Chapter 427 - Unohana Retsu (II)...

[POV Reo]

I was calmly sitting in my usual spot waiting for Retsu to arrive. Today I was going to tell her everything about me… I didn't know how she was going to react after I told her about my harem.

I wanted to use my Future Sight but decided against that… if it didn't go my way then I would try to change the future and if it did go my way then I would try to direct the conversation towards how I saw it in my vision.

That won't be fair to Retsu… I didn't want to manipulate the conversation. If she decided to stay with me then I wanted the decision to be hers. So, I kept repeating the conversation in my mind… 

I knew that she had been wondering if she should tell me about her past or not since the day of our last meeting. I already know about her past from the anime but something might be different.

After a few minutes, Retsu finally arrived… she had her usual kind smile marring her face. "How are you Reo-Kun, I hope that you didn't have to wait for long" Retsu said as she came and sat down beside me.  .

"Retsu-San, would you mind if I changed the scenery?" I asked and Retsu tilted her head with a smile.

"I wouldn't mind as long as others don't notice it… I simply want to avoid unnecessary questions" Retsu answered with a smile and before she could even react we arrived in a completely new place.

This was the same place where I had brought Urahara and the others for the chat we had a few months ago… I think I should make this my permanent meeting spot… this place is too good.

"Where are we?" Retsu asked curiously as she kept looking around. I waved my hand and a couch appeared behind us… Retsu gave me a smile as she sat down.

"I don't exactly know the name of this planet… but I think this is beautiful… isn't it?" I asked and Retsu nodded her head.

Both of us sat in complete silence… After a couple of minutes, Retsu finally decided to break the silence.

"...Reo, I wanted to tell you something about myself…" Retsu said in her usual tone but I could sense that she was a nervous wreck.

"It can wait… I think you should first listen to what I have to say…" I said with a serious look on my face and Retsu slowly nodded her head… some of her nervousness faded away but she was still nervous.

"Well… you see I am not a normal human, nor I am a Soul…" I said as I stopped using my Soul Powers. Retsu's eyes grew wide in surprise when she noticed that I wasn't a Soul like she had thought.

"...So, what are you?" Retsu asked after a few moments of silence. She kept checking me out curiously… she even poked me a couple of times.

"A God…" I said and Retsu started to give me weird looks.

"No… I am not joking nor I am being egoistic… it is what I am basically a God" I said and Retsu didn't look very sure.

"...We are known as Shinigami, Shinigami translate into Death God… is it something like that?" Retsu asked as she tilted her head in confusion.

"...Let me ask you something else… Why do you think Gods are different from normal beings?" I asked and after pondering for a couple of minutes, Retsu failed to answer my question.

"It is simple… Gods have Divinity… now you might ask what Divinity is?" I asked and Retsu nodded her head.

"Then let me explain… I have the Divinity of Destruction… Destruction would increase or boost my power… I can also gain power if normal beings start praying to me… not that I need any of that" I said and Retsu seemed to contemplate my words.

"I understand what you are trying to say and I somewhat understand what Divinity is… but why won't you need any more power?" Retsu asked as she started to fiddle with her tea flask.

I waved my hand and a table appeared in front of the couch. Retsu gave me a grateful smile as she placed two teacups and started to pour tea for us. I accepted the teacup with a smile as I decided to answer her question.

"As of now I am the strongest God in this whole Omniverse… and I wouldn't get much of a boost from prayers…" I said with a smile and Retsu frowned after hearing my answer.

"Omniverse?" Retsu asked with a question mark on top of her head. I was kind of amused after seeing her expression.

So, after that, I explained about Universes, Multiverses and finally the Omniverse. I only gave her the basic details as she didn't need to know everything. I didn't want to overload her brain.

"...I didn't know that we were so insignificant… I have always wondered about the stars but I never knew that they held so many secrets…" Retsu said with a longing look on her face.

"I guess I kind of understand…" I said with a smile as I placed the empty cup of tea on the table.

"...So, you are God of this Omniverse… that's a pretty big burden… so, your job is destroying worlds?" Retsu questioned and I simply shrugged.

"It's not much of a duty… I could destroy worlds with a snap of fingers from anywhere in the Omniverse… and yes, it is a job… too much Creation is very bad… there must be a balance" I said in a dismissive tone and once again Retsu started to contemplate my words.

"What do you think about evil people?" Retsu asked me in a neutral tone. I knew why she was asking that…

"I don't have a personal opinion… sometimes evil is a matter of personal opinion. Everyone is a bad guy in someone's story" I said with a shrug… Retsu nodded her head after hearing my answer but she didn't seem to be satisfied by the answer.

"I have a sister… She is known as the Origin of Evil, she is the evil Goddess of this Omniverse and her existence is necessary for the balance… too much good can be very dangerous… that is why evil people must exist" I said with a serious look on my face.

Retsu pondered my words but I decided to continue. "As for my personal opinion… as long as they aren't trying to harm my family then I am completely fine with them…" I said and Retsu finally seemed to be satisfied with my answer.

"There is something else I needed to tell you…" I said as Retsu perked up after hearing my words.

"In the last few months the two of us have grown closer… so before anything more could develop between us, I wanted to tell you that I already have 10 lovers" I finished and the smile on Retsu's face disappeared.

Her bright and cheerful eyes turned gloomy and menacing… "Why are you telling me this?" After a few moments of silence, Retsu asked me… her features were already back to normal but the kind and gentle smile on her face was still missing.

"I didn't want to lead you on… I wanted you to have the full picture before anything else" I said and Retsu turned her face away as she stared into the Endless space.

"...To be honest, I don't know how to react to that… I shouldn't be angry as there is nothing between us but I am kind of disappointed" Retsu said and I nodded my head.

"You brought me food every day you came to meet me… no one has done that for me…" Retsu said as she stared into my eyes.

"...I won't pretend that I know anything about love… I… I have some secrets too… I am not what I seem to be…" Retsu said in an unsure tone.

"You don't need to force yourself… you don't need to tell me if you don't want to" I said gently.

"No… what I meant to say is that I have no how idea how a relationship works and polygamy is pretty common in the Soul Society… noble houses keep doing that all the time" Retsu said as she kept staring at her hands.

"I have never thought that there would be someone who would like me… I have butchered people with these hands… men, women, children, no one was spared…" Retsu said as she once again looked into my eyes.

"...I have no idea what to think about a polygamous relationship… I need some time to give you an answer… I mean if you still want me" Retsu finished and her usual smile returned to her face.

For a few moments, I remained completely silent. "You don't need to worry about that… I still want you and being evil isn't bad… even if you want to return to your old ways I won't have a problem with that" I said and Retsu's eyes grew wide in surprise but she still nodded her head.

"I am pretty sure that you will get along with Hela…" I said with a grin. I knew that she didn't say yes but there was a huge chance that she would agree.

"Hela? Is she one of your lovers?" Retsu asked curiously and I nodded my head.

"She is the Goddess of War and Death and it is pretty normal for her to kill off billions just for fun" I said and Retsu stared at me with wide eyes. Even though she didn't say anything, I noticed a jealous gleam in her eyes.

From my Soul Powers, I knew that she was pretty jealous… "How about we continue our date and leave these matters for a later date?" I asked and once again Retsu smiled kindly but she was still somewhat jealous.

"I would love that…" Retsu said in her usual kind and gentle tone. A smile appeared on my face after hearing her words and I started to bring out food from my personal space…
