Chapter 21 of 23

Exclusive Courses

University Life In Nigeria280 words~2 min read

Lack of flavours chases kids away.

The tertiary institutions in Nigeria do not have varieties. I remember a good friend of mine wanted to study therapy. She had to study international relations.

Why are we still with the last two centuries mentality and teaching method?

There is advancement but we are Soo backward with no additional varieties.  Schools should offer some other courses.

Must everyone study in tertiary for four year and above?

Where is provision for fashion designing, make up artistry, beauticians, cosmetologists,  interior decor, stylists mechanics(don't start with that engineering bs), colourists, florists etc?

There are vocational schools that do that but not really broad just selected vocations.

Even advance professional courses should be updated. Do people have to travel abroad to study updated courses? Let us try to save cost and make use of the revenues here.

Students should have options. They should have a choice. Courses been offered should be reasonable courses. I wonder why some departments have to borrow course/es from another faculty. Some of these courses aren't necessary.

Courses that faculties take should be reviewed because some repeat but only change the course name.  Students don't have to study up to 8 or more courses to be seen as serious.

I understand students need to read and all but update the outline when it is necessary to read more, let them. When there is no need for extra, don't add extra.

Let us try to make everything we have to be one of the best. How much more is it going to cost.

Give us the best education and watch us make you proud everywhere, anywhere with thanks. We will never forget our home.
