When I first met you,

I honestly didn't know you were

gonna be this important to me.

Kathy's POV

"Do I look like I'm trying too hard? He said casual because there'll be lots of walking." I say to Cece.

"Casual means jeans. Everyone knows that." She answers.

"What if he wants me to wear a dress? I should definitely change." I murmur the last part.

"You're hot either way. He already knows that." She says.

"But what if whatever we're doing is better with jeans than a dress?" I ask.

"Then don't wear a dress. And it's a little windy today. What if you end up flashing someone?" Cece says.

"Okay, I'm sticking with the jeans. If there's another date, then I'll wear a dress." I say to myself. Do you think he'll want another date after this? I hope so.

I look at myself one more time and sigh. I slip on my shoes and exit my room.

Outfit:

I spot Cece grinning on my couch and give her a weird look. "Who are you texting?" I ask.

"What? No one!" Cece says automatically.

"Right..." I say, not believing her. She waves the subject off and admires my outfit.

"I think that's date worthy. Shows off your ass." She says with a shrug. "Easy access." She winks.

I give her a mortified look and say, "Now I'm definitely changing." Anthony better be worth all these outfit changes. I just want to impress him.

I'm sure he would like you even if you just wore a sweatshirt and leggings. Ya, but I wear that all the time. Exactly. And he still ended up asking you out.

Before I could make it back to my room, I heard someone knock. "Too late bitch." Cece says, smirking.

I freeze, and my eyes widen. Fuck. I'm not ready! She walks up to me and grabs my shoulders. "You look gorgeous. Now go greet your man." She says, shoving me towards the door.

I check to make sure it's Anthony and take a deep breath. I unlock the door, and Anthony's face lights up. Awww, his dimples.

We not so subtly check each other out, and I decide my outfit is fine for our first date. "You look beautiful, Sunshine." He says, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"And you look handsome, but I'm sure you knew that already." I tease.

"I did know that." He says, flexing his biceps. I laugh, and he softly smiles. "But it's nice to hear it from you." He says quietly.

He leans down and brushes his lips against mine. I smile against his lips and cup his cheek. We separate a few seconds later, but Anthony keeps an arm around my waist.

"You ready?" He asks.

I nod and say, "Bye, Cece."

Before I closed the door, we heard her shout, "Have fun! And kids, remember to use protection!" I roll my eyes, and Anthony chuckles.

"Are we going to the carnival? When did that get there?" I ask, staring out the window.

"I might have made a few calls..." Anthony says, parking.

"Really?" I ask, surprised.

He laughs and says, "No, they come during the spring and stay until the fall. But this is only their second time being in this city."

Once we get our tickets, Anthony asks, "What should we do first?"

I look around and see a booth with Adventure Time stuffed animals. I grab his hand and drag him to the booth.

"How about this game? I want to win them." I say, pointing to the stuffed animals. Aren't you a little too old for stuffed animals? Fuck off. You're never too old to own them.

The person working the booth explains the rules and hands us 10 darts. You guys better pop all 10 balloons, or you won't win both. I could also buy more tickets but okay.

Anthony and I split it and started throwing the darts. Knowing I have good aim, I pop all 5. The worker hands me the Jake stuffed animal, and I watch Anthony concentrate.

He glances at me and says, "I'm feeling pressured right now. Too many beautiful girls are looking at me."

Confused, I glance at the worker and see she's talking to another worker. Then I look around and see no one is even paying attention to us.

When I realized what he meant, I punched his arm. He laughs and says, "That was my good arm! Do you still want Finn?"

"Yes, dummy," I say, laughing.

"How about a kiss for good luck, Sunshine?" Anthony asks, leaning towards me.

I grin and peck his cheek. He smirks and says, "I don't need luck. I just wanted a kiss." He immediately throws the darts and pops five balloons.

I gasp and hug him. "Now Jake has his buddy," Anthony says, taking the stuffed animal from the worker.

We start exiting the booth when my shoe gets caught on a cord. I almost fall forward, but Anthony grabs my waist. "I think you just fell for me." He says, winking.

