Chapter 15:
Hazel POV:
Quietly I closed my bedroom door shut and breathed in a deep, calming breath. I wasn't going to cry. Not again. I was fed up of crying. The funeral was a complete blur. I don't even know what happened. I only remember the white casket being drawn downwards into the ground and it disappeared out of sight. My nose tingled and I rubbed it impatiently. I tried asking my parents about my grandmothers surname but they acted like they didn't hear me. Seth was re-scheduled to leave tomorrow early morning so today was my last day with him. It wasn't really that fun but we tried to act normal-ish and be ourselves for just a few hours. He even managed to make me laugh and smile a genuine smile. A smile that I hadn't put on since I was twelve. I could never manage to smile a real smile from that time on and I always said that I was OK when I wasn't. They believed all of my fake smiles and they never mentioned the 'accident' again and I didn't bring it up either.
The train back to Bradford was extremely silent since the train was almost empty. My parents slept all the way from Leeds to Bradford but I couldn't close eye to eye. How could they manage to even sleep after everything?
I didn't bother turning on the lights. I noticed Zayn's bedroom lights turned on and noticed he was sitting down on his bed, his laptop on his lap. I breathed in and quietly walked towards my desk and dumped my bag on the desk's surface and kicked off my shoes. I slipped out of my jeans and took off my sweater and walked towards my bed. I put on a white top and grey sweatpants and flopped down on my bed, staring up at the white ceiling. I had text ed Chase and we had decided to go to Niall's gathering tomorrow since he is a part of the football team, he was invited.
I closed my eyes and felt a lump rise in my throat. I sniffled and blinked repeatedly to stop any tears from leaving my eyes. I needed to talk to someone but at the same time, I just wasn't in the mood to tell them my current life position because I'm 101% sure that there are other people in worst situations. I can barely handle the situation I'm in, let alone a situation worse than this. I looked over at the clock and groaned. It was still 9 in the evening and I could hear movements in Zayn's bedroom and drawers being opened and closed. I heard him yell something and his mother yelling from downstairs. He slammed a drawer shut and I bit the inside of my cheek to stop myself from opening the window and yelling at him to stop making all the noise.
I shifted on my side, giving my back to the window and attempted to close my eyes but someone had to obviously ruin it.
"ZAYNIE!" I heard Harry screech and Zayn's bedroom door slamming against the wall. I flinched and gritted my teeth together. "I've missed you!"
"I just saw you this morning!" Zayn said with a chuckle.
I heard other voices and I was guessing they were Louis' and Niall's.
Considering the fact that my window was closed, I heard all of their conversation. Apparently they were going out to this club and they were going to meet with Lenni and Jesy there and Harry was planning to do unimaginable things to a sizzling hot girl and Louis was planning to do his new moves on the dance floor and get extremely drunk and run around in the streets naked. Niall was planning to spend the night with Jesy at the cinema after they went out with the rest of the group to eat at the usual place.
"Hazel arrived, by the way," I heard Harry announce and my eyes flew open.
"No she didn't," Zayn said, his voice slightly trailing off.
"Yeah, my mum saw them getting off the train around an hour ago," Harry replied. I slowly sat up and got off my bed quietly. I creeped towards my window and peeped out from my window. Zayn was leaning on his desk in a sitting position, his arms crossed against his chest staring ahead of him and straight at my window but I'm guessing he didn't see me; Harry was sprawled on Zayn's bed, his arms crossed behind his head; and Louis and Niall were sat down on Zayn's bed, looking at Zayn.
"Zayn, what's wrong?" Niall asked.
Zayn shook his head and got off the desk and walked towards the wardrobe and pulled out a white short sleeved top and a red and black checked blouse, leaving it unbuttoned.
When Harry told him that I was back, he looked sort of confused but I couldn't be so sure. My bedroom's door flung open and my mother walked in, turning on the lights and looking around the room. Her eyes spotted me crouching down next to window. Her eyebrows rose slightly and she rested her hand on her hip in a very posh manner.
"Hazel, what are you doing there?" she asked curiously.
I could practically sense Niall's, Louis', Harry's and Zayn's eyes all on my window. I looked at my mother and gave her a death glare.
"Oh, you know. Just casually sitting down on the floor," I replied, sarcastically.
She rolled her eyes and her eyes drifted off to look out of my window. She smiled and waved. I silently groaned when I realised she was waving at Zayn. I stood up and stretched my arms upwards. She turned back to look at me.
"Anyway, your father and I are going out to have something to eat since it's still around 9 and we are very hungry," she explained, slightly pushing both of her lips forwards looking even more posh. "Do you want to come?"
"Not hungry," I replied flatly. I had barely eaten since the day of my grandmother's death.
