stepped inside, she turned back to him.

"Goodnight, Hector," she said softly, her smile still lingering.

Hector gave her a smile full of that same quiet intensity, his eyes locked onto hers. "Goodnight, hermosa," he said, his voice almost a whisper.

As Gianna stepped inside, closing the door behind her, she leaned against it for a moment, her heart still racing. She could still feel the warmth of his lips on hers, the way his touch had sent sparks through her. The kiss had been everything she had imagined-and more.

And as she stood there, a smile tugging at her lips, she knew one thing for certain: this was only the beginning.
