Chapter 746 Sent Him To Hell Jean was dressed in loungewear and had a leisurely breakfast when they got there.
He didnât bat an eye when a large group of people unexpectedly showed up at his house and went straight to the dining room.
As if nothing had happened, he greeted them casually, âGood day, everyone. Take a seat. Have you had your breakfast yet? If you havenât already, Iâll have it prepared.â
Everyone frowned at his reaction. Nobody sat.
âWe wonât eat,â one of the elders took the initiative to ask. âYou know the exact reason why we are here.â
âWhy is that?â Jean inquired, slightly raising his voice.
His complexion turned gloomy as he patiently talked with Jean.
âYou donât have to play dumb with us. What you did last night is no secret to us. Your uncle had indeed done somethin inappropriate, but youâd punished him and kicked him out of the board of directors. Isnât that enough?â
Right after he began to persuade Jean, other relatives joined in.
âThatâs right; we should be merciful when we can. Heâs still family, your blood.â
âI know youâre mad, but a heavier punishment should suffice. Why embarrass our family by turning him over to the cops? What will people think of people think of you if word if word gets out?â
âYou have to safeguard your reputation. You must not allow others to label you as ruthless and heartless.â
Jean listened quietly and didnât say anything.
He drank the last of his milk before saying, leâs the heartless one, not me.â
Puzzled, everyone looked at each other.
Frederic had a sneaky suspicion. He asked, âWhat do you mean? Did Clarenceâ¦â
Jean cast a glance at his father.
His expression was icy as he continued, âI gave him a chance, but he didnât want to take it, and he couldnât blame me for being heartless. When I was sick, he hired someone to kill me; did any of you know about this?â
This revelation exploded like a bomb, stunning everyone.
âIsâ¦is this true? How could Clarence do something like that?â
Frederic and Wrenn were both taken aback.
âAre you certain Clarence carried out that assassination attempt?â
Jean shot back coldly, âWhen have I ever lied? Is there a need?â
âItâs true,â Ian said, taking a step forward.
âI looked into it myself. We have gathered all the evidence. Mr. Clarence brought in foreign professional mercenaries. My boss might not be alive if I hadnât strengthened up security at the lab that night.â
Everyone was stunned, with cold chills running down their spines.
The elders wore a solemn expression.
Amid the silence, Jean slowly clarified his stance, âI havenât sent him to his death because I consider us family. Or would you prefer I expedite that process for him? If thatâs the case, Iâd be happy to oblige.â
Nobody could think of anything to say.
âDo any of you want to plead on his behalf?â Jean asked again.
The room was silent, with everyoneâs faces flushed with embarrassment and awkwardness. Even the elders were deafeningly quiet.
Clarence had brought this on himself, and everyone understood. Jeanâs decision was just.
Jean went straight to his office after everyone else had left.
Given the weight of the evidence against him, Clarence had been arrested and was currently awaiting his sentence.
Jean showed no mercy to Jonas, who had followed his fatherâs bad example and caused a lot of trouble. He informed his staff via email that he had demoted Jonas from the board of directors and relocated him to Ceflium. This act was the equivalent of exiling him to the frontier.
Jeanâs promptness surprised the Beauvort Group employees.
Everyone was on their toes. Nobody dared to cause any trouble.
The research facility resumed normal operations after the assassination attempt had been thoroughly investigated and dealt with.
Jean had ordered that damaged equipment be replaced and that the center be redecorated.
Following his completion of work for the day, Jean promptly showed up for his evening appointment.
Osbert was expecting him.
When he saw Jean, he smiled and said, âGreat, youâre here. Lie down, and weâll begin treatment.â
Jean nodded and lay on the bed.
He wasnât one to say much and was more silent than usual, as he had a lot on his mind.
Osbert had picked up on his mood. He kept his attention on his treatment without saying anything.
After what seemed like an eternity, Jean finally said, âCan you tell me about Neeraâs situation when she was abroad?â
