Chapter 680 We Canât Fight Jean Since Aunt Seren had come to me, Iâm afraid that Uncle Clarence had gone to Karl. I had to inform Jean about this, Joseph thought.
âAlthough Uncle Clarence didnât visit me, Iâm sure that he had other plans.â
Jean wasnât surprised. âOkay, Iâll watch out. Thank you, Joseph.â
Joseph smiled, âThereâs no need to be polite around me. Weâre brothers. The family assembly this time must have been tough on you.â
âHmm.â Jean hung up the phone.
lan walked in just in time, âSir, Mr. Clarence had indeed visited Mr. Karl.â
âDonât bother about it,â Jean said. Itâs no use to go to Karl. Karl is useless like everyone else.
âThereâs quite a lot to prepare for the shareholders meeting tomorrow. Letâs deal with it first.â Jean wanted to focus on the matter at hand first.
lan nodded and went out to finish his task.
Meanwhile, Clarence was drinking tea at Karlâs place.
He was much calmer than Seren. He didnât talk about the main reason for visiting.
It was Karl who was impatient. âUncle Clarence, what do you want? Shouldnât you avoid doing anything that may arouse suspicion during this critical period?â
Clarence finished his tea and smiled, âKarl, if you wanted to avoid suspicion, you wouldnât have let me in.â
Karl was not amused. âI let you in because I respected you, Uncle Clarence.â
Clarence looked up at him with a meaningful smile. âYouâre smart. You should know why Iâm here.â
Karl pretended to be confused but he gave up when he met Clarenceâs gaze.
His eyes glimmered slyly. âOf course, but we canât stop Jean from doing what he wants. Youâve wasted your time by coming here.â
âI know what Iâm doing. Itâs indeed nothing you can do to stop him, but you can plead for me.â
Karl laughed as if it was a joke.
âWho should I go to? My dad or my stepmother? You have seen it today, they are definitely on Jeanâs side. Even the uncles with the most power are not helping you. What could I do? Uncle Clarence, instead of wasting time on me, you should think about filling the 8 billion dollar deficit. Jean will never let go of you.â
âEverything depends on you, Karl. Arenât you upset about being oppressed by Jean all these years?
Why donât you fight for yourself in this chaotic situation now?â
Clarence saw a slight change in Karlâs expression. âDonât miss out on such a good opportunity,â he added.
âUncle Clarence, you donât have to provoke me. You should worry about yourself,â Karl said seriously Clarence didnât give up. âProvoking? Do you have a chance to get ahead of Jean if Jean stays in power? Youâre the elder brother but youâre always oppressed by him. Donât you want more power? Just give up if youâre not that ambitious. You canât fight Jean.â
He got up and walked away.
âWhat do you want me to do?â Karl said when Clarence was almost at the door.
