Chapter 796 Itâs My Honor
That night, Neera got on the car, and called Jean on her phone.
âHave you finished work yet? What time are you coming home?â
Jeanâs gentle voice traveled through the speakers right as the call went through.
Neeraâs heart melted as she curled her lips into a smile. âYeah, Iâm done with work. But Iâm not coming home for dinner tonight.â
Jean paused for a moment and asked: âIs there a social event or something?â
âYeah, sort of. Iâm going to have dinner with someone tonight. You guys can have dinner first, you
donât have to wait for me.â
Jean responded with an âokayâ, and continued asking: âWho are you meeting? Is it a friend?â
âTheyâre not my friend, or should I say client. Theyâre Uncle Chadâs.â she admitted honestly.
Jean was relieved with her explanation. He told her to come home early and put down the call.
Half an hour later, Neera arrived at the Grand Palace International Hotel.
The hotel was also quite renowned in Essley, with magnificent decor and grandeur.
The people who could enter and exit the hotel must be of the uppermost echelons of society.
Just as Neera got out of the car, a ser vant came to greet her.
She revealed her identity and took out the invitation. The ser vant then immediately led the way
with a bright smile
Zephyr followed suit as well.
When they got to the rooftop restaurant, the ser vant brought them to the Premium Room.
âWeâre here, Ms. Garcia, feel free to enter.â
Neera nodded her head and said her thanks. She then glanced at Zephyr.
Zephyrâs expression was as stoic as always, and assumed the role of door guard without asking.
âGo in, Ms. Garcia. Iâll keep watch outside. You can always call me if you need anything.â
Neera nodded her head. She knocked on the door politely and went in.
She then saw a mixed-race man sat in a poised matter in the middle of the room.
The man had a wide yet delicate face, his features were striking and profound. He had a beautifully sculpted face, just like a modelâs. Handsome and full of machismo.
His aura was outstanding, and had a high-ranking attitude, yet he looked relaxed and elegant. He was obviously a nobleman.
Beside him, there was another young man in a suit. He was wearing a pair of black-rimmed glasses.
He had the demeanor of an assistant.
After Neera sized them up, she politely greeted them.
âHello, Iâm Neera Garcia, Iâm here upon invitation.â
After she introduced herself, she looked at the mixed-race man and said: âYou must be Satan,
Uncle Chadâs friend?â
The man smiled, and stood up courteously. âYes, thatâs me. My actual name is Avery Cox. Itâs nice
to meet you, Ms. Garcia.â
She shook hands with him. âItâs nice to meet you too, Mr. Cox.â
Avery had also sized her up as soon as she walked in. Now that he held her hand, his eyebrows
slightly raised in amusement.
The woman in front of him was beautiful and charismatic. Streets say that she was quite the
capable lady too.
It seems that Chadâs taste was quite remarkable.
It wasnât a bad idea at all to have her be his successor.
As soon as their hands touched each otherâs, he smiled and said: âIâve taken the liberty to invite you
to dinner before weâve even acquainted with each other, I hope you donât find it too sudden or
rude.â
Neera shrugged it off cordially. âIâm just curious as to why youâve invited me tonight. Since Uncle
Chad isnât here either.â
Avery nodded casually.
âI know that Uncle Chad had already gone on a retreat with his lover already.â
Neera was a little shocked to find that he also referred to Chad as âuncleâ as well.
âOh, youâre not his client then?â She hesitated before asking.
Avery gestured her to have a seat, and smiled. âYes, the Cox family and the Gordon family have
been friends for decades. I happened to be here on some matters, and met up with Uncle Chad. He
mentioned about you, so I thought of taking the opportunity to meet you.â He said as he poured her a cup of tea.
âCoincidentally, I heard that you were looking for someone the past few days, so I did you a bit of a
favor.â
Before Neera could react, Avery passed his phone to her.
She was a bit confused at her, but then she saw the photo on the screen.
It was a photo of Thora!
Neera was puzzled. She stared into the screen attentively, then looked up at Avery/
âYou found her?â
Avery confirmed as he took back his phone.
âYes. However, sheâs still unconscious. So itâs inconvenient to bring her here. But Iâve already gotten
someone to bring her to a hospital.â
Neera nodded.
Even though she didnât know how he managed to locate Thora, nor did she know why he would do
her such a favor, she still wanted to express her gratitude.
âYouâve done me a huge favor, Mr. Cox. I canât thank you enough.â
Avery waved his hand. âItâs nothing, so you donât have to be so polite, Ms. Garcia. Itâs my honor
getting to help you.â
Since he had already helped her as soon as they met, Neera willingly accompanied him for dinnerâ¦