"OK darling," she replied. She turned around but before she was fully turned around she stopped half way and looked out of the window. She furrowed her eyebrows slightly together, then walked forwards and pushed open the window. I followed her every move and when she opened the window my eyes widened. "Yes, Zayn?"
"Afternoon, Mrs Anderson," I heard him reply. "Um, is Hazel there?"
My eyes widened.
"Yes, of course, she's right over here," she replied and looked at me expectantly.
I rolled my eyes and looked out of the window. Zayn was casually leaning on the window sill, the others looking at him curiously from behind him.
"Hey," he said.
"Hi," I replied, sounding curious.
He smiled and momentarily looked at my mother, then back at me. "The group and I are going to get something to eat then go out afterwards, wanna come?" he asked.
I slightly raised an eyebrow at him. "Uh," I trailed off, not knowing how to answer. He knew what happened, so why did he ask me if I wanted to go out with them?
"Of course! She'd love to!" my mother replied for me and right at that moment, I wanted to practically strangle her. "We won't be here and you'll probably be bored here all alone!"
I gave her a 'What the fuck is your problem!?' look. She smiled at me innocently and walked back towards the door.
"Come on then, get preparing," she said and quickly left my room. I stared at the door in disbelief, then I remembered that Zayn, Louis, Niall and Harry were on the other side. Slowly, I turned my head to look at them. They were slightly smiling. I sent Zayn death glares and he smiled innocently at me.
"Come on then, get preparing," he mimicked my mother and I rolled my eyes. "No seriously, we should have been there like ten minutes ago."
"I hate you so much right now," I replied and walked towards my walk in closet and opened the door.
He chuckled and I closed the closet door shut behind me.
I rammed through my closet but all I found were skinny jeans and some dresses which I wasn't planning on wearing. I chose a pair of black monochrome patterned leggings and a thin black top that lasted till my hips. I let my hair down since it was straightened and applied some foundation, concealer, eye liner, mascara and a bit of plain lip balm so that my lips didn't look dry. I slipped into a pair of black ballerina shoes with a tiny black bow stuck to the front. I placed my phone in a tiny black pocket, put in some money and closed the zip.
My phone beeped and I unzipped the tiny pocket and checked the message.
We're outside. Don't be too long. -Zayn
I rolled my eyes and placed my phone back in the tiny pocket and zipped it shut. I looked at myself in the mirror and faked a smile. I turned off the lights and walked downstairs. Apparently my parents had left without a single word. I opened the front door and grabbed the key door from the key hanger and placed it in my tiny pocket, put on the alarm and closed the door. I saw four tall figures outside my gate and from their voices, I figured it was Zayn, Louis, Harry and Niall. I walked down the drive way, opened the gate and closed it shut behind me.
"All ready?" Louis asked and I nodded. "Let's go!"
We got into Louis' car and I ended up squashed between Niall and Zayn in the back seat. Louis parked the car into a tiny parking space and we walked towards the usual restaurant. I noticed Jesy and Lenni sat down around a table and I sighed a sigh of relief, thanking God that I wasn't a girl alone. They smiled and waved at us and we walked towards them. I sat down between Lenni and Harry, having Zayn, Niall and Jesy in front of me, Louis next to Harry and Liam soon joined us and sat down on Lenni's other side. They talked about loads of things and the food soon arrived, though I didn't order anything.
I talked with the rest of the group but only small talk. I wasn't really in the mood to talk a lot and I was extremely tired right now but if I went home, I wouldn't be able to close eye to eye. After around an hour and a half, we left the restaurant and Jesy and Niall went their own way and walked to the cinema while we walked towards some club that they went to.
"What's the club's name?" I asked out of curiosity to no one in particular.
"Shadow," Harry replied.
"Isn't that club like eighteen plus?"
"Yep," Harry replied with a smirk.
I chuckled and shook my head.
Fifteen minutes later we were inside the club. Apparently, the usual body guard was some sort of a second cousin to Harry and he let us all in, even though we didn't really look eighteen. The club was tightly packed and I was dragged to the middle of the dance floor, close to the live DJ with the huge speakers which were currently slowly making me deaf from both ears. Everyone around me was dancing and I felt a bit out of place but I joined in the dancing, moving my hips to the rhythm.
Harry was dancing with some blonde chick wearing a tight, short black dress and huge red heels and when I met his eyes he smirked and I rolled my eyes while smirking at his dirty mind.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and I spun around and came face to face with Louis.
"Want a drink?" he yelled over the music and I shrugged. We walked towards the bar, Zayn, Liam and Lenni following us leaving Harry behind with the blonde chick. Louis ordered a shot tray. We took two each and downed the first one together. I winced and closed an eye. I shivered and felt goose bumps rise on both of my arms.
