Chapter 300
Couples often kissed and made up after a spat in bed. Any problem could be solved through communication, and if it couldnât, well, communicating a few more times would do. Of course, weâre talking physical communication here.
Flynn downstairs was hoping for some juicy drama to unfold, but after a long wait, there was no sound to be heard. Flynn sighed, âHerman is such a calculated guy. Anastasia doesnât stand a chance.â
Dailey asked seriously, âAnastasia fights too?â
Flynn gave Dailey a look. The pain of being single and not even knowing this. âDailey, you should get a girlfriend when you have the time, so pitiful,â Flynn said sympathetically.
Dailey shook his head. âWhy would I want a girlfriend? All that crying and nagging, itâs annoying.â
Flynn glanced at his hand. âWhat, planning to spend the rest of your life with your right hand?â
The next day.
Anastasia woke up in a soft bed, and the curtains were drawn, blocking all light. It was pitch black in the room, she couldnât tell if it was day or night. She switched on the night light, and the roomâs decor came into view, it felt like she had just woken from a dream. She nudged Herman awake. âHerman, I had a dream last night. I dreamt you became a billionaire.â
Herman didnât open his eyes, and he lay there with a faint smile. âWhy donât you open the curtains and see if itâs a dream.â
The curtains were electric, Anastasia didnât know, being new around here. She got out of bed to open them, but Herman had already hit the remote. The curtains slowly parted, and sunlight streamed in, revealing the stunning view of the sky garden.
âThis isnât a dream,â Anastasia exclaimed, walking out to the balcony overlooking the mansionâs backyard, looking out at the entire villa district, and, even further, the iconic buildings of Riverdale.
Herman got up, and slipped on a shirt without buttoning it, showing off his muscular and powerful physique. It was extremely attractive. He walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her. âHoney, take a look at the empire Iâve won for you.â
Even after a night, Anastasia was still a little shocked, excited, and incredulous. It felt like winning a billion-dollar lottery, who could stay calm? Anastasia turned to look at him, then back at the sky garden. âHerman, youâre already attractive enough. I bet there are love rivals I donât even know about.â At this moment, Anastasia was a lot calmer, she and Herman were in different worlds, and she didnât have the confidence to hold on to him for a lifetime.
Hermanâs dark eyes looked straight into her soul, understanding her thoughts. âWhether two people can walk through life together isnât about whether their wealth matches. If you met a regular guy instead of me at Cafe Bliss, and you two had to struggle for a living, fought over money, and let lifeâs trivialities wear you down, could you be sure heâd be with you for life?â
Anastasiaâs bright eyes looked at him, and then she suddenly smiled. âYou do have a point. Betrayal doesnât depend on wealth. Whether you look good or not, anyone can betray. In that case, why not find a better one?â
âMarriage starts with fate, but it also depends on a personâs character.â Herman asked, âDonât you trust your husbandâs character?â
Anastasia was silent; thinking about her and Hermanâs inability to have children, she felt a bit regretful.
AnastasÃa asked, âBy the way, how did you find me last night?â
Herman replied, âI tried to call you, but your phone was unreachable, so I went back to your neighborhood. The security guard told me you had been back, but your mom said you didnât come home, so I guessed something might have happened.â Herman continued, âDailey is good at tracking, if he wants to find someone, itâs not a big deal.â
âWhereâs my phone?â Anastasia suddenly remembered, her phone was missing, âWhereâs my new phone?â She had just replaced her phone after the last car accident, and it wasnât even a month old so she felt heartbroken.
Herman smiled. âDailey got it back from Harmon.â
Anastasia was immediately relieved. âThatâs good.â
Herman handed Anastasia her phone. Seeing it undamaged, she quickly turned it on. After unlocking her phone, Anastasia saw several messages from her mom. She quickly called her mom back, but the person who answered was Tavon.
âAna, finally got through to your phone. Your mom is sick. She fainted all of a sudden.â
