Chapter 74
The line connected for a second before Dorian heard, âSorry, the number you have dialed is busy. Please
try again laterâ¦â
The call had connected, but someone hung up on him. Great, now, Gisele actually dared to reject his calls.
Holding her breath, Jennie watched as Dorian called Gisele repeatedly. She wanted to tell him that Gisele had told him not to call. Nevertheless, noticing that he might lose his temper any second, she decided to
remain silent.
Dorian called nonâstop and hung up until Gisele was so annoyed she had to pick up his call. help you?â
âHow man
may I
âAre you just going to shrug off my order like this?â Dorian was truly furious. Although he didnât know the reason behind it, he did know that only Gisele could pacify him.
Gisele furrowed her brows and said with a polite tone, âDorian, you merely mentioned that you would like a combination of hot and cold breakfast, but you didnât say that I have to prepare it.
âFurthermore, canât you afford to hire a housekeeper, given your familyâs wealth? Why do I have to cook when Iâm the young mistress of the house?â
Dorian had no words for rebuttal. Of course, the Jefferson household had no lack of housekeepers, but Gisele had been the one preparing his meals for the past three years. How could she quit just as she
pleased?
âGisele Meyer, letâs hope you can remain this tough after this. Besides gritting his teeth in anger, Dorian had no other things to say that could make Gisele regret her actions.
Giseleâs chest tightened at his threat, and she wondered why a grown man insisted on giving her, a defenseless woman, a hard time.
This time, before she could say anything, he hung up on her. It seemed like he was mad for real.
Gisele was a little worried. Now, the only hold he had on her was the Meyers, and her disappointing father and brother werenât helpful to her situation. At the thought of them, her heart sank.
Despite them both being born into the same family, Gordon could enjoy all the benefits from home. On the other hand, she had to provide for the family even though she wasnât capable.
There was nothing she could do to retaliate against Gordon who was draining her dry until she became completely useless to them.
A sad smile formed on her l*ps, and she got ready quickly before heading to the Withams with the herbal sachets she had prepared. Right after she got into the cab, she received an international call.
âAngie?â she said, sounding concerned.
Angieâs bright voice echoed from the other end, âGigi, Iâve landed in Les Anderes! Donât worry about me. Once Iâve settled down, Iâll start the sale of your herbal sachets and other products. It will be a big hit in
this city. Then, we will occupy Les Anderes and become millionaires in this city!â
Gisele felt relieved at her jovial attitude, and her heart finally relaxed. However, she was still worried. âWe can plan our dreams later. The more important thing is your
They grow up together and had never left Hearthfield except during school holidays. All of a sudden, Angie had moved to another country thousands of miles away, and Gisele was worried that she couldnât
adapt
Im fine! Angie interjected without hesitation. Her voice sounded a little disgruntled as she said, âMy major is finance, and Iâll defeat that jerk once Iâm finished.
âBut you shouldnât endure the suffering in silence when Iâm not in Hearthfield. The Meyers are utterly rotten. Even if you can help them for a short period, you canât do so in the long run. Do you get it?â
âYeah, I know,â Gisele said meekly.
Angie didnât believe her at all and knew that Gisele merely didnât want her to worry. âGigi, youâre more
gifted in medicine than Sierra, and Silas Lyons has already begun his annual recruitment.
âBy becoming his private student, you can return to Hearthfield Medical University for studies. This is a rare opportunity. Donât you want to give it a shot?â
âOf course I do.â Gisele answered promptly.
Noticing that Gisele hadnât become a complete fool hung up on love, Angie breathed a sigh of relief and encouraged her, âRest assured and prepare for the test. Donât worry about the money because I still have
some savings-
âThatâs okay. I have money and found a partâtime job as a caretaker. Itâs only a few hours of work a day.
so itâs not tiring.â
Gisele then roughly told Angie about her situation and kept reminding her to take care of herself in the end
