Chapter 723 Heâs Losing His Wife
The atmosphere in the guest room was tense and eerily silent.
Neera sat upright. Her expression remained cold and distant.

Across from her, the pair looked visibly shaken and taken aback. They adopted a blank expression.
Though they had once wished to force the two apart. However, when she suddenly brought it up at
this critical time, the couple didnât feel relieved. On the contrary, they were panic-stricken.
Wrenn was unable to sit still. Panickedly, she leaned forward and asked, âWhy?â
Neera found the situation amusing.
âWhy?â she asked again.
âIsnât it obvious? Do you have any idea how we get married? Roxanne was meant to marry into your
family. Iâm a substitute. This was orchestrated by the Garcias, they forced me to marry into your family.
Jean, on the other hand, married out of obligation. Given these circumstances, donât you
think our marriage was ill-founded?â
Wrennâs anxiety grew as Neeraâs words sank in. She objected, âButâ¦â
Neera completely ignored her. She was not interested in listening any further and made her
position clear.
âYour family and others have bothered me, as they have Jean. Weâre both shackled by this marriage. I favor simplicity in everything, including relationships. I donât want to continue because I dislike complicated situations. Isnât this what youâve always wanted? Everyone now gets what they want.â
What we wantâ¦
The pair glanced at each other, but their gazes were devoid of any happiness.
Neera couldnât care less about their feelings. She wanted to stand up and leave, but she recalled
something.
She added a few words, âLet me clarify once more. Iâm not at all interested in your fortune. Nothing about your familyâs wealth, status, or reputation is important to me. I donât need it and I donât want it.
âMy kids are the same. You donât have to worry about them claiming your familyâs wealth. We wonât touch, desire, or give a single penny of yours.â
Neera felt she had said all she needed to after laying out the facts.
She rose gracefully, and proclaimed, âIâve made my position clear. Do as you wish.â
Despite Neeraâs repeated assurances, they continued to refuse to believe her in the past.
At this point, they finally realized she meant every word.
Wrenn recognized how ridiculous she looked. Her face went from pale to red.
She couldnât care less about her dignity. Overwhelmed with anxiety, she got up out of her chair and
quickly blurted out, âYou wonât stop treating my son, will you?â
Neera sneered coldly. Her eyes were shrouded in a layer of frost.
âDonât think so lowly of me. My feelings for him have always been genuine. Iâm not like you at all. My only wish is for him to get well, and Iâm prepared to do whatever it takes to see that he does.â
Without further delay, she quickly walked out of the room.
Wrenn stood rooted. Her complexion turned white as a sheet, full of misery.
Frederic was at a loss for words. He had a complicated expression and sighed deeply.
After leaving the room, Neera was in a bad mood.
Dispiritedly, she went to the treatment room.
Jean was still in a coma. His breathing was faint, but the sickly paleness was evident on his face.
Seeing this, Neeraâs heart ached.
âIâm sorry. I unilaterally annulled our marriage without your consent. I broke our pact.â
She spoke softly, but the only response she received was the roomâs silence.
Jeanâs condition gradually stabilized over the next two days. His body showed signs of recovery, and the frequency of his episodes decreased.
Neera stopped avoiding his parents. Her demeanor was cold, to say the least, but professional.
In the meantime, Ian was overcome by an eruption of conflicting feelings. He was worried he was
going to bald from stress.
Mr. Beauvort, when are you going to wake up? Your wife will leave you if you remain in a coma any
longer.
Later that day, Neera went back to her house.
When the children saw her, they were overjoyed. They hastened to her side and showered her with
care.
âMommy, why are you home? Did Uncle Jean wake up? Is he getting better?â
Neera shook her head gently and touched their faces softly. She said, âNot yet, but heâs recovering.
Maybe heâll wake up in a couple of days.â
âOh!â
The triplets were a bit disappointed, but their focus subsequently shifted to her.
âHave you eaten yet, Mommy? Youâve put in a lot of effort recently, and it shows. Why donât we accompany you to eat something before you go to bed? Iâll give you a shoulder massage!â
âAnd Iâll massage your legs!â
The calmest of the three was Harvey. The boy gently took her hand and inquired, âMommy, do you
have to return to the research center tonight?â
Neera shook her head and said, âI donât think so. I want to spend the night at home with you and
Iâm exhausted.â
The children were overjoyed and clung to her like glue, constantly following her around.
