Chapter 1:

Hazel POV:

Bradford. From all places in England, my beloved parents had to decide on moving to Bradford. What a shame to the Anderson's family name. I don't even know why my Father's parents let him move houses to Bradford. My Father, knew who lived in the area of Bradford that we were moving in. He knew perfectly. And right now, as much as I loved my father, I hated him, possibly as much as I loathed the Malik's.

My parents weren't much fans of hating, it wasn't one of their top priorities to dislike the Malik's. In fact, they didn't even care what they did to our family, back in the past. Oh, but my grandparents were and I was all ears to hear the unbelievable story. I was mainly brought up with my father's parents. I loved my grandparents to death, that was why I was practically brought up by them since I spent almost every day at their house instead of mine. I was an only child and since both of my parents worked, I had to spend every day with my grandparents but I didn't mind, like other teenagers do. They were my heroes and I counted them more like second parents to me, instead of grandparents.

Anyway, back to the present. The house movers had taken almost every furniture, except for mine, since I was getting a new room which was larger than my old bedroom. We were leaving in about twenty minutes and I was still packing my summer clothes into a huge suitcase.

I've been dreading this day for a month and three days, to be exact. I wasn't going to miss my friends or boyfriend, because I had none since I was home schooled from the age of eight. I was going to miss my grandparents, obviously. They lived next door and my mother's sister, together with her husband and my cousin, who lived a few houses away from mine.

I groaned and dumped a shirt on top of the neat pile of summer clothes in the suitcase. I closed the  top flap and tried to zip it up but the zipper wouldn't budge due to the large amount of clothes inside. I sighed out heavily and stood in front of my bed, thinking. I climbed on top of it but fell backwards.

"Seriously!?" I mumbled and attempted to climb on the fat suitcase. I managed to sit down but I was too light for the top to decrease in size and maybe, just maybe, manage to reach down and catch the zipper between my fingers and zip it close. But as always, that was quite impossible. I heard a car ignition turning off in the driveway and I looked out of the window and recognized the red car parked in the driveway. My older cousin, Seth, walked out of the car, his dirty blond hair in his usual style, my aunt, which was my father's twin, walked out of the driver seat and hugged my mother, which had walked down the driveway to welcome her sister-in-law. My uncle, apparently, hadn't come. He was probably busy at work, as usual. I opened the window and bended forwards to look at the three of them.

"Seth!" I yelled and all three heads turned their heads upwards. Seth smirked and my mother looked at me disapprovingly.

"Hazel! Get your head back in there before you fall!" she yelled and I chuckled and rolled my eyes.

"Now, now, don't be so unrealistic mother," I said, sarcastically, turning my attention on my cousin. "You, get your ass up here and help me close the damn suitcase!"

He rolled his eyes and casually strolled towards the front door and out of sight. I looked back at my mother and aunt, they were both looking at me disapprovingly. I smiled and waved my hand at my aunt. She sighed and rolled her eyes, chuckling. On the other hand, my mother was still looking at me disapprovingly.

I heard my bedroom door opening. I turned around and noticed Seth walking into the room.  He looked at the large suitcase and sighed. "Do you really need all of these clothes?"

"Yeah."

He rolled his eyes and I motioned for him to sit down on the suitcase. Again, he rolled his eyes in amusement and climbed on the suitcase with ease. He didn't fall backwards, like I did and the suitcase size decreased enough for me to zip it close. I jumped off the suitcase and heaved it onto the floor, then lifting it up with ease. I flicked my black hair to one side and grabbed the smallest suitcase in the room, which held all of my hair and face stuff, picked it up and walked out of the room. I descended down the marble staircase, walking into the open garage with my socks on. My mother and aunt were placing the suitcases inside the boot. I placed my suitcase on the floor and Seth, picked it up and placed it in the boot, together with the other one he was carrying.

"All set and ready to go," my mother stated proudly. I rolled my eyes and turned back round to go back upstairs. "Hazel, wait."

I turned around, eyebrows raised, waiting for what she had to say. She sighed and looked at her sister for support.

"If you're going to give me one of your talks, don't bother, I don't need it," I said, before she could say anything else.

My mother was one of those business woman which took everything too seriously and as a challenge. Her brown hair, was in it's natural wavy style, tanned skin, her brown eyes piercing into my blue ones, just like my grandmothers. My father had brown eyes aswell, together with shaved brown hair and also tanned, I had pale skin, which was absolutely the opposite from theirs but my grandfather had pale skin whilst my grandmother had very tan skin.

My mother sighed, indicating that I was right. I faked a smiled and headed out of the garage but her voice stopped me again. "You can't live with the mentality of hating a Malik, darling, what happened in the past stays in the past, now go and get your shoes and jacket, we have to leave."

I only looked at her, not knowing what to say but she said those words so many times, that I knew them by heart. I wasn't carrying the past with me, I was only learning and finding out the awful truth of past family history. But my family's past history didn't include war stories and how my grandparents found each other at the perfect timing or how they were forced to be married and eventually learned how to love each other and create cute little babies. My family's past history was intriguing and you just wanted to keep on hearing more and more about it. My family had only one enemy. And that was the Malik's.

I entered my bedroom and slipped on my biker boots over my black skinny jeans, I straightened my baby pink over sized jersey and slipped on my black jacket. I sighed and ran a hand through my straightened dark brown-black hair, I looked at the full length mirror, still stuck on the walls. I stared back into my bright blue eyes, they looked tired and exhausted but I didn't care, I'd eventually get some sort of uncomfortable sleep in my mother's car. My father had a more comfortable car but he had left a few hours earlier, so that he could go with the house movers and see that everything was perfect for when we moved.

I sighed and looked around the room one last time. I walked towards my wardrobe and opened the door, turned the lights on and stared back at my empty closet. I stepped inside and reached my hand out to touch the wooden wall of the back. I felt the engravings I used to carve with a compass or scissors. They were either words of my feelings or inspirational song lyrics or quotes. I smiled sadly and stepped out, turned off the lights and softly closed the door. So many memories to be left behind. My room felt so empty and cold without the usual mess of clothes lying on the bed or chair or the mass of papers and files on the desk and loud music playing from the CD player.

"Hazel! Come on! We have to go!" my mother yelled from downstairs.

I breathed out heavily, blinking back tears. I checked my pockets if I had my cell phone and headphones, then quickly headed out of the room, not bothering to take one last glance of my bedroom or else I'd end up making a waterfall.

I entered the open garage doors and noticed my mother hugging her sister, Seth awkwardly standing there. I smirked and walked towards him. He looked down at me and smiled, he opened his arms and I hugged him, squeezing him. Seth wasn't one to be emotional around people but I've seen him cry multiple times and he seen me cry multiple times. We used to tell everything to each other and knew every single detail about each other. We didn't have our walls when we were around each other. First we're laughing our head off at a stupid joke he said and the next second we were crying our eyes out at each other, the other comforting the other or else yelling at each other and then one of us cracks up and everything is back to normal again.

"Gonna miss you little cuz," he said when I pulled back and straightened my jersey and jacket.

"Me too, but I can catch the train and come here, whenever I like," I said, smiling. He nodded and smiled, too.

"C'mon Hazel, it's time to go," my mother said, entering the driver's seat.

"Bye Aunty," I said and gave my aunt a quick hug before entering the back seats. My aunt and Seth walked back to their car, while my mother drove the car out of the garage, clicked a button and the doors slid down. My aunt hit the horn, waving goodbye before driving off towards her house. My mother turned the car round and drove the other way, a four hour drive towards my miserable future in Bradford.