I feel my face heat up and roll my eyes. "W-whatever," I mumble. Did you just fucking stutter? What the fuck is wrong with you? I got nervous for some reason.

He keeps his arm around my waist while we walk, so I say, "Your turn to choose,"

He stops walking and just stares at me. I raise an eyebrow and ask, "Is there something on my face?"

He cups my cheek and plants his lips on mine. I shyly press my body against his and grin. I wish I could stay in his arms forever.

"What was that for?" I ask once we separate.

"Nothing. You just make me really happy." He says with a sincere smile.

I kiss his jaw and feel my heart flutter. I sound like a total loser right now. It's okay. I'll allow it.

"You make me really happy, too," I say softly.

"Do you want to get funnel cake?" He asks.

"Sure," I say, following him.

After waiting in line and purchasing a funnel cake, we sit on a bench. "Do you want to go on the Ferris wheel after we finish eating?" He asks. "Wait, are you afraid of heights? Damn, I should know this..." He murmurs the last part to himself.

"Um, I'm not deathly afraid. But rollercoasters make me nauseous." I say.

I realize there are a bunch of rollercoasters and feel bad. "Oh no. Did you want to go on a ton of rollercoasters? Now I feel bad that-"

He kisses me to shut me up, and I relax. "First of all, don't feel bad. I also don't like rollercoasters. The drops and turns always make me want to throw up. So I'm glad we're on the same page on that."

"If you don't like crazy drops and turns, there are still plenty of booths and rides not a thousand feet high." He says.

I smile and say, "I can handle the Ferris wheel."

"Are you sure?" He asks with uncertainty. "I don't want to force you to do something you don't want to do." He says seriously. He actually cares. Where has he been all your life? Holy shit, I'm in love again. Calm down, geez.

"No, I want to do it," I say, determined. We get up and start walking toward the line. "It's not fast, right?" I ask.

"Don't worry. I've been on one, and I didn't vomit when I got off." He says.

When it's our turn, they strap us in. I feel my heart pound louder in my chest and grab Anthony's hand.

He gently squeezes my hand and says, "Don't worry, Sunshine, I'm right beside you."

The seat starts to rock back and forth, so I squeeze Anthony's hand. I look down and see the view. "The view is breathtaking," I murmur, slightly relaxing.

"Not as breathtaking as you." He says, only looking at me.

I laugh and brush my lips against his. He uses his other hand to cup my cheek, and I smile against his lips.

When we reach the top, Anthony says, "I have a serious question for you, Sunshine."

I turn to face him and say, "I have a serious answer."

He shifts and grabs something from his pocket. "Kathy, will you be my girlfriend? I know this is just our first date, but-"

I squeal and cut him off. "Yes! Of course, I will."

His face breaks into a smile, and he asks, "Really?"

I vigorously nod and pepper him with kisses. The Ferris wheel is starting to move down, and he scratches his neck.

"I uh got you this thing... But if you don't like it, obviously, we can exchange it for something else." He explains.

He shows me a bracelet, and I gasp. "I love it!" I exclaim. Awww, you're his sunshine!

He slips it on me and grins. When we get to the bottom, we get off and continue walking around.

"Go-Karts?" I ask.

He smirks and says, "You're going down."

*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*

We return to my apartment past midnight, and I unlock my door. "I had a really fun night," I say.

"Me too. I have a girlfriend now." He says, grinning.

"I feel sorry for that poor girl..." I say with a sigh.

We both laugh, and he wraps his arms around my waist. "I'll see you at school?" He asks.

"For sure," I say, tippy-toeing.

He leans done and softly kisses me. I run my hand through his hair, and he pulls me closer. Feeling safe in his arms, I move down to his neck and leave him a parting gift.

I pull away, and he rests his forehead against mine. "I'm gonna go now." He says, moving to place a kiss on my forehead.

"See you on Monday," I say, stepping into my apartment.

Yay! They're finally together! 💕
