Chapter 737 My Turn To Comfort You The research center was quickly restored to its previous peaceful state.
When Osbert and Luigi realized the threat had passed, they dashed to the ward to check on Jean.
âAre you alright?â Osbert inquired, concerned.
âIâm fine,â Jean said as he shook his head. âIâm relieved that none of you were injured.â
Fearfully, Osbert patted his chest.
âIt scared the hell out of me,â he declared. âI had just started conducting an experiment when I heard the noise. I was curious as to what was going on, and I had no idea someone had broken in!â
Luigi scowled and sighed deeply.
âWho are these people?â he wondered. âWhy did they target our research facility? Are they attempting to steal our research results?â
They had been in similar situations while they were abroad.
He discarded that thought after pondering it for a while.
âNo, they looked like professional hitmen, not people who would steal research,â he reasoned. âThey appeared to be assassins.â
Ian looked surprised. He expected these two to be terrified.
Based on how they analyzed the situation and expressed their thoughts, It appeared that the two were involved in some complicated business.
Jean didnât want to frighten them any further. He didnât say anything.
He simply dismissed it, saying, âNothing is certain at this point. Weâll have to look into it.â
Then he changed the subject and said, pleadingly, âPlease donât tell Neera about this.â
She would be worry sick if she found out. I didnât want to add to her stress by bothering her.
Both Luigi and Osbert instantly agreed with him; they had similar ideas.
Jean continued, âAside from that, I believe you should close the research center for a few days. You can return to work once we have uncovered something from the investigation.
âWe can arrange for Peterâs son to be treated at the Beauvort Groupâs hospital. Iâd appreciate it if you two could monitor and help with his treatment there.â
âUnderstood,â Osbert said, acknowledging. âLetâs do it. Neera has placed the child in my care, so it is my responsibility to look after him.
Luigi was on board with the plan.
As a result, this issue was resolved.
The next morning, Jean left the research center and went home.
The incident had reached his parentsâ ears. When Jean got home, they immediately came over, clearly distraught over the news.
âJean, did you get hurt last night? Let me take a look!â Wrenn exclaimed.
Hearing the news made her anxious, and upon first meeting her son, she checked Jean over thoroughly.
âIâm fine,â he assured Wrenn calmly. âThere were no injuries.â
After confirming Jeanâs safety, Frederic exhaled a sigh of relief, but he still appeared troubled.
This man had weathered many storms in his life. He went right to the heart of the matter, wondering, âWhat happened? Who were those individuals? Were you the target? Who sent them?â
Jean met his gaze with a calm expression and replied, âNot sure. Donât worry, Iâll take care of it.â
Frederic exhaled deeply after a brief moment of silence.
âOK, you deal with this. Donât get too caught up in this; you need to take care of yourself. Your health comes first. Weâll take care of the business. Iâll keep an eye on things with your brother.â
Jean agreed with a nod.
Jean agreed with a nod.
After they left, Ian rushed into the room and reported, âSir, I have figured it out! Those men are mercenaries from another country. Even though I canât be sure of their affiliations, Iâd say these guys are C Class mercenaries. Theyâre not from the Mercenaries Guild, but rather from some minor mercenary groups that specialize in illegal activities!â
Jeanâs eyes narrowed into a line, emitting a dangerous aura from the depths of his eyes. He immediately thought of someone and pointed out, âLook into Clarence.â
Clarence was the only person who had the audacity and deepâseated hatred for him recently.
âYes,â Ian nodded, âIâve already sent someone to investigate.â
Far away in Essley, Neera was completely unaware of what was going on.
She had been overburdened with work since taking over the headquarters.
Adrianaâs office. surgery was scheduled for today. She rushed to the hospital after finishing her work at the Even though she did not perform the surgery herself, she personally supervised the operating room to be by Adrianaâs side during this trying period.
She comforted Adriana before the anesthetic was given by holding her hand and saying, âItâll be over soon. Consider it like taking a nap. Everything will be fine when you wake up.
Because of Neeraâs soothing presence, Adriana was able to relax and teased with a smile, âYouâre comforting me as if Iâm a child.â
âYou used to comfort me when I was younger,â Neera said as she stroked her hair. Itâs now my turn to console you. Nothing is wrong with that.â
