Chapter 63
âAs for that nonsensical contract that you signed, itâs not even legally binding. I think thatâs all thatâs left to be said,â Dorian carried on saying.
Then, with his brows furrowed, he looked at Alfred and said, âPlease send the guests out.â
Sandra shot Deborah a worried glance. Would she be able to leave like that?
âHold on, Iâll bring a wheelchair over,â Gisele said when she finally snapped back to her senses.
Sierra held onto Dorianâs arm and said anxiously, âDon, will you be sending Gisele to the Withams? What if Deborah doesnât get better?â
Gisele came out of the storeroom pushing a wheelchair in front of her. She paused when she heard what Sierra said. She felt a slight sense of anticipation within her. She wondered what Dorian would say.
âThe Witham family is hiring her, arenât they?â Dorian looked at Sandra impassively.
When Sandra heard that, she quickly broke out in a smile and said, âYes, of course weâre hiring her. Thank you for letting us have her, Mr. Dorian.â
That was a good enough answer for Gisele. It wasnât the best, but it wasnât the worst either.
In fact, she was quite thankful that that was the answer he gave them. At least he acknowledged her
medical skills and didnât just send her off like she was worth nothing.
âWe need to move Mrs. Witham Senior slowly, and we canât let her get too emotional,â Gisele said as
though she heard nothing. She went over to carry Deborah and moved her into the wheelchair.
Before she left, she smiled at Declan and told him, âGrandpa Declan, if you run out of medicine, just send Alfred to me. Iâll prepare them beforehand and he can come and collect them at any time.â
âOkay.â Declan nodded.
He knew who the true culprit behind the scene today was, and he understood that though they claimed
that Gisele was hired by the Withams, she was actually sent there to cover up the mess.
The moment Gisele and Sandra left, Declanâs sharp gaze fell on Sierra immediately.
âWhat are you still here for? Why arenât you getting out of my house yet?â
Sierra seemed startled and cowered behind Dorian.
âGrandfather,â Dorian called out with his brows furrowed.
Declan got up and went up the stairs. âDorian, if you ever bring unwanted people back home again, I guess itâll be time I take the position of president of the company away from you!â
âNo, Declan, whatâs that supposed to mean? Don has made such huge contributions to Jefferson Group. How could youâ¦.â Celeste complained resentfully.
Then, she turned and looked at Sierra with dissatisfaction, âAnd whatâs wrong with you, Sierra? Didnât you
agree to help us back at the hospital? Why did you go back on your word today?â
âYes, Sierra, youâve appeared in multiple interviews with Silas in the past. Are you not on good terms with him? This is a good chance for you to change Dadâs perception of you.â
Sierra backing out of the deal at the last minute did not sit well with Zayla either.
How could a reputable figure like her be compared to someone like Gisele? That was an insult through
and through.
Sierra latched onto Dorianâs arm weakly. She felt as though there was something stuck in her throat, and. she couldnât even get a word out.
Gisele, who had just left with Sandra, however, felt exceptionally free and at ease.
âMs. Meyer, please donât think that Iâm an unreasonable person. Since we agreed that Iâm hiring you, Iâll pay you accordingly. I saw how well you performed the first aid earlier on, Iâm sure youâre an excellent medical student, arenât you?â Sandra looked at her amiably.
Gisele smiled politely and answered, âI understand. Please rest assured, Mrs. Witham. Iâll take good care
of Mrs. Witham Senior.â
She couldnât be happier about being able to escape Dorian and earn some income at the same time!
Felicity, who was riding shotgun, turned around and glared at Gisele fiercely.
âHey! Youâre Dorianâs wife, for goodnessâ sake! Donât you feel humiliated by that? Have you never thought of proving Sierra wrong and making her ask for your forgiveness?â