"What the hell is in this?" I heard Liam ask.
"The house's special!" Louis screamed over the music and downed his second shot, then took Lenni's second shot and downed it in a second. I raised an eyebrow at him and he grinned and ordered a drink, the liquid was green and I wondered how it tasted. He gulped it down in one gulp and quickly ordered another one.
"Swagamasta is off to find a hot chick, later!" he yelled and sipped from his cup and he quickly disappeared into the crowd.
"Guys I have to go," Lenni said after checking her phone. "It's already midnight and my mum wants me home, bad mood."
"Night Len," Zayn, Liam and I said. She hugged us briefly and walked towards the exit of the club.
We ordered drinks for us, Zayn chose the drinks. I sipped mine and nodded, approving it. It tasted good, I had to admit that.
'Drinking From The Bottle' by Tinie Tempah and Calvin Harries screamed out of the speakers and I smiled.
I got off my chair and turned around to look at Zayn and Liam. "Let's go dance!"
"What?" Liam asked me.
"LET'S GO DANCE!" I yelled over the loud music and they both shrugged and we walked to the middle of the dance floor and danced to the song.
"I'm in here busy looking for the next top model, who's wearing something new and something old and something borrowed, I know this crazy life can be a bitter pill to swallow, so forget about tomorrow, tonight, weâre drinking from the bottle!" I sang along and danced. I felt a pair of hands on my waist and I turned around and met a pair of gorgeous brown eyes. I narrowed my eyes at him and he gave me a tiny smile.
"You're the one that wanted to dance," he said and I cocked an eyebrow at him. "I'm not going to dance alone."
"So you're going to dance with me?"
He shrugged and I rolled my eyes. "There are other girls to dance with and you have Sophia. I'm not going to be your little cheating puppet, Zayn."
I took his hands off my waist and took a step backwards. He furrowed his eyebrows together, looking confused.
"Cheating puppet?" he asked and slightly shook his head. "I'm not exactly cheating on her because we're not exactly together!"
"Oh, sure!" I replied sarcastically, rolling my eyes in the process. "Because that's why you're always holding each others hand in-between lessons and eating each others faces or fucking each other!"
"That doesn't count!" he yelled furiously.
"Yes, it does!" I cried out in disbelief. "If whatever you're doing is all fun and games for you, it sure as hell isn't for her! She really likes you, Zayn, and all you're doing is playing with her emotions!"
"I'm not!"
"Really? If you're really not then why did you kiss me at Harry's house party? Or why were you trying to dance with me?"
He opened his mouth to say something but closed it shut. He set his jaw in anger and narrowed his eyes at me.
"I'm not."
I rolled my eyes. "Sure. Keep telling yourself that. Just break up with her and stop hurting her."
"I thought you hated her," he replied with a smirk.
"IÂ dislike her, there's a big difference," I replied. "And if it was me in her place, I would hate you."
He bit his bottom lip and sighed out heavily.
"By the way, why did you ask me to come here if you know what happened?" I asked him curiously, suddenly remembering.
"You are going out tomorrow so why not tonight?"
My eyes widened at him in disbelief. "Are you even serious right now?"
He nodded.
"Wow," I said and shook my head in anger. "You selfish bastard. I just had the fucking funeral this morning and you expect me to go out!?"
"You did go out!"
"Only because my mother forced me to!" I screamed at him. "You fucking knew! I'm only going out tomorrow so that Chase or the others won't suspect anything! I would have rested a bit and calmed down from what happened and I would have been able to face them! But no! What the fuck do you care!?"
"I care," I heard him mumble.
"You don't."
He looked at me sadly but I didn't care. I was way over forgiving him right now. I turned around and pushed people out of my way. I heard my name being called out but I ignored him. I felt my eyes start to water but I blinked furiously to get rid of the tears. Someone grabbed my wrist and turned me around. I came face to face with Harry, he looked at me worried, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Where are you going?" he yelled over the music.
"Home."
I freed my wrist out of his grip and saw Zayn pushing people away and making his way over towards us. I turned around and continued my way towards the exit. I went down the stairs and walked between the security out front and started my walk back home which was going to be a long walk since we had come with Louis' car. I hadn't noticed that I had started crying and that I probably looked like a zombie panda right now. People looked at me curiously but I bowed my head downwards, my hair slightly shielding my face. I bit my bottom lip to stop a whimper from escaping my lips. I hiccuped and bit harder on my lip.
He's just a selfish bastard that only cares for his needs. He just plays with a girl's emotions, like he's doing with Sophia. He doesn't care. He only cares about whatever he needs. He doesn't care about you, you stupid girl! You're stupid for thinking that he was different then the rest of the Malik's. You were stupid to think that he was like your grandmother. You stupid little girl.
