Chapter 391 Why Did He Suddenly Touch Me?
It was rare for Neera to show a shy expression. Jean felt amused. He noticed that she seemed to blush easily.
Neera lowered her eyes, and her heart throbbed inexplicably.
The atmosphere around them became more subtle. Neera remembered she still had something to explain, so she cleared her throat and pretended nothing had happened.
âCan you tell me about your momâs situation after you go to the hospital? Iâm worried that the poison will cause serious damage to her internal or ga ns, so itâs better to pay attention at all times. If anything goes wrong, the doctors can treat her in time.ââ
Speaking of Wrennâs condition, Jean turned serious and nodded in response. âOkay.â
After that, he left quickly. Until his car disappeared, the heat on Neeraâs face did not subside.
She touched her slightly hot cheek and muttered, âWhy did he suddenly touch me?â
After calming down, she turned around and went back to rest.
Wrenn was awake when Jean arrived at the hospital.
Kyra and Dandy came to visit Wrenn. They were by her hospital bed while asking her about her health.
âWrenn, how are you feeling? Are you okay? Oh my g od, itâs only been a few days since I saw you!
Why are you so haggard? We wouldnât know what happened if we didnât ask you out shopping today.â
Wrenn leaned against the head of the bed. She was still pale and managed to respond with strength, âIâm still not feeling well. I thought it wasnât a serious illness, so I didnât tell you. I donât want to make you worry.â
Dandy sighed. âWeâve been friends for so many years. Iâm naturally worried about you. As long as you can get better, itâs better than anything else.â
Kyra tucked Wrennâs quilt obsequiously. Her demeanor was gentle and generous.
âAunt Wrenn, when my mom heard you were in the hospital, she was so anxious that she didnât care about work and dragged me straight to here. I was also distraught. You must get better, or we canât rest assured.â
Wrenn looked at Kyra tenderly. Her eyes were full of relief. âKyra, Iâll be fine. Donât worry.â
âYou have good luck. Youâll get better soon!â
When pretending to be gentle in front of elders, no one was more skilled than Kyra. She picked up words that could make Wrenn happy and acted to mention Neera unintentionally.
âI heard Neera mistakenly prescribed the medicine that contradicted Dr. Bridgesâ and caused toxins to appear in your body. Is this true?â
When Kyra mentioned Neera, Wrennâs expression turned gloomy, and she snorted coldly. âThatâs right!â
Dandy took advantage of the situation and said, âNeera is unreliable! She prescribed medicine without seeing you and made you like this! What if something happens? I feel scared to think about it!
Moreover, sheâs still in charge of treating Jean. I worry if anything will go wrong!â
On the surface, Dandy was concerned about Jean, but her words were all meant to belittle Neera,
Kyra echoed, âBut Neera looks quite steady. Maybe it was a momentary negligenceâ¦ââ
âThis is a matter of life! How can she be negligent? Look at Wrennl Neera almost killed Wrenn! She canât use negligence as an excuse!â
Jean happened to overhear Dandyâs words. His eyes were cold, and he opened the door sullenly.
When Dandy and Kyra saw Jean, they immediately shut up.
âHello, Jean,â Kyra hurriedly greeted Jean.
Jean nodded slightly but did not say anything. He did not even greet Dandy and only cared about Wrenn. âMom, how are you feeling today?â
Wrenn sighed. âI always feel that I canât breathe. My heart hurts when Iâm talking. Itâs uncomfortable.â
Jean silently jotted down Wrennâs symptoms and comforted Wrenn, âDonât be nervous. The doctorâs team is investigating your condition. I believe there will be results soon.â
âI hope so.â
After talking for a while, Wrenn felt uncomfortable again. âIâm tired. Jean, can you talk with Dandy and Kyra?â
Dandy quickly helped Wrenn to lie down. âItâs okay. You donât have to care about us. If you feel uncomfortable, take a good rest. We can stay here with you.â
As soon as she finished speaking, Jean said coldly, âThank you for coming to visit my mom. As you can see, sheâs not in a good condition. The doctor told me that Mom has to rest during this period, so itâs not convenient to meet guests.â
The implication was to let them go.
Dandyâs expression was slightly stiff, and she gritted her teeth secretly. This kid embarrassed me several times! He didnât take me seriously!
Naturally, Kyra would not let go of such an opportunity to perform and pretended to be sensible. âI have nothing to do, and Iâm resting at home anyway. I can stay and take care of Aunt Wrenn. Jean, you donât have good health, and Uncle Frederic is getting older. I can help you.â
