The stars twinkled like diamonds in the sky, and the moon casted a soft glow over everything as darkness enveloped this part of the earth, yet it felt comforting and cozy.
In the serenity of night, a certain girl was still up sitting on the bed with crossed legs and hesitancy written all over her face.
Lily was up at this late hour with something going on her mind. Something was bothering her and she was not going to sleep until she got it.
She tried so hard to fall back asleep, but she couldn't, she couldn't control it. And now here she was contemplating whether she should wake up Jason or not.
She stared down at his sleeping face and she felt guilty. She was keeping him up so many nights and he was so gentle and patient with her throughout day and night. She didn't want to ruin his deep sleep, she couldn't.
You're probably wondering what's so important at this time of night? Well it was very important, Lily was craving blueberries.
Yes , blueberries are an important issue at three after midnight.
She could just go by herself to the supermarket and come back quickly without ruining Jason's slumber, which would probably make him angry , or she could ruin it and wake him up and send him to get her special craving.
She decided on the dumb decision which is yup you guessed it going to the supermarket by herself.
Lily changed into her black sweatpants and Jason's black hoodie before grabbing her purse and car keys and then headed to the supermarket.
One thing Lily did forget was her phone....
Lily's smile widened as her eyes landed on the packet of blueberries sitting there and waiting for her to pick it up. Finally, she could shut her late midnight's cravings and just go back to sleep.
As she stood on the register to pay for her precious little berries a man rudely pushed her out of the way and placed his beer on the register's table.
Lily being the tough Lily she is and having her hormones going crazy surely didn't just ignore this.
"What is wrong with you? Are you blind or what ? I was there first, now apologize"
"Fuck off little kitten before I smash that little head of yours" the clearly drunk man warned as his body swayed from side to side.
"Oh I'm so scared." Lily said sarcastically.
She really should learn how to control her mouth.
"Listen here bitch get out my face before I-"
"Before you what?" A manly voice with so much authority in it said, grabbing their attention.
The poor man at the registering desk was scared shitless and looked like he was about to pee his pants. Lily turned around to the source of the familiar voice and her eyes slightly widened in surprise.
"Or what? Huh asshole?"
"Listen I don't want trouble, I was just trying to get my bear" the drunk man said, terrified.
"That's not what it seemed like when you pushed my brother's wife aside and threatened her like a fucking bitch"
"I'm sorry, man . I don't want problems, please"
"Nah, not enough. I'm not satisfied. Get on your knees and beg for forgiveness"
"Wha-"
"NOW"
The man had no chance but to kneel down in front of Lily and beg for her to forgive him, Lily was too stunned to speak and she just stared down at the guy with a blank face.
"Get the fuck up and out of my face before I change my mind"
The man didn't waste his time as he picked himself up clumsily and scattered out of the market forgetting about his bear.
"What are you doing here all alone at this time? Does Jason know about this?"
"Uh -well he doesn't and I hope it stays that way" Lily said cheeplisly.
"Too late"
"What do you mean too late?"
"I've already called him when I first spotted you smiling like an idiot in front of the fruit aisle"
"I just wanted to -"
"I really don't care, Jason is almost here . You should be careful, you're precious to my brother for some reason and I don't want him to get hurt because of .. nevermind" Jason's oldest brother turned around and was about to exit the shop when Lily stopped him.
"Mason... thank you" Lily said with sincerity and Mason simply nodded back at her.
"Congratulations on the baby" That was Mason's last words before he fully left.
As soon as the door closed it was swung open again by none other than Jason himself. He looked beyond mad, he was pissed. One look at his face and Lily gulped nervously before quickly handing the poor worker his money.
She held the reason for all tonight's events between her hands and shamelessly approached the angry bear.
"Car. Now" two words said with so much anger behind them.
Lily did what she was told without any arguments and headed towards her car, she knew she was guilty and nothing she could say right now would make things better.
"My car" Jason grabbed her by the hoodie's hat, his hoodie, and directed her the other way.
"What about my car?"
"I'll get someone to bring it back home"
"Oh , okay?" Lily said, unsure of what to say.
"Seatbelt" Jason waited for Lily to click her seatbelt on and drove back home silently.
It was the most awkward nerve wracking ride Lily has ever had. She was preparing herself mentally for the lecture she was about to hear.
The door of Lily's and Jason's home clicked shut behind them as Jason headed towards their living room with Lily behind him directly, still clutching the damn blueberrie's packet in her hand.
"What were you thinking, Lily? I woke up and my wife was gone without taking her goddamn phone and then after minutes of going crazy I got a phone call from my brother asking me why my wife is at the store all by herself at three in the morning! Are you trying to give me a heartache at this age ,woman?"
"I'm sorry, it's all because of the baby"
"How is this the baby's fault, huh? What happened?"
"He was craving blueberries and I couldn't sleep at all so I had to go and get some"
"Why the fuck you didn't wake me up? What am I? A chair leg in this house?"
"I'm sorry, okay! I just didn't want to disturb your sleep like I do everyday. You were finally having some much needed sleep and I didn't have the heart to wake you up"
"Oh Lily, oh baby. This is my job, to take care of you and our baby, I don't give a shit if you wake me up , you're way more important. What's the point if you can't rely on me to get you freaking blueberries? I love you and I married you and now I'm about to have a baby with you. That means it's my job to be next to you in our best days and our rough days"
"I know I'm sorry, I promise not to do it again, Jasey"
"Good girl, I love you, Fiore"
"I love you more, Jasey"
Lily wrapped her free arm around Jason's torso and hugged him tightly. Jason placed a kiss on the top of her head as he hugged her back whilst rubbing her back.
Jason then grabbed the packet of blueberries out if Lily's hand and made her sit on the couch as he went to the kitchen, washed them, then got back and sat next to Lily on the couch.
Jason held the plate in his hand and ate one , two , three barriers as Lilt stared at him, waiting for him to give her the plate or offer some.
Lily reached out to the plate trying to grab one out of it , but Jason moved it away from and she frowned in confusion at him.
"Give me one"
"Nope"
"What? Why?"
"That will teach you to never get out again without at least informing me"
"What the heck? Seriously, Jason?"
"Yup"
"Jasonnnn" Lily dragged out.
"Hm?"
"Give me one , for the baby, please" she pouted.
Jason looked back at her sad puppy face and sighed." Of course I will give you, little mouse. I was just teasing you. Here, open you mouth" Jason said as he pecked her lips before feeding her as she laid on his chest while staring up into his eyes.
"Stop looking at me with those eyes, love"
"Why?"
"Unless you want to get fuc-"
"Jeez, Jason, you need to watch your words, you're so ... naughty"
"Naughty? Seriously? Besides it's nothing you haven't heard before"
"Well soon we'll be having a baby, you can't be talking like this around him, dumby"
"Right, I still can't believe I'm going to be a father"
"And I can't believe I'm going to be a mother, but I know you're going to be a great dad, my love" Lily said placing a kiss on his neck.
