This Friday was such a beautiful day. The bird's singing and the soft sounds of nature traveled throughout the town racing the soft breeze of wind that tickled the trees.
The King's garden was full of people running around trying to finish the preparations before the guests arrived. Today was the gender reveal party for Jason's and Lily's baby and everyone was ecstatic to find out whether it's gonna be a girl or a boy.
Sophia still had no idea about this and she was supposed to find out today, but she and her mom were still outta town and were supposed to arrive later today.
Jason wouldn't allow Lily to participate in the preparations because she's only gonna stress out and that's the last thing he wants for her and the baby.
And Jason couldn't leave her alone at home so the preparation job was handed to the brothers and let me tell you all these energetic boys in one job together was a bad idea.
They argued, shouted, fought and chased each other the whole time to the point where the workers were scared for their life and annoyed at the same time.
"Alex, you stupid bitch I told you to hang the lights on top behind them, not on the door!" Cole screamed at him.
"You did not! You just said hang them on top, how tf I am supposed to know what top? Top of your dick? Top of Elijah's ass? Top of the stupid worker head? Specify bitch"
The poor worker looked back with a face that said 'What did I do?'.
"Leave me outta of it, fucker" Elijah said as he struggled with hanging the balloons.
"You're such a stupid kid I don't know how you will pass your highschool" Cole added.
"Nah that's Will not me"
"Shut the fuck up, you're dumb and everyone knows it" Will bit back.
"Kids stop arguing and finish this shit before everyone arrives" Luke ordered
"I don't know why the fuck Jason has given this job to us. Doesn't he know how dumb those kiddos are? He is setting this party to turn out as a huge disaster" Brent complained.
Suddenly Alex and Will fell on top of each other and Will groaned in pain.
"Get off of me you fat bitch" Will pushed him off.
"Elijah you're a dead meat, boy" Alex warned as he got up.
Elijah was the one who tripped Alex which resulted in him falling on top of Will and scratching his elbow.
"Listen you little fucks, if I hear you arguing one more time I'm breaking your necks. Now everyone finishes their job in silence because if I hear one more word my head is going to explode and if it does I'm killing you all. Understood?" Mason spoke with so much authority as if he was born to be a leader and he was.
That was more than enough to shush them all and with that the preparations were done quickly and perfectly , at least as perfect as these boys could make it.
Alexander King, who was standing on the balcony watching over his boys, had a proud smile on his face. Mason will be a great leader one day, even if he's acting as a rebellious teenager, he has no doubt that he will be a great mafia boss and a great big brother to all his siblings.
Meanwhile Jason was helping Lily get ready since she was struggling the past few weeks. It was tiring being pregnant at this young age while also fighting cancer.
"You look stunning, Fiore"
"As stunning as I could be while looking like a zombie"
"Don't say that, babe. You're the most fucking beautiful girl in this world and you'll always be no matter what. Who in this world has a smile that brightens everything around it? Who in this world has hair as silky and smooth and shiny as yours? No one has such captivating ocean eyes like yours, every time I look into them I sink deeper and deeper and honestly I don't want to be rescued."
"How did I get this lucky to have such a lovely husband, Jasey ? Have I ever told you how much I love you?"
Jason chuckled and kissed the tip of her nose " You did , maybe a few thousands times. I love you more, my love"
As both the couples exited their house hand in hand a harsh icy breeze slapped them as the once clear sky clouded with gloomy clouds blocking the sunlight. It was as if it was a day in fall not summer, the birds quietened down as they seeked shelter and leaves fell down scattering all over the place.
"Isn't it so weird how the weather can suddenly, in the span of a moment, change one hundred eighty degrees from sunny to cloudy?" Lily asked whilst looking up at the sky.
"It is. Let's hurry up before it decides to rain"
"Do you think the party will be ruined?" Lily asked worriedly.
"No, baby. Everything will work out great, let's just reach my family house and everything will be okay"
Reaching the King's mansion Lily and Jason were greeted by the guests , who were all close family friends and members, as they gave them gifts and congratulated them with smiles and claps and nothing but positive energy.
"So what do you guys think of the decorations?" Cole asked.
"It looks amazing, like you guys did such a great job, I love it so much" Lily thanked her brothers in law.
"It does look great, I honestly thought you guys are going to fight and fuck this up" Jaosn said ,impressed.
"Well we did kinda fight, but we didn't fuck it up" Will said proudly.
" Oh yeah, if it wasn't for Mason you would've probably found Elijah hanged on the front door" Alex said glaring at Elijah.
"Well thank you Mason for keeping them in line, I know they can be such a pain in the ass sometimes" Jason said, patting his shoulder and Mason just nodded back at him
"Sometimes? They're pain in the ass twenty four seven" Brent scoffed.
"I am actually proud you guys worked together and did such a great job" Their father said as he joined their circle.
"Thanks, dad. We're THE KINGS after all" Alex said proudly.
"That was so cringy" Will said.
"Shut the f-"
"Watch your mouth kiddo" his father warned before directing his head towards Lily "Lily , how are you feeling today?"
"I am a bit tired, but nothing I can't handle. I am actually so excited for the gender reveal"
"Well , shall we start then?" Jason asked.
"What about your mother and Sophia?" Lily asked.
"Dad?" Jason asked.
"I don't think they will make it to the reveal, but they will be here by the end of the party"
"Oh that's too bad, I actually wanted them to be here with us"
"It's okay, babe, they will be here later and we can still have some fun with them"
Everyone played a few games together before the actual reveal, everyone voted for what they think the baby's gender will be. They were all having fun as laughter filled the garden and happiness and love radiated from all over the place.
"Are you guys ready for the reveal?" Brent shouted as everyone shouted yes back at him.
Lily and Jason stood next to the button that would spray out either pink or blue while music played in the background. They danced and teased the crowd as they patiently awaited the color reveal.
One moment was enough to change the weather from sunny to cloudy and one moment changed the atmosphere from happy to gloomy.
A wave of dizziness hit Lily at full speed and she collapsed onto the grass as panic and fear was heard all around.
"Lily! Fiore?!" Jason screamed with horror as he tried to wake her up. He should have been used to it by now, since it happened quite a lot the past few months, but it always scared him to death.
"Call the ambulance, quick" Alexander ordered.
Something felt wrong..
Lily would faint lots of times, but for some reason Jason had a bad feeling in his heart. He tried to push the bad thoughts away, but his heart was as if it was held in a tight fist.
The Kings had their own ambulance so it barely took a few minutes to arrive. Lily was rushed to the hospital and Jason's nerves were on the edge of collapsing. Her parents along with Jason's dad followed the ambulance and her mother just like Jason had a sickening feeling in her stomach.
The baby gender reveal party was obviously canceled as the boys, who considered Lily now part of the family, were also scared for her. They all removed the decorations in silence and the moment they were done their mom and little sister arrived.
Jason's mother was met with the saddened faces instead of the smiley ones and her heart broke for her son who was pacing through the hospital hallways.
