In a year, my entire like changed for the better. I spent many years before that forcing a dark cloud over my head, because I thought there was nothing else for me. So many people suffer thinking life is a curse and that their existence is a mistake. No matter how you got to that dark place, the good thing is that you don't have to stay there.
That's not to say that every day is going to be sunshine and without problems. I believe that each day is going to be filled with ups and downs. The difference between the Jamie I was before and the Jamie that I am now is that I no longer fear what's to come. All glory belongs to God, because he opened my heart and my mind. I don't have to go through living in this world alone. Knowing Him is the confidence I have today.
I'm thankful for A.B., too! Honestly, A.B. is an amazing person and boyfriend. I know he'll be a great husband and dad, too. Whether we make it to marriage or not, I'll always be glad that he came into my life when he did. God knows His creation needs meaningful interactions, genuine connections, and loving relationships. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of people like A.B. That man is rooted in being who God called him to be. I pray that everyone on this earth has someone in their life like A.B. - a relative, a friend, or a spouse. The best relationship to have is one with Yahuah - God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; the God of Yahusha HaMashiah (Jesus Christ). ð
NOTE: Yahuah and Yahusha are their names in Hebrew.

So what now? Other than watching celebrities accept my music awards on my behalf and getting random phone calls from my cousin Monica, I continue to grow and learn more about God which in return helps me to learn how to operate in this world. I no longer feel the need to impress or please others. Not to say, I don't struggle, but I'm much happier knowing that I'm only obligated to please one - God! I've definitely matured in my faith. I'm not on a preacher's level, but when I'm having a conversation about God, no matter who it is, I can't help but to engage.
How's everyone else? My parents are enjoying their time together. They just got back from Italy, and they're planning to rent an RV and travel through the States. Hopefully, they'll be back in town for the family reunion that's coming this summer. I can't wait to see Uncle Nors! Monica is gonna be mad she missed it. Well, she tells me she won't be able to attend, but I know that woman too well. She's going to show up to surprise us all.
Zell and Cathy Rivers adore her. I hear they often ask about me. I do think about my time spent living in their home. Interesting times, indeed, but I don't want to go back.
Zeke's reality talent show The Power House is now casting for a third season. Zack has a new girlfriend, and I hope it works out. Bridgette, Warren, and Maximo have either called or text me to see how I've been. I missed them so much.
Deonte and his group are everywhere; especially, after gaining more fans from their collab with the boyband AOI. The CRU is currently promoting their tour for the end of the year. Deonte called me the other day to join them, but I declined. He said he'd call again when the tour got closer, and I told him I'd still decline. Deonte has become one of my best friends from the music industry, and I know it will remain that way. Cha-Cha and Deana text me a few times to see how I am, and I do the same - check on them. They are definitely the sisters I've always wanted. I heard Cash and their mom is doing well, too.
Larry is a megastar. He's releasing his album in August, and he has two number one songs and his features on other artists' records are adding to his list of hits. He recently texted me, asking if I'll sing on another one of his songs, but I declined. Then, he said I owed him one more song. He was definitely becoming a little brother I didn't ask for, but I really appreciate him.
The last I heard about RiSe Records, Aja Frost was back on top, Ricky Santana was out of the hospital and had taken over as President and CEO while Aniya Santana is looking guilty and will be sentenced to a long time in prison. Corruption is still corrupting, and I'm going to mind the business that God has me in.
I called Erma Demure a few weeks ago, and we talked for hours. She wants to visit me so she can meet A.B. She wants to give him an earful about being a 'yes man' or a 'no man.' That lady has a lesson for everybody.
Rochelle Ginger is still a great lawyer and friend. My royalty checks have been royaltying, and I cannot complain.
Mr. Dave and Marilyn, A.B.'s uncle and aunt, have reached out to us to have another double date. They're doing well, and A.B. and I plan to visit them soon. Priscilla, A.B's mom, finally got the Jae A.B. concert she wanted when A.B. and I visited her and watched my concert movie. She asked me to sing along, and I did, even though this was the 50th time she's watched it. Her kindness and endearment were definitely passed down to A.B.
Back to adult Monica, she and Zeke have become the couple of all couples, even though they're super private. Fans and the media can only speculate about the beautiful married couple and their mansion with too many pregnancy rumors. Monica Monday now Monica Rivers is not the one to get caught slipping. When it happens, everyone will know. Overall, they are solid as a rock and deeply in love.
To the others that we're kind to me and very helpful like my team at RiSe Records, Zeke's new assistant Zeporah, even my old neighbors Paulette and Joey... wait, this is not a thank you speech. Anyway, I hope they're all doing well.
I, Jamie Sawyer, am doing quite well, because I officially retired from the music business. A week after A.B. and I came back to East Grove, I flew to L.A. and met up with some of Zell Rivers' music friends to shop some of my songs. It was nonstop, meeting after meeting after meeting. I ended up selling three out of seven songs I wrote, and one of those songs plays non-stop on the radio today. I'm grateful, but my heart is just no longer in it.
After the fun and relaxing vacation I had, there's no way I'm going back to the music industry even as a songwriter. This is not to say that I don't like music anymore or that I won't ever write, again. Instead, I'll be writing for God.
Sometimes, the path you start on is not where you'll end up. If you want to change your life, your career, your health; your beliefs - you can! You don't have to be forced or stuck where you are, you are free to move around as long as you are still alive. God gives us a choice. You either choose to believe Him or not, but if you choose to believe Him - follow through. Simply put, the dream I always wanted that came true is not the dream I have today. Now, my dream is to live my life in obedience to God. It's His Will. Now I know and believe that it is only through Jesus Christ that I am able to know God. He saved me from a life of heartache and disappointment and in exchange gave me love and righteous freedom. The Bible is the guide and the truth that set me free. Repent, have faith in Him, and He'll never leave nor forsake you - Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5.
For now, I'm a stay-at-home daughter, well taken care of girlfriend, and former singer and songwriter with plans. I plan to write a book about my life as Jae A.B. under my writer's name Amie Shaw, and Jae A.B. will be called Princess. It's a work in progress, but the main goal is to share my testimony and faith. I mentioned this once to A.B., and he found a literary agent in less than a week. I haven't even began writing. I also help A.B. organize his mentor class even though he doesn't really need my help, but he tells me he likes how I do it. Last, A.B. has been teaching me about investing. Let's just say I feel like I'm taking college courses, but I have a fine professor to teach me. I really can't complain. So what now?
My phone rang as I sat on the couch, flipping channels for something to watch. I was having a lounge-around-the-house day. I picked up my phone to see "bABe" appear on the screen.
I answered it with a smile. "Hey, babe!"
"Hey, baby! What you doing?" A.B. asked me.
"Nothing. Trying to find something to watch. What you doing?" I put my remote down as the credits rolled for an old film.
"I have a client at Yellow Sand Beach who wants to sell me some property, but I wanted to see if you wanted to go."
I smiled, "Now you know that's our spot! Of course, I want to go. What time are we leaving?"
