the one thing
that could always
beckon the sunlight
to invade
and fill
my mind.
the bright happiness
injected and transformed
all the dark negativity
brooding in my head,
and didn't stop
until it had been
completely
abolished
into thin air.

it made the
contents of my brain
so innocently
bright and pure.
i ached in dread
for the moment
you'd have to let go of me.
in that second,
that very instant,
i made a silent wish
that our embrace
would last
a cliché

and if not,
