Chapter 407 Hold Grudges
Kyra shook her head. âIâm worried about Aunt Wrenn. I dreamed about her last night. Iâm free anyway, so I come and have a look. Itâs always good to have someone around Aunt Wrenn.â
While speaking, she glanced at Jean.
In contrast, Jeanâs attitude was relatively cold. After she entered the door, he only glanced at her and looked away without saying a word.
Kyra knew it was his usual temperament, so she did not care and asked Frederic, âIs Aunt Wrenn awake?â
Frederic shook his head. âShe got angry yesterday. After she passed out, she has been in a coma and hasnât woken up yet.â
âDid something happen?â Kyra feigned to know nothing.
Frederic sighed. âItâs a long story. In short, itâs Joanna who poisoned Wrenn! Wrenn has always believed in her. Thatâs why she was so angry after knowing the truth.â
âHow could it be her!â Kyra looked surprised and frowned. âJoanna is so ungrateful! Aunt Wrenn is so good to her. But sheâs unsatisfied!â
Frederic snorted coldly. âWe didnât expect we would misread a person!â
Kyra blinked and softly comforted, âIf a person deliberately conceals the true self, how can it be easily discovered? Uncle Frederic, this isnât your fault. Itâs Joannaâs fault. She betrayed Aunt Wrennâs and your trust. You donât have to take this matter seriously.â
Then, she took advantage of the situation and suggested, âIt happens that I have nothing to do today.
Let me stay and take care of Aunt Wrenn. Jeanâs health isnât good yet. Itâs better not to overwork. Uncle Frederic, you must not have had a good rest these days. You should rest more, or youâll be ill.â
Frederic was moved and nodded with a faint smile. âThank you, Kyra. Youâre sensible.â
Kyra smiled. âYouâre welcome.â
Jean was about to refuse, but seeing that Frederic had already complied with Kyra, he pursed his lips and said nothing more.
In the following days, Neera devoted herself to developing the antidote.
The research and development of the antidote was more difficult than the production project. Neera and her team must consider the componentsâ medicinal properties and do multiple tedious tests.
They got busy. Fortunately, progress was gratifying.
On the other hand, as Adriana was free, she took the triplets to play on weekends, but they never expected to meet Roxanne and Marnie in the cafe.
Roxanne went shopping with Marnie and was shocked when she saw Adriana. âAunt Adriana, when did you return?â
Adrianaâs complexion changed slightly, but she still brought the triplets to greet Marnie, âHello, Mom.
You look good.â
Marnieâs expression was stern, and she looked angry.
âSince youâve already returned to Kingsview, you should come back to see us! But you hid it from us!
Do you still care about the Garcia family?â
Adriana looked calm and replied, âNeera has been busy recently, and the triplets have no one to take care of, so I help take care of them. I thought I would return to see you and Dad when Neera has time, but I didnât expect to meet you in advance.â
Marnie snorted coldly and looked at the triplets with disgust. She said rudely, âWhy do you take care of them? Theyâre only outsiders!â
Hearing that, Adriana frowned. âMom, youâre an elder. You should be careful when you speak. The triplets are still young. Youâll hurt them. Theyâre Neeraâs children. How can they be called outsiders?
Did you forget how Neera got pregnant?â
Adriana glanced at Roxanne indifferently.
Marnie scolded, âNeera got pregnant because her private life is a disorder! What does it have to do with us? Donât defend her! That girl is restless! We shouldnât have taken her back to the Garcia family in the first place!â
Since Neera contradicted Marnie, Marnie had always held a grudge until now. Seeing Adriana deliberately defending Neera, Marnie was full of disgust.
