Norman was at a loss for words. He sighed and said, “Sophia, I don’t want to force you, but this is a serious matter, and you should think about it for a few more days.”

After saying that, he left the villa.

Olivia screamed indignantly, “Aaaaaargh! How can such a man exist in this world?!”

Felix looked at Norman’s departing figure and frowned. Although he was very dissatisfied with Norman’s behavior, he came to defend him, saying, “Norman is the sole heir of the Maloney family and has been engaged to Miss Maurice of the Bass family since childhood. Although he is always seen with different women, he has always been careful and has never impregnated anybody.”

Olivia was puzzled. “So Sophia should abort the child? He should take responsibility for his mistakes.”

For now, he was just an irresponsible father who would not admit to what he did.

“Felix, and Claude, thank you for coming today.” She thanked the two of them.

Felix said, “You’re welcome. It’s my honor to be able to help you.”

Claude said embarrassedly, “Well, I did hope that the father of the child is mine.”

Sophia smiled helplessly. Things weren’t always as smooth-sailing as one had hoped and she shouldn’t force it.

They bade their goodbyes and left.

Olivia walked Sophia to the door of the house. She saw Sophia’s brother standing there as if he had been waiting for a long time.

After seeing Sophia, David hurried over. “Sophia, if you don’t come back soon, Mom and Dad will be worried sick.”

It was getting really late.

The Green family was not an old-fashioned family. In the past, there were nights where Sophia returned very late in the night or even none at all.

However, she was now a pregnant woman and wouldn’t let her run around as if things were still the same.

Olivia greeted, “Hello, David. Sophia has been with me today. She will be fine.”

David disagreed, “Well, you should go home too, don’t make your family worry.”

Sophia nodded obediently. “Got it.”

He asked, “Have you had dinner?”

The girls shook their heads.

“We haven’t had dinner at home yet. Olivia, come over too.”

It was way past dinner time.

Olivia accepted his invitation. Since there was no food for her if she went home now, it seemed to be a prudent move. It wasn’t the first time she’d done something like this.

Carl Green, who was reading the newspaper on the couch, glanced at the door as they entered. After seeing Sophia, he continued reading the newspaper as if nothing had happened.

His mother Laura, who was busy in the kitchen, came out. They greeted each other and finally sat down at the dining table.

Laura asked, “Did something happen at the church today? Why were you gone for so long?”

Olivia said, “It was fine over at the church. We went somewhere else and it took some time, that’s why we came back so late. Don’t worry, Aunt Laura, Uncle Carl.”

Laura sighed, “Sophia is not the same as before. You shouldn’t just go wherever you want. Even then, you’d have to be extra cautious.”

Sophia replied, “Mom, I don’t do extreme sports. I can still go the places I used to go before I’m pregnant.”

Carl snorted. “I’ll say it. You should listen to me and abort the child! It’s better than having your mom constantly worrying over you!”

Sophia put down her cutleries and said firmly, “Everyone, I’ve already decided that I won’t abort the child. I will give birth to him.”

There was a moment of silence at the dining table. Even Olivia held her breath.

Carl raised his voice, “Sophia! Are you out of your damned mind?!”

Laura couldn’t understand. “Sophia, are you sure you want to give birth to the baby? You don’t know who the father is!”

Sophia and Olivia looked at each other and said frankly, “I do, now.”

David immediately clenched his fists and asked, “Who is it?”

Sophia bit her lip and looked at Olivia for help.

She did not know how to tell her family that although she had found the child’s father, the child’s father did not acknowledge this matter at all.

After receiving Sophia’s signal, Olivia took the initiative and said, “Norman Maloney, a student of Rotary University. He’s the same age as Sophia and me, and is the sole heir of the Maloney family.”

Carl frowned. “The Maloney family?”

David said angrily, “I don’t care who he is! I’ll teach him a lesson for doing this to my sister!”

Olivia nodded and continued awkwardly, “Although we have confirmed that the father of the child is him, yet he doesn’t want the child.”

It was after a long silence did Carl exclaim, “B*stard!”
