Chapter 225
Ashley would never let Tavon give a penny to Anastasia and her mom. All the money must be left to her own children.
Tavon said, âIâm well aware. Anastasia doesnât have much affection for me as a father. I donât expect her to do anything for this family. I just hope she can save Sandy. Iâll give her some money then, and thatâs the best I can do.â
âYouâre giving them too much no matter how much it is. Sheâs your daughter, and you have the right to ask her to donate bone marrow to Sandy,â Ashley said sarcastically. âYou gave them money last time. If you give them money again, Iâll be very angry. You better watch
out.â
This was a typical case of wanting to get Anastasiaâs bone marrow without paying the corresponding price.
âI wonât give her any more money. Iâll listen to you.â Tavon was a bit fed up with Ashleyâs nagging. He just wanted to end the topic. âThereâs a lot to deal with in the vineyard every day. I need to call my secretary now to arrange some work.â
Night fell.
It was seven oâclock when Anastasia left the hospital. She stood at the hospital gate and called Herman.
Soon, the call was answered. Anastasia heard some noise on the other end of the phone, but it soon quieted down. She asked, âAre you busy?â
âYes, Iâm out seeing clients today.â Herman walked to a quiet place, checked the time, and said, âIâll be home by ten oâclock tonight.â Anastasia didnât want to go home alone, so she asked, âWhere are you?â
Herman chuckled on the phone and joked, âDarling, is this your way of testing my loyalty?â
Anastasia laughed. âI miss you. Where are you? Iâll take a cab over, and we can go home together.â She had made up her mind, and Anastasia knew her marriage with Herman would not last long, so she wanted to cherish every moment.
âItâs an honor to have you pick me up from work.â Hermanâs mellow voice came. âIâll send you the address. Let me know when you get here.â
âOkay.â
After hanging up, Anastasia received the address from Herman and took a cab there.
The place where Herman was entertaining people was Neon Dreams, next to the previous Ãclipse Lounge. A few years ago, Herman was drugged by Collin and others in this club, and his memory became blurred afterward.
When Anastasia arrived at the entrance of Neon Dreams and saw the sign at the door, a sense of familiarity came over her. She felt as if she had been here before, although it was her first time. She stood at the entrance in a daze but couldnât remember when she had been here. She couldnât afford to spend time at such an upscale place. Maybe she had seen similar places on the internet or TV shows, and thatâs why she felt familiar.
Anastasia didnât think too much about it. She walked in, and the lobby manager immediately came up to greet her enthusiastically. âMaâam, do you have a reservation, or would you like me to arrange something for you?â
Anastasia smiled and waved her hand. âNo need, Iâll just sit in the lobby. Iâm waiting for someone.â
The lobby manager nodded. âAlright, this way, please.â
Even if you didnât spend money here, as long as you walked through the door, you would be treated as a VIP guest and wouldnât face any discrimination. That was quality service.
Anastasia sat in the lobbyâs resting area, and the lobby manager immediately had lemon water brought over.
Anastasia quickly said, âThank you, you guys are really hospitable.â
*Please enjoy.â
Anastasia asked, âHow much is this lemon water? Iâll pay for it.â
âThis is complimentary, no need to pay.â
Anastasia immediately sighed, the service at upscale places really was different from ordinary places. They truly made guests feel at home.
Anastasia sent a message to Herman. [Iâm here. Donât worry about me waiting. Finish your stuff first.]
Herman, who was in the VIP box, saw the message and smiled involuntarily. He replied. [Okay.]
Then he said to the bankâs president sitting across from him, âMy wife is here. We may need to speed things up.â
The president laughed. âIâve heard that youâre very devoted to your wife and spoil her a lot. I heard you recently stayed at the hospital to take care of her, which is really admirable. Iâve only heard your wifeâs name, but I havenât seen her yet. Iâm really curious, Mr. Salstrom,
wouldnât you introduce us?â
Herman raised his glass. âIâll invite you to my house in the future if thereâs a chance.â
Anastasia had been feeling down these past few days, and Herman didnât want to put pressure on her by having her deal with these
business activities.
âAlright, it seems you treasure your wife very much. I guess your wife must be a beauty,â the president said with a smile. âCheers.â
