Chapter 12: Chapter 12~The Math Ain’t Mathing

Sebastian’s POV~

My Arabella crawls into my lap, and snuggles around me. Within seconds of me wrapping her in my arms, she is lightly snoring. Brayden smiles and says “Little sister is worn out. Too much drama!” My eyes widened and I said “you’ve claimed her?” And all four of them nodded. I felt such warmth and peace enter my heart and I smiled. I said “ Our little topo chi cigola is creating a family!”

Kaiden laughed and said “She may not like being called a squeaky mouse, though!” And we all laughed! He’s probably right! I look up and say “we are moving this to the conference room. Every one of you be there in a half hour!” As I passed the sofa, I grabbed a throw off the back so I can keep Arabella warm. We were all waiting for my father and his entourage…talking quietly so as to not wake ma’ belle! I am falling deeper and deeper for her every second. The urge to protect her is overwhelming!

And as if his sole purpose on this planet, was to destroy my happiness, my father enters the room with his little group and I find myself wondering why Shana and Celia are here..and where the hell is my stepmother!? I waved my hand to the opposite side of the table, indicating that is where they sit.

Cheri barely sat her ass in the chair, before she snarked “She just going to stay in your lap like that? She doesn’t have a room?” I replied “I fail to see how that concerns you..but because talking about My mate is my second favorite thing to do…the first being, talking To her…I’m indulging you with an answer… Yes she is and yes…she does” and we all laughed.

I said “Why are you both here, Cherie? Shana?” Shana said “Father asked to be here, as I witnessed the agreement between Alpha Somers and him, sealing your joining with Celia.” I nodded…and said “I see. Your dismissed!” She started to protest and Eros came forth and snarled “NOW!!”

And two things happened. Shana hauled ass out of the room and my squeaky mouse held true to her name. She squeaked! And sat up in my lap, rubbing her eyes and said “What’d I miss?” And we all laughed again. I explained we had just begun discussing this agreement that was made with neither my knowledge nor permission…

She says “Ahhhh! You may continue” and leans back against my chest. Kaiden cracks up and even Callista snickers. This girl!!

I look at my father and say “Alfred…pass a copy of the agreement over to Kaiden. I want to see what I offered to pay for Somer’s cow”

I turned to Celia and said “The only thing you need to know about any of this, is, this agreement is null and void. I was never..and never will be…even thinking of choosing you. I slept with you once! And it wasn’t that good..should have given you a hint when I never repeated it! You are dismissed!”

As she left, Cory says “Thank Goddess! The stench of her arousal was making me want to throw up! I could smell the stench of at least five men!” And again, we laughed.

Alpha Somers slammed his fists and screams “That is my daughter you are denegrating” and Arabella answers in the same tone “And she is a whore!!” And everyone sat a few moments and she looks at all of us and says “What? I thought we were playing ‘State the Obvious’…” and that did us all in…Brayden fell out of his chair and that made Kaiden laugh so hard he fell out of his…Good Times!

Alfred jumps up and screams at me “This is how you conduct your meetings? This travesty of a conference? You make a mockery of the throne…casting aspersions on the very Crown!”

And Eros roared “SIT DOWN”and he sat immediately. I said “This is hardly a meeting…and definitely not a conference! It is a, by my Grace, conversation to indulge two old men..in their dotage! So, mind your tongue..or you will lose it!”

Kaiden mindlinks me “you aren’t going to like this. This agreement is fucked up…seven ways from Sunday. All to benefit Somers, while you get…umm…well, Celia.. Somers would be granted council status with Lead Council, as his title. He was to receive 42,000 acres attached to his packlands to the North…granted, half of it is mountainous terrain but still a good chunk of land. And his son…his heir..was to have his pick of any of the high ranking females that lost the competition.” I linked back “and Alfred gets what?” He said “I’m still reading…there’s four more pages.I will get back to you”.

I looked at Somers and said “Tell me about this agreement. I haven’t read it” He looks at me, suspiciously, and says “Why?” I reply “Because if it’s not too outrageous, I might be able to comply with some of the conditions. I want us to remain allies” He visibly relaxes and says “It wasn’t too much, really. I was offered a seat on the council and a bit of land on the Northern part of my border.”

I sat there, looking at him for a long moment. I have found this to be a beneficial interrogation tactic…makes them squirm! I wrapped my mouse in my arms and breathed her in. Immediately, Eros is soothed! That never ceases to astound me! I looked up at Alfred and Somers. I spoke to Somers “Where is your son?” And he said “Why?”

Arabella mumbles “He says why a lot! Is he stupid? The why is obvious…Ohhh! I get it! It’s a delaying tactic “ and we all just sat there and looked at her. She looks up and her eyes settle on each of us a moment..Then her eyes get huge and she says “Said that out loud right? Note to self…keep thinking thoughts inside the head and close the mindlink” as she facepalms…Anddd we all laugh.

And Somers clears his throat…I raise my eyebrows at him, just as Kaiden comes into my link “ Nothing. Your father gets nothing..” I said “That makes no sense.. Alfred is an excellent negotiator.” I said “Somers….Is your son here? In my kingdom? In MY home?” He stutters out “Yes, Alpha” I say “And why was I not informed another alpha was in my home? Why did he not greet me properly? And you, Alfred… why would you be negotiating an agreement with no benefit to you? Something isn’t adding up, gentlemen. I want the two of you…along with your son, Somers…in my office by 9 in the morning . And you’d better have answers! You better pray I accept your answers! I will charge you both with treason!!! Something is off about this whole thing! The Math ain’t Mathing!”
