Alexander King.
A name that radiates danger and implements fear even in the hearts of the strongest men alive. His reputation was as dark and powerful as his name and it was no lie that he was even more scary than his reputation.
He after all got The Empire mafia to where it was today. All the previous leaders no matter how much they tried they never managed to achieve what Alexander King did in just a few years. Yet, despite all this glory, he was still a good and gentle father, a total opposite to the personality that he showed to the world.
And that's probably why Jason was unbothered as he sat in front of his father's desk and under his watchful eyes.
"He got you pretty bad" His dad said, gesturing towards his injured face.
"It's not as bad as it looks, he already got his teeth pulled out for that and now he's six feet under the ground"
"The money?"
"The fucker was dealing with human trafficking, he confessed seconds before his heart was torn out. I handed the money to Mason and you already know all of this I don't know why you bother asking"
Alexander sighed and got up from his chair then proceeded to take a seat on the couch next to Jason.
"Your mother told me about Lily"
"And?" Jason asked defensively and clenched his jaw.
"I'm not going to lecture you about staying away from her , I just don't want you to get hurt and lose your heart with her"
"I've already lost it to her, she owns it now. She had owned it since the moment I met her, but I didn't know back then. I don't care about my heart breaking, it's hers to break it and I would be damned if I leave her because of her illness."
Jason abruptly stood up and left his dad's office after saying those words out loud. He doesn't like showing emotions and saying that out loud and in front if his father made him feel strange.
As Jason stormed out of the house and into his car he slammed the car's door closed and closed his eyes while resting his head back on the seat.
The moment of peace and calmness was shortly cut as his phone ringtone went off making him grunt in annoyance. His mood quickly changed and his heart fluttered in his chest as Lily's name appeared on his phone's screen.
"Hey, Fiore"
"Jason" Lily frantically whispered, her voice laced with fear.
"Lily? What happened? Are you okay?" Jason straightened up at the sound of her frightened tone.
"There's someone in my house" Lily whispered so quietly Jason almost didn't catch what she said.
"Lil, listen to me baby. Where are you right now?"
"I'm in my bedroom, b-but I can hear someone downstairs and my parents left to the city they won't be back until almost midnight"
"Okay, bambina lock your door and get into your bathroom and lock it. I'm already on my way to you , almost there. Don't open your door at all until I get to you and stay quiet, can you do that for me baby?"
"Y-yes. But shouldn't you get some if your men? I-I don't want you to get hurt"
"I will be okay, bambina. Just do as I told you"
"I should've called the police, I was too scared I didn't know what to do so I called you"
"You did good, baby. No need for the cops I will handle this my way, just stay on the line with me"
"My phone, it's about to die. I was going to get my charger from the living room when the back door clicked open and I rushed back to my room"
"It's okay, baby. I'll be there in a min-"
Lily didn't hear the rest of the sentence as her phone went off and she cursed herself for not charging it earlier. Jason, just like Lily, uttered a chain of colorful curses as his car sped down the road.
Whoever caused this terror to his girl was going to be at the other end of his anger. Pulling a few houses down the road, Jason grabbed his two guns from the dashboard and loaded them before placing one in the back of his pants and keeping the other clutched in his hand.
Jason didn't bother to enter the house from the door he directly climbed up towards Lily's room and when he found her window unlocked he got pissed.
How could she be so careless? But that's not what matters now, if he finds a hair of hers was hurt he will raise hell on earth. Lily's bedroom door was closed and so was her bathroom door.
"Lil? Open your door, it's me Ja-"
The door swung open cutting him off, of course Lily would recognize his voice. She would recognize it amongst thousands of others.Lily threw herself on Jason and hugged him in relief.
"You're okay right, Fiore? Nothing hurt?"
"Yes I'm okay, but t-they're still at home. I heard them entering my parents room and then you came"
Lily saw the open window and figured that Jason entered from it and she was one hundred percent sure he's gonna lecture her about it later.
"Stay here and lock the door behind me. Keep my phone with you in case anything happens- which will not- you already have your fingerprint on it."
"No, Jason. Don't go out, they could kill you! What if they have guns?" Lily whispered with concern.
"Well good thing I have a gun too. Here keep this with you, if anyone comes in shoot them in the head" Jason said as he handed her his one of his guns.
"W-what Jason are you insane I don't even know how-"n. Fffl
"Shh, bambina. You're gonna be okay and you won't have to use it. This is just for extra safety. I will be back quickly, I promise"
Jason didn't wait for Lily to respond as he unlocked the door and waited till he heard the click of the lock before heading towards the hushed voices coming from across the hall.
Jason peeked inside the room only to find the room a big mess as two guys were rampaging through Lily's parents' stuff. Jason kicked the door open and pointed his gun towards both guys.
"Drop everything in your hands and put your fucking hands behind your head before I blow your brains out"
The two guys turned around faster than you can blink as their eyes widened in fear. Jason caught the movement of one of the guys trying to grab his gun and in the flash of a light his leg and arm had a bullet resting inside of them.
And just for precaution he shot the other one in both his shoulders." What are you fuckers doing here? Who sent you?"
"Answer before I end your pathetic life"
A sudden pain radiated in the back of Jason's head as his legs collapsed beneath him and his knee hit the floor. Jason grunted in pain and turned his head around only to find another guy standing behind him with his gun aimed at his head.
They were three guys after all, the third one must've been in another room." Well well well, look who fell into our trap. Jason King, under my mercy"
"Who the fuck are you?"
"I'm a nobody , that's what your dad told me, before destroying my life. And now I will show him what this nobody can do."
Jason chuckled darkly glaring at the guy so coldly the guy almost gulped in fear. "You think you can prove your worth by killing me? My dad was right, you're a pathetic nobody and I'll make you regret this"
"W-what will you do? I have my gun pointed at you, you can't do nothing"
Jason didn't give a shit about his life, all he cared about was Lily and he was more than ready to just die, but when that guy opened his filthy mouth Jason boiled with anger.
"I knew that bitch would call you and she did , she handed us you on a platter of gold. Don't worry she will be following you to grave in a bit"
Jason stood up and threw himself at him in a flash, but the guy noticed and dodged him before he could bring him down with him.
A gunshot echoed in the room as blood splattered all over the floor. Jason's hand touched his shirt only for it to turn red from the warm blood that was covering him.
"Jason?" Jason turned around and saw Lily standing there with teary eyes that were full of fear and worry.
Lily's shaky legs rushed towards Jason and held him in her arms, hugging his head towards her chest as tears finally managed to break free.....
