Chapter 553 The Trip of Two
Neera put Garciaâs matters aside and became completely absorbed in her work.
Time passed while she was preoccupied with her work.
It was getting close to noon when Isabelle walked into her office, carrying several coupons for a hot spring
resort.
âLetâs all go to the hot springs this weekend. The weather is turning cooler. Itâs a good time to relax.
Youâve been back in the country for a while and working nonstop,â she urged as she rubbed Neeraâs face.
âYou need to take a break. We can bring Aunt Adriana and the kids too!â
Chuckling, Neera accepted the coupons and agreed, âIâll do as you say; is that okay?â
Isabella grinned triumphantly. âThatâs more like it!â

As promised, Jean picked up Neera from work in the evening.
They both get in the car to pick up the triplets from school.
âIsnât Auntie Zuniga at home? Jean asked casually on the way. âWhy do you have to pick up the kids all the time?â
Neera smiled, her eyes twi nkling.
âChildrenâs growth should not be without their parents,â she explained. âI want to be there for them, even if itâs as simple as picking them up from school.â
Jean cast a sideways glance at her. When he looked at her, he had a soft look in his eyes. He explained, âYouâre doing a great job as a mother.â
Neera blinked and replied, âThank you for the compliment.â
Jean answered with a smile, âYouâre welcome.â
They arrived at the school gate as they were talking.
When the teacher saw the two, she couldnât help but praise them, saying, âThe two of you are such a loving couple. an exemplary parent that picks up their children together.â
Neera was a little embarrassed.
What made the teacher think we are a loving couple?
Jean maintained his stoicism and acknowledged it with a nonchalant grunt. But if one looked closely, one could see a hint of amusement in his deep eyes.
The triplets hurried over, their excitement evident upon seeing Jean greet them.
âMommy and Daddy! You both are here!â
The term âDaddyâ came naturally to the three little ones.
Even though Jean had heard it before, it gave him a warm feeling in his heart. His mood had improved, and he appeared more talkative and affectionate than before.
âUh-huh, Iâm here to take you home,â he said. âLet us say our goodbyes to the teacher.â
The triplets followed his instructions and quickly got into the car.
Over dinner, Neera discussed the vacation plans with Aunt Adriana and the triplets.
âI donât think I can join this weekend,â Adriana said regretfully. âI have to go to Slord.â
Neera, taken aback, inquired, âWhy are you visiting Slord? Do we have any issues with the project there?â
âItâs not work-related,â Adriana explained, sporting a strange expression. She said quietly, âIâm going with a friend.â
Neera inquired, remembering the man she had seen the day before, âAunt Adriana, are you going with him?â
It was obvious who she was referring to.
Adriana, knowing she couldnât hide it from her, openly admitted, âYes, itâs him. We decided to travel together yesterday to meet an old friend there.â
Neera grew more curious. She asked, âHave you two gotten back together?â
Adriana chuckled. Her eyes sparkled.
âNot yet,â she clarified. Weâre just friends. More accurately, heâs still pursuing me.â
âWhen are you going to accept him? Neeraâs gossip instincts had kicked in.
Adriana paused for a moment before responding, âIâm not sure, but if thereâs any good news, Iâll tell you right away.â
âAlright,â Neera said contentedly, âwhat a waste of those coupons.

Now it was Adrianaâs turn to tease her, âWhy would you feel sorry? Isnât there someone handy? Just invite him along.â
âSomeone handy-whoâs that?â
Neera put on a show of innocence.
âDonât play dumb with me,â Adriana jokes, adding, âYou know who Iâm talking about. The one next door!â
The triplets raised their heads in unison as Neera was about to let the coupon go to waste.
They eagerly accepted the coupon and volunteered.
âLeave it to us! Weâll give Uncle Jean the ticket and invite him!â
The children rushed out of the dining room without waiting for Neeraâs response.
Neera was caught off guard, feeling a mixture of amusement and helplessness.
Next door, Jean had finished dinner and was going through some documents in the living room.
âUncle Jean!â the triplets yelled as they ran in.
They were rushing toward Jean as he looked up. Their cheeks flushed, and their eyes twi nkled.
âUncle Jean, Mommy invites you to the hot springs this weekend! Are you free?â
When Jean heard about the invitation, he raised an eyebrow.
It was rare for Neera to take the initiative.
When he saw the tripletsâ excited and hopeful faces, he accepted the coupon and agreed, âIâm free; I can go.â
The triplets were overjoyed and on the verge of exclaiming in delight.
Satisfied, they gathered in the gazebo in their yard, plotting something.
âWe should sit out of this. Let Daddy and Mommy spend the night at the hotel by themselves!â
âIâm thinking the same thing! We should enlist Godmotherâs help so she can give them some alone time!â
âThat might bring them closer.â
They quickly reached an agreement, feeling immensely proud of their flawless plan.
