Chapter 34
âI just went out to grab something to eat.â Gisele stood up from her wheelchair and moved to the edge of the bed, sitting beside Angle.
Concern flashed across her face as she noticed Angleâs red neck. âAre you having an allergic reaction? Your skin looks irritated.â
âUmâ¦.â Angieâs expression tensed, and she awkwardly reached up to cover her neck.
She hesitated, unsure how to tell Gisele about her allergy to peacocks.
Gisele noticed Angieâs elbow was also red. Concerned, she stood up and rolled up Angieâs sleeve. âWhat happened?â
Angie replied, âIâm fine; donât worry. I just had a reaction to something. I took some allergy medicine, and I feel better now.â
She guided Gisele back to a more comfortable position, her expression serious. âStay put. Iâve got something important to tell you.â
Gisele straightened up, looking puzzled.
âYouâve seen Michaelâs livestream, right? I reported him to the police, and theyâve sent someone to investigate it!â Angie growled.
She believed that scumbags like him deserved to be behind bars.
Giseleâs heart raced upon hearing that. She frowned and asked, âWhat did they find?
Angie responded, âThey suspect Michael orchestrated this, and whoeverâs pulling the strings has a grudge against you.â
Her voice grew louder with indignation. âYou know who would hold such a grudge against you, donât you?â
Gisele fell silent as the outcome of the investigation confirmed her suspicions.
âGigi, what are you going to do next?â Seeing her silence, Angie sensed her inner turmoil.
She knew that anyone else facing such retaliation from a mistress would likely struggle to cope emotionally and mentally.
Gisele bit her l*p and muttered, âLetâs leave it to the police.â
Even if there was evidence, she knew Dorian would defend Sierra. In the end, Gisele would be painted as the scornful wife.

All she wanted now was a peaceful divorce and to earn money.
If the opportunity arose, she hoped to become one of Silas Lyonsâ students and study. medicine. He was an international medical specialist.
gie was taken aback by her response.
Angie
She gently patted Giseleâs shoulder and said, âAlright, then. You should focus on recovering in the hospital for the next few days. Donât worry about anything else.â
Gisele nodded with a smile.
Before getting into bed, she took an ointment from her bag and handed it to Angie. It was a formula she had developed.
âIf you encounter an allergen again, use this ointment immediately,â Gisele instructed.
Angie nodded and tucked Gisele into bed before leaving. She didnât want Gisele to get involved in the mess, but that didnât mean she would go easy on Sierra.
As she passed by Sierraâs ward, she saw her sitting pale on the bed while Dorian fed her fruit.
Angie crossed her arms and leaned against the doorframe.
She smirked and teased, âA beauty like you lost a limb at such a young age. Isnât it pitiful? tired? Youâre fighting to be the mistress while keeping up that fake facade. Donât you ever get
Sierraâs eyes began to well with tears when Angieâs sudden voice startled her. She looked toward the door pitifully.
Dorian turned around. His icy face scanned behind Angie, hoping to glimpse someone else.
When he didnât see Gisele, he was disappointed. He had seen Gisele and Johnson head to the cafeteria but hadnât been able to find them.
Angie continued, âMs. McMillanâs tears always tug at my heartstrings. But if those proper wives were to discover that their revered top socialite is actually a mistress, imagine the chaos that would ensue.
She leaned against the doorframe, feigning deep contemplation.
Dorian stood up, his imposing stature filling the room with an undeniable presence.
He said coldly, âIs this how you were raised, Ms. Abbott? To act like a nuisance in someone elseâs space?â
She retorted, âYou! Despite my shortcomings, I still have enough dignity not to lower

myself to being a mistress, especially not as shamelessly as that b*tch!â

She stood up straight and defended Gisele. âCanât you see the reality? Can someone whoâs opposed by Mr. Jefferson Senior be truly trustworthy?â
âShut up!â
