I am more than the marks on my face,
I am more than the curves of my lips,
I am more than my figure,
And more than the curves that make my hips,
I am more than my eyes, mouth, and nose,
I am more than a name and a face,
I am delicate and intricate,
I am the aspects of my personality,
And the smile on my lips,
And my eyes when they talk of passion,
And my heart as it skips,
I am more than what people think of me,
I am who I'm meant to be,
And in a society that judges me for my looks,
I am more than what they see,
They refuse to look at me in depth,
As they slightly brush through the surface,
And if you had cared to look,
I am more than my appearances,
I am bold and brave and resolute,
I am determined and loud spoken,
I have dreams and aspirations,
I am not just a "woman",
When you define me by my looks?
I am seen as an object,
But when you define me by my personality,
I am finally seen as a human,
So next time you see me,
I am more than what I seem,
And if that troubles you,
You haven't looked at me with eyes and a heart that are clean.
