The sound of the final whistle still echoed in Gianna's mind as she walked out of the stadium, the joy of the win still hanging in the air. The crowd had slowly begun to filter out, but Gianna lingered, savoring the last moments of excitement before it all quieted down. As the players made their way off the pitch, Hector caught her eye and flashed her a grin, his excitement palpable even from a distance.

"Come on, hermosa. Let's go celebrate with dinner," Hector called out, his voice cutting through the noise. He had already changed out of his kit and into a casual black t-shirt and jeans, his hair still damp with sweat.

Gianna felt her heart flutter, a smile spreading across her face. Hermosa. She had heard him call her that a few times now, and each time it made her feel something-something she wasn't entirely ready to admit. There was something about the way he said it, so effortlessly, that made her feel both special and a little bit nervous at the same time.

As they walked side by side to the car, the cool night air brushed against her skin, and for a moment, everything felt perfect. The world around them was bustling with people heading to nearby bars and restaurants to continue the celebration, but it was just the two of them. And that felt... different. A little more intimate.

Dinner was at a small, cozy restaurant downtown. Hector had made reservations in advance, and Gianna was grateful for the gesture. He always knew how to make her feel important, even in the smallest of ways. They sat at a corner table, and as soon as they were seated, a waiter arrived with menus. Gianna scanned the options, though she wasn't really looking at them. Instead, her mind kept wandering to Hector and how close he was, how comfortable she felt with him.

"Any ideas on what you want, hermosa?" Hector asked, leaning back in his chair, his eyes glinting mischievously.

Gianna met his gaze and gave him a small, teasing smile. "You really like calling me hermosa, don't you?"

Hector raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a playful grin. "Well, I'm just stating the obvious when I call you hermosa."

Gianna couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head. "You know, I don't think I'm the only one who notices how often you say it."

He chuckled, his gaze softening. "What can I say? You deserve it." His voice dropped a bit, and the teasing edge faded, replaced by something more sincere. "You really do, Gianna."

Gianna's heart skipped a beat at the way he said her name, and she suddenly found herself unsure of what to say. She looked away, trying to find something else to focus on. The waiter returned with their drinks, and they both ordered their meals, but the atmosphere had shifted just a little. It wasn't as lighthearted as it had been before, but the weight of the moment felt... comfortable. Like they had crossed a line without meaning to.

The conversation drifted to other things as they ate-small talk about the game, the team, life in general-but every now and then, Gianna caught Hector's gaze lingering on her for just a second too long. She couldn't explain it, but something had changed between them, and it wasn't just the playful teasing or the way he called her hermosa. It was the way he looked at her, as though he saw her in a way he hadn't before.

"So, are we celebrating your goal, or just the win?" Gianna asked, taking a sip of her drink. Her attempt to steer the conversation back to something lighthearted seemed to work as Hector grinned, leaning forward.

"Celebrating both, obviously," he said with a wink. "But I'll take the goal, too. I'm pretty proud of it."

Gianna laughed, shaking her head. "You should be. You played amazingly today, as always."

Hector shrugged, his smile never fading. "It's just what I do. But I'm glad you're here to see it. You've always been here, Giu. Since the start."

Her heart warmed at his words, and for a moment, everything else faded away. The noise of the restaurant, the hustle of the city-it was all distant, like it didn't matter anymore. The only thing that mattered was this moment, sitting here with him.

Gianna smiled softly, feeling a quiet confidence. "I'm glad, too."

Dinner passed easily after that, filled with more laughter and easy conversation. The atmosphere was relaxed, and for the first time in a long while, Gianna felt like she could breathe freely. She wasn't worried about what came next, not yet, anyway.

When the meal was finished, Hector paid the bill with a smile and a wink at Gianna. They left the restaurant together, stepping out into the cool night air once more.

"Thanks for tonight, Fort," Gianna said, looking up at him as they walked side by side. "It was really nice."

He turned to her, his smile gentle but meaningful. "The night's not over yet, hermosa. How about a walk? We've got plenty of time."

Gianna hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "I'd like that."

They wandered through the city streets, the silence between them comfortable, the connection between them undeniable. And with each step, Gianna's heart felt a little lighter, a little more certain that whatever was happening between them was real-more than just friendship.

As they strolled through the empty streets, Hector stopped by a small park, his eyes searching Gianna's face with that familiar intensity.

"Do you remember when we used to run around this park after training?" Hector asked, his voice filled with nostalgia. "You, me, Marc... it feels like another lifetime ago."

Gianna smiled, her gaze softening as she looked at him. "I do. We were so young then. So carefree."

"Yeah, we were." Hector's voice was quieter now, his tone holding something more serious. "But you've always been a constant in my life, Giu. Always."

Gianna's breath caught in her throat, her heart pounding as she realized how much she had grown to rely on him, how much he had become a part of her world in ways she hadn't fully acknowledged until now.

She turned to him, her voice barely above a whisper. "And you've always been there for me, Hector. I-I don't know what I'd do without you."

For a moment, he didn't say anything. Instead, he just reached over and gently took her hand, squeezing it softly.

"Then I guess we'll never have to find out," Hector said, his smile warm and full of promise.

And in that moment, Gianna realized that maybe, just maybe, they were no longer just friends.
