65 Giselleâs POV Everybody had just left after the Pack Doctor pushed everyone away so I could have my full rest Once everyone was gone, silence filled the room once again, and my deafening thoughts started to get the best of me again.
A bitter laugh escaped my lips as I stared at my pregnant belly. âYou are punishing me for harming you,â I muttered bitterly as I drew my hand in circles on top of my belly.
I tried to harm her, and right afterward, she gave me this surprise.
I flinched when someone just barged into my room and flew. my door open. I pushed myself up to a sitting position as I waited to see who that was.
My body tensed up when I saw Damien appear in the corner of my room.
âDamien?â My brows furrowed when I saw him appear at the corner of my room. âWhat are you doing here?â I questioned him as I scooted far from him.
âWe need to talk,â Damien answered tersely as he locked the door behind him and made his way towards me.
âThis is dangerous!â I hissed at him. âDo they even know that you are here?â
âEveryone has gone to their beds. No one would think Iâm here,â Damien snapped back.
âWhat do you want?â I questioned firmly. Just when I thought I 415 FORIUS could , room child, Giselle leave .
told you already I donât want my child to without knowing that Iâm his father. I wonât let any man steal that role from me,â Damien spoke furiously.
I scoffed and averted my gaze from him. âFine, you can have your child,â I responded.
âWhat?â Damienâs brows furrowed in surprise. He wasnât expecting that I would give up easily.
âI said you can have your child.â I looked into his eyes as repeated my words to him with a straight face. âIsnât that what -you want?â
Damien paused as he locked gazes with me. His eyes narrowed slightly as if he were trying to read through my words. âThatâs it? You are giving up your son that easily?â He questioned me like I was a bad mother.
I know, in his eyes, Iâm a bad mother. He saw how I harmed my baby while she was still in my womb. I also just used our child as a leverage that I can use to threaten him. All of this happened just within the day.
Itâs so perplexing how so many things could happen in just one day.
âIâm not having a son, Drystan. Iâm having a daughter,â I blurted out without looking at him.
Damien visibly flinched back at my words. âWâWhat?â His brows knotted together, âBut the doctors just said-â
âOf course, I told him to lie, Damien. If they found out that Iâm having a daughter, they would abandon me just like youâve done Damien couldnât speak. He just froze and stared at me with guilt in his heart.
Do you understand, Damien? Do you now know how much this meant to me? You can still have your daughter if you want. I can no longer keep her with me anymore,â I muttered with a straight face while my heart tore apart inside of me.
âIs that how insignificant your daughter is to you? You are doing all this just so what? Just so you could be a Packâs Luna? I canât believe youâd rather give up your own child than give up your ambition.â Damien shot back in anger.
âWhat is it to you, Damien? If you hadnât given me false promises, if you hadnât abandoned me, none of this would happen. We would have been one big happy family, and no one gets to be abandoned!â I glared at him with hatred in my eyes.
Damien scoffs, and then he slowly nods his head as he understands the situation. âI see, thatâs all that you care about Fine, Iâll take the child no matter what, and I donât care why.â
With that, Damien left the room, and once he was gone, my firm resolve suddenly shattered. The tears that Iâd been trying to hold back finally welled my eyes.
âHâHow could you do this to me?â My voice croaked as I tried to force my tears back. âDonât you know what you have done?â I whispered as I stared down at my baby bump.
âBecause of this, I couldnât be with you anymore. Because of what you have done, I had to give you up.â Tears strolled down my cheek as I shut my eyes in heartache.
I know I shouldnât be placing all the blame on my child. The child is innocent; she hasnât even been born yet. It was I who decided to give her up just because of her gender.
As a mother, I never wanted to give up my child. It wasnât a part of my plan to give my child away. My plan was to raise my own child and make Killian think that my child is his, too.
However I had no choice. I have gone this far. I can choose not to give up when Iâm almost there. Sometimes, people have to make sacrifices for their dreams, and Iâm willing to make one:
Selene Souchon Author Now that Giselle plans to give away her and have son, it would easier for Killian to guess that whatever child Giselle will present to him is not his.
