The next day, Neera was so exhausted that she stayed in bed and didnât want to get up.
Jean smiled, propping his elbow on the pillow and turning to look at her.
âWhy are you becoming lazier and lazier? Where did the hardworking Neera go?â
Neeraâs muffled voice came from under the blanket, filled with sleepiness. âStop making noise⦠Iâm so tired, I just want to sleepâ¦â
Jean chuckled softly, about to say something, when there was a knock at the door.
The loud and resonant voices of the three children echoed from outside the door.
âMommy, Daddy, itâs almost noon. Arenât you getting up yet?â
Neera seemed startled by the sound, poking her head out from the covers and sleepily gazing towards the door.
âHow did they come back? Werenât they with lan?â
Jean was helping her comb her hair, smiling as he said, âThey insisted on coming back, saying they couldnât miss the first breakfast with us as a real family. Theyâve been waiting outside for a long time.â
Upon hearing this, Neeraâs sleepiness immediately diminished, and she sat up while clutching the blanket.
âWhy didnât you wake me up earlier? This is so embarrassing.â
Upon hearing her words, Jean just looked at her, his gaze carrying a hint of accusation.
Neera then remembered that he had been trying to get her up more than an hour ago, and that she had been the one reluctant to leave the comfort of the bed. Immediately, guilt washed over her.
âItâs all your faultâ¦â she muttered without conviction.
Jean leaned in closer. âWhat are you blaming me for?â
Neera had always been rather shy, so there was no way she could say what she was thinking.
With an annoyed glare at him, she blushed, got out of bed, and headed straight for the bathroom.
From behind came the unrestrained, hearty laughter of Jean, causing Neera to blush as she looked at her reflection in the mirror.
When she saw the marks on her neck, she was at a loss for words and could only choose a dress that would cover them up.
The children had been waiting in the suiteâs living room for quite some time. Finally, their tardy parents arrived.
Upon seeing them, the three children lifted the corners of their mouths, revealing big, bright smiles.
âGood morning, Mommy, Daddy! Letâs have breakfast as a family!â
Glancing at the wall clock, Neera realized it was already past ten. Somewhat embarrassed, she responded, âGood morning.â
The family sat around the dining tabl From behind came the restrained hearty laughter of Jean, causing Neera to blush as she looked at her marks on her neck, she was at a foes for words and could only choose a dress that would cover The children had been waiting in the subeâs living room for quite some time Finally, their tardy parents arrived.
Upon seeing them, the three children lifted the comers of their mouths, revealing big, bright smiles Good morning. Mommy Daddy! Letâs have breakfast as a family Glancing at the wall clock Neera realized it was already past ten Somewhat embarrassed, she responded, âGood morning The family sat around the dining table, with the children clearly very excited. They would occasionally glance at Nera, then turn their heads to look at Jean Daddy âMommy The reflections of their parents shone in the eyes of the triplets, and they smiled with a sense of fulfillment like never before The thing they had been longing for the most had finally come true From then on, every day would be filled with such happiness They no longer needed to feel insecure As Neera stared at her children, her heart melted âBe good and eat your breakfast, kids. Once youâre done, we can go out for a stroll The children nodded, behaving incredibly well as they tucked in and started eating obediently.
At this moment, Neera recalled something. She hesitated for a moment, then turned to look at Jean.
âBy the way have you told your parents about our marriage yet?â
At the mention of Fredegic and Wren, the three children immediately perked up their ears. Their heads remained lowered, but their attention was entirely focused on their parentsâ conversation.
Jean took a sip of his black coffee, calmly stating, âI told them long before we got our certificate.â
Neera was somewhat surprised âThat early? Why didnât i know Jean laughed âEven though this was my decision alone, and I didnât intend to seek their approval, I still needed to inform them. They were very happy and hoped that you would agree to my proposal. They were even more anxious than me.â
Neera was lading out oatmeal when she responded with an âOh. After a while, she said, âOnce weâve settled the affairs in Prison, letâs take the children and go back for a visit.â
along with them.
Upon hearing this, the triplets exchanged glances, all secretly harboring a bit of anticipation.
âMommy, have you⦠forgiven Grandma and Grandpa?â Unable to contain his curiosity, Sammy couldnât help bu ask her in a soft voice.
With a slight lift of an eyebrow, Neera ruffled his hair.
âThereâs no need to talk about forgiveness. From now on, weâre all family. If you miss them, you can call them anytime. Donât worry about me. They⦠they miss you all a lot.â
Upon hearing this, the children felt both happy and worried, fearing that she might have compromised just for sake.
Yet, upon noticing there wasnât the slightest hint of displeasure on her countenance, they finally relaxed.
After breakfast, the family excitedly headed out the door again.
Like the day before, the three children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, but Neera felt somewhat uncomfortable.
For some reason, she kept feeling that many people were watching her today, like countless gazes were focuse on her.
This struck her as odd. As she looked around, she could see some people hurriedly averting their gaze, though others continued to size her up, seemingly engaged in hushed discussions about something.
Just as she was utterly puzzled, Adrianaâs call came in.
âAunt Adriana, is there something you need?â She picked up the phone, but before she could finish her sentence, she heard Adfianaâs surprised voice coming from the other end of the line.
âDid you and Jean get your marriage certificate?â
