âShe is a pretty good cook,â Frank thought. He could see from Judithâs skillful manners that she often cooked. âWhat did Judy go through over these years?â It was painful for Frank to think about this. He did not look at Judith. Instead, he lowered his head and said with a smile, âJudy, itâs very delicious. This is the first time Iâve had such delicious ravioli. It reminded me of my childhood. For the first time, a very considerate little girl gave me a strawberry lollipop. It was so sweet.â i His clear voice was full of nostalgia. Judith felt that there was an unknown pain in his heart Judith looked up and saw the wistful look on his face. âIs he missing someone she wondered. Judith suddenly remembered Marilynâs words.
âIs he missing the woman he liked?â
Just then, the doorbell rang. Judith looked at the door and thought, âIt should be Adam. Only Adam knows that I live here.â Then she glanced at Frank and didnât say anything, but got up and opened the door. She was right. It was Adam. âJudy, Iâve brought supper for you.â Adam smiled happily and showed her the shrimp and hot wings in his hand. He had a big bright smile. Frankâs face darkened as he heard that it was Adam. âWhat is Adam doing here so late at night?â Frank forgot he was also an unexpected visitor. Judith smiled, âAdam, itâs so late. Why did you especially bring me supper? I can take care of myself. Donât worry about me.â Judith got out of the way and let Adam in. âYou always settle for some cold, simple snacks. If I donât take good care of you, the kids will be angry at me.â Adam gave a serious look. He was afraid that she hadnât eaten anything at the banquet and went to bed hungry. However, when he saw Frank sitting in the living room, the smile on his face froze. Adamâs jaw clenched when he saw the handsome man in Judithâs place. Frank gave Adam a haughty look. The aristocratic man didnât hide his innate arrogance when he faced a man who wanted to steal his woman. Judith felt the tense atmosphere between the two men. She looked at Adam and explained, âAdam, Mr. Taylor dropped me home. We barely ate anything at the banquet. So I made ravioli. Would you like to have some? Iâll make more.â Adam was her friend, her big brother. All she wanted now was to take revenge and find her biological parents. She had never thought about falling in love with anybody. She didnât think that Adam saw Frank being here at midnight was a big deal. Adam raised his eyebrows as he stared at her calm and innocent smiling face. A thoughtful expression appeared on his handsome face. âJudy, you silly girl, canât you see that Frank has some feelings for you?â Adam pulled Judithâs hand and walked to Frank.
With a fake smile, he said politely, âMr. Taylor, thank you for taking care of my Judy.â Adam thought he should not have listened to Judy tonight and should have gone to pick her up directly. âFrank is dangerous. A man who does not even have any scandals, suddenly gets close to Judy? He must have an ulterior motive.â
