Chapter 9: 𝑉𝐼𝐼

"A tornado of roses from divine"

After Jason instructed Lily to go back to the table, Lily sat there with crossed arms and waited for Jason.

Few seconds later Jason slid into his seat in front of Lily and stared at her frowning face.

"What?" He asked cluelessly.

"I don't appreciate you ordering me around"

Jason sighed and muttered something under his breath " I'm sorry, I just got pissed when I saw that asshole bothering you"

Lily didn't expect Jason to apologize this easily because well it's JASON.

"You're forgiven just don't do it again and thank you"

"I should call you trouble from now on, you can't seem to stay away from problems"

"It's not my fault that they're buttholes"

"Touche"

"At what time the ball starts tomorrow?"

"I'll pick you up at 7 sharp"

"Oka- wait I haven't told my parents yet, what if they don't allow me?"

"It's okay , leave it to me"

"What are you going to do?"

"I said leave it to me don't worry your pretty little head about it".

"Okay"

Today was the day the charity ball was held. It was now three pm and Lily was pacing in the kitchen ,where her mom was cooking, as she struggled to figure out how she'll tell her about the ball.

"Lily, honey, I love you but could you please stop walking around me ? You're getting me nervous, what's the matter?"

Lily bit her lip trying to figure out what to say next "Um well mom you know there's a charity event and um my friend invited me to attend it with h-him so I was wondering if I can go"

"Is that what all this is about? Don't worry your friend already cleared it out with your dad and he gave him his permission"

"Really? Jason spoke with dad? What did he tell him?"

"I don't know much about that ,sweetie".

Lily couldn't contain her smile as she gave her mother a big kiss on her cheek and rushed towards her room to get ready.

Before she even reached her bedroom the doorbell rang.

"Lily, could you please open the door?"

"Yes, mom"

Two ladies stood on the other side of the door with black bags in their hands as Lily stared at them with confusion.

"Is this Lily White house?" One of the ladies asked.

"Yes?"

"Mr. King sent us to help you get ready"

"Oh um come in"

Lily hesitantly led them to her bedroom after introducing them to her mom. Why didn't Jason tell her about this before?

As the two ladies got their stuff ready Lily unlocked her phone to ask Jason about this. She was surprised to see a message from him was sent thirty minutes earlier, but she didn't notice it because her phone was silenced.

So he did actually inform her beforehand.

Lily sent him a quick selfie with her thumb up and the makeup in the background before she sat down as the ladies started doing their magic.

Two hours and thirty minutes later the ladies were done and left immediately after collecting their stuff.

Who thought getting ready would take that long?

Lily quickly got in her dress and put her heels on , finishing the final touches.

Her phone dinged as she received a message from Jason telling her that he'll be here in five minutes. She also noticed that he reacted with a heart to the previous picture she sent.

Descending the stairs she was met by her parents' teary and proud eyes. She's their precious baby.

"You look stunning, Lily" Her dad twirling her around.

A small giggle left Lily's lips and a smile spreaded on her face.

"Thank you , dad"

"You grew up so fast" Lily's mother hugged her as tears filled her eyes"

"Mom , don't cry now"

"She is a beautiful young lady now, but she'll always be our little baby girl" Her dad said as he hugged her mom to calm her down.

A knock on the door broke the heartwarming moment and suddenly Lily felt nervous about Jason's reaction.

Her dad went ahead and opened the door and greeted Jason before inviting him in.

"I would love to Mr. White, but we're a bit late already"

As Lily heard that she walked towards the front door and her eyes caught the sight of Jason looking dazzling in his three piece black suit.

Jason's eyes darted towards Lily and his breath got caught in his throat.

Holy shit she looked fucking ravishing.

The polly embellished black dress hugged her curves perfectly. The slit that went from the top of her legs all the way down to the ground made it even sexier. (Picture below / thank you @SilverMist010 for the dress recommendation 🤍).

They held eye contact as if the world around them stopped. Jason couldn't take his eyes away from her, neither could Lily.

Finally, Lily couldn't take the deep stare that Jason was giving her, causing her cheeks to blush . She was the one to break eye contact first as she averted her eyes away from him trying to collect herself.

Her parents were around them after all.

James, Lily's dad cleared his throat grabbing Jason's attention "Take good care of her and bring her back before midnight"

"Don't worry, sir, she's in safe hands"

James nodded at him in approval and before they left Jason introduced himself to Lily's mom getting her approval too.

As both Lily and Jason got in the car , Jason glanced back to make sure her parents weren't there anymore and then brought his eyes back to Lily.

Lily was absolutely nervous and him staring at her didn't help at all.

She gathered the courage to look him in the eyes and she was shocked by the intensity they held.

"You're so fucking pretty , little Fiore"

Lily blushed even harder at that and Jason found it absolutely adorable.

"Thank you, you look handsome as well"

Jason hummed in response, but he couldn't take his eyes away from her.

"What?" Lily asked shyly.

"You're just so beautiful tonight, a little more beautiful than ever"

As those words left his lips Lily's heart skipped a beat as millions of butterflies filled her stomach.

She couldn't help the nervous giggle from leaving her lips " stooppp"

She couldn't take it anymore, she was getting lightheaded from all these feelings.

A smile broke on Jason's lips as her soft giggles filled the car. His smile had such an effect on her , it's like her soul dances when he smiles at her.

And the way he looks at her like the whole world could crumble and he wouldn't blink.

Soon enough they reached his house where the ball was held.

"Woah ! Is this your house?"

"Mhm"

"It's so pretty! calling it a house sounds like an insult it's a fricking mansion"

Jason chuckled at that before reaching to the back and grabbing two masks from the back, it was a masquerade after all.

"One last thing" Jason said then slowly put on Lily's mask for her .

Just as he finished, out of nowhere , Jason leaned in and placed a kiss on the corner of her lips . It was so fast and soft that Lily would think that she was imagining it.

Jason retreated back from her then wore his matching mask before exiting the car and going to Lily's side.

He looked calm and collected, but from the inside he was a mess as he cursed himself for acting impulsively.

Camera flashes blinded Lily as Jason helped her out if the car then placed a hand on her lower back. Ignoring all the questions and curious looks thrown at them they both headed inside.

The hall was full off people fully dressed in black. Some conversed, some were having drinks while others danced. Lily felt like it was out of a fairytale.

Though the whole place was filled with a powerful and dangerous aura she couldn't help but be excited.

"You didn't tell me you're bringing Lily as your date, Jason" Cole said as he approached them.

Jason's guard was up , he wasn't the same Jason from a couple of minutes ago. His usual cold personality was showing, but never to Lily.

"Hi, Cole,  it's been a while" Lily greeted him as Jason ignored his existence.

"Indeed it was , how about I invite you for a dance so we can catch up"

"No" Jason responded with a death stare directed towards Cole "She's dancing with me"

And with that Jason took Lily's hand in his and led her to the dance floor leaving behind a stunned Cole.

"That was rude" Lily said as Jason placed her hands on his shoulder then placed his on her hips.

That hand placement did weird things to Lily's heart , but she didn't show it.

Hopefully.

"I don't care, your first dance of the night should be with me . In fact, all of your dances will be with me only"

Jason was a possessive guy in nature and Lily's presence made it ten times worse . He was slowly falling for her and yet he didn't notice how Lily already has become a very important part of his life.

"Why?" Lily asked

Jason smiled at her, his vigilant eyes bore into hers. His possessive grip never left her hips as she waited for his response.

"Because ,fiore, I don't like sharing what's mine"
