Chapter 573 Not Your Place To Speak
lan looked at Jean instinctively when he heard this.
Ms. Garciaâs phone is not in service now
Jean, caught between a rock and a hard place, stood up for Neera once more.
âMom, this is between Neera and me. I can handle it, and I trust my judgment. Neera has my full trust! I know exactly who she is. If this photo is genuine, it must have a reason. Nobody has the right to slander her until things have cleared up.â
Wrenn was enraged, and the veins in her forehead were throbbing.
âIâm your mother, but I donât have any say in the matter now, do I? Youâre going to stand up to me for the sake of a woman with such a bad reputation? Do you even care about me anymore?â
Jean kept his gaze fixed on her, remaining unwavering.
âYou wouldnât be here today if I didnât care about you. Iâve warned you several times not to look for trouble with Neera or make malicious assumptions about her.
âI understand if you have reservations about accepting her, and I will not force you to do so. Nobody, including you, can slander or attack her without concrete evidence!â
Jean rarely spoke so many words at once. He did, however, make an exception to protect Neera.
Wrenn was taken aback.
Kyra was caught off guard as well.
This was neither the reaction she expected nor the scene she desired to see.
However, she reacted quickly and chose the best response to her advantage.
âCalm down, Aunt Wrenn. As I said earlier, this could be a misunderstanding. We canât draw any conclusions from a single photograph. You and Jean are both in poor health. Itâs not worth jeopardizing your relationship because of this.â
Despite this, she suspected that, despite Jeanâs casual demeanor, he did not fully trust Neera,
The picture would undoubtedly become a thorn in his side. No man could tolerate his wifeâs ambiguous relationship with another man. Let alone a man of Jeanâs stature and pride.
She couldnât help but feel proud of herself when she thought about this.
lan sneered internally as he watched the scene from the sidelines.
Ms. Markâs intentions are written all over her face! If she truly had good intentions, she would not have brought this up in the open. She caused the uproar and is now attempting to play the good guy. What a scheming b*tch!
Jean had obviously seen through this as well.
He wasnât buying any of Kyraâs acts. His expression became even colder.
âMs. Marks, you mentioned that you have a busy schedule and are in the middle of filming a show, but it appears that you have plenty of time to meddle in other peopleâs affairs.â
His words were harsh.
Kyraâs mouth twitched, and her expression froze.
âI know youâre upset. You have every right to blame me. Itâs my fault; I was afraid youâd be duped and overstepped.â
âIf you knew you overstepped, you shouldnât have said that out loud,â the
Man said coldly.
âRegardless, Neera and I are husband and wife. We can handle our issues. Itâs not your place to intervene!â
Every word from him felt like a razor-sharp dagger piercing
As heart.
Kyra forced a smile and apologized, âSorry for overstepping.â
She thought his speech was harsh, but Jean was not done yet.
His demeanor was icy, and he didnât hold back.
âYouâd overstepped more than once. If you have any problems in the future, please come straight to me. Donât talk behind my back, especially to my mother.â
Kyraâs complexion turned ghastly pale.
He said such things to me for the sake of that sl*t.
Vera is clearly in the wrong!
She clenched her teeth, barely keeping her dignity, anded silent.
Wrenn, on the other hand, couldnât take it anymore.
âYouâve gone too far! Kyra cares about you, which is why she did this. Youâve been blinded by that woman. Do you believe her words over Kyraâs? Clearly, Kyra is the one who genuinely cares about you.â
Jean replied coldly, âI donât need it.â
âJean is injured,â Kyra said, refusing to stay any longer. âWe should let him get some rest and not bother him.â
She took Wrennâs arm and pleaded softly.
The more Wrenn looked at her son, the more enraged she became.
Jean asked them to leave before she could say anything else.
âMom, letâs get this over with! You do not need to interfere with our business in the future. Iâll have someone send you home.â
After that, he looked at lan and motioned for him to see the guests out.
lan took the plunge and took a step forward.
âMadam Beauvort, Iâll have the driver take you home.â
Wrenn was enraged, but she swallowed her rage to keep her dignity.
lan paused for a moment, unable to resist the urge to speak up.
âSir, although I havenât had much contact with Ms. Garcia, based on what Iâve seen, she is not that type of person. It could be a misunderstanding.â
Jean remained silent for a few moments. He went upstairs after saying calmly, âI know.â
lan grew more worried about him
Even though he knew his boss trusted Ms. Garcia, he could tell that the photo bothered him.
His jealousy is thick in the air and we couldnât even reach Ms. Garcia at such a critical time. What the hell is going on?
